As founder and course developer for the Basic Wound Care Course: A Practice-Based Overview, it was highly significant for me to come up with an impressive course in an amazing hotel. Biltmore Hotel and Suites exceeded my expectations. Amy Becker, their head of Sales and Catering guided me throughout and made sure everything was perfect. The food during the 2-day event was amazing and the facility was clean and pristine. Truly this made my experience of holding this course for the first time in California a magical and unforgettable one. The reviews of the participants about the course and the location were very positive and this has inspired me even more. Thank you Biltmore!

Only stayed one night at the Biltmore, but it was a good night. They have reasonably comfortable beds, the rooms are clean and tidy, and they have some pretty good room service food.

Searched for a hotel near Great America for the long weekend, booked online since the GA package was a good deal - $129 for 2 queen beds, 2 GA tickets, buffet breakfast for 2 and a shuttle to and from GA, who can beat that?
I called ahead to make sure that everything was in place, Regina was very nice to give us a room that is not outdated and is clean per my request, having a Memorial Day weekend with our Toddler will surely be interesting.
We had more fun at the hotel than Great America.
Definitely, the plus factor that Biltmore has are their employees, Regina, Dina, Artemas - keep up the good work, you guys rock!
Thank you, Ricardo and Leticia of the Montague Cafe, breakfast was great even if the restaurant was crowded.
Even the Housekeeping people whose names I cannot remember were awesome!
I want another overnight!!!Comment from Monty C. of Biltmore Hotel 5/31/2011

The price and location is right. Breakfast buffet is okay. The morning eggs are powdery, but the fresh fruit is excellent. The miso breakfast is also excellent even if it is made from a mix. If you buy your hotel via http://hotels.com or somehow pre-pay for it, you'll probably have to pay for the breakfast buffet which is over priced for what you get in my opinion. Not sure if this is a recurring thing, but Friday had an omelette station which was nice.
The rooms.. that's another story. Beds are sub-par. The pillows are nice and so are the bathrooms. My shower curtain had a slight scent the first couple of days but it was changed halfway through the week.
The cleaning crew isn't too thorough. When I checked in, I moved the night stand forward to charge my phone and saw a wad of tissue paper. Not sure what the tissue paper was used for, but I'm sure it was used for some bodily fluid. It was there until I checked out. I even moved the night stand forward a few times for them to see it, but they never did.
The remote! Not sure if it was feces or chocolate, but the remote was disgusting! I always use the ice bag to wrap around the remote in every hotel that I stay in, but within a few minutes, the bag had become brown on the inside. Thank you 20/20 for letting me know that the remote was the dirtiest thing in hotel rooms.
The walls are VERY thin. I could hear people farting and clearing their throats in the rooms next to me.
Bottom Line: I'd stay there again just because of the location and price. If you don't mind semen filled tissue, chocolate (or feces) on the remote, and the lack of privacy, I'll see you in the hotel bar.Comment from Monty C. of Biltmore Hotel 5/26/2011

Because I had my small yorkie, they gave us an outside mediocre "motelish" room. ($50 flat fee for pet) Decor is 80s; old bedspreads & carpet. Possibly the main building rooms may be nicer...?
The HDTV was cool except the cable channels are ALL analog so the picture is pretty grainy/blurry & cuts out often. We brought a portable DVD player, which hooked up nicely with sharp, clear picture. If you want to watch a movie, I suggest bringing an inexpensive blu-ray player or PS3/Nintendo.(composite,component,& HDMI hookups!)
The breakfast buffet was OK, but on Tuesday they had cooked to order omelets AND Belgian waffles! YUM!
If you want some sun while in the pool area, better find another hotel! The pool is narrow & in between 2 buildings with trees all around, so no sun. :(
The gym is not half bad, with 3 treadmills w/tvs, 2 eliptical trainers, & chest, shoulder, arm machines. Better than Hilton had in Fremont!Comment from Monty C. of Biltmore Hotel 7/20/2011

We had stayed here for the duration of the weekend. We had thrown a large party in their ballroom and had a great time doing it. The rooms were comfortable, spacious, and relaxing. I dont know if the walls were sound proofed but I would imagine that they were considering we werent kicked out for all the pranks we were pulling on each other through out the night. The place is convenient and the staff were helpful despite some of the awkward parking spaces. To top it all off, not once did I feel awkward walking around dressed in drag... for a skit in the event! ;P

Booked a room here off a travel site and was really disappointed. Small rooms that were not very clean. The staff was really nice but made me wait almost an hour to check in.
Small bathroom and not many places to keep belongings. Outside entrance to each room.
Free parking/internet
Right off the freeway making is easy to find and get to.
I won't stay at this hotel again especially since there are way nicer ones in the same area.Listed in: Hotels

Located right up the freeway off Montague Expressway, this has to be one of the nicer facilities that I've stayed at in the general area surrounding the San Jose Airport (http://www.yelp.com/bi...). We were able to get a suite which is a bit more, but it's nice to have so much space. The deal we got was three days with one free. Overall our rate came to around $60 a night, which isn't too bad at all for the San Jose airport area.
We also were given two free breakfast buffet tickets for each day we stayed there. It's nothing spectacular, but enough to get you going in the morning and saves you money and the hassle at the same time. Free secure wireless internet access. You have to pay extra for a refrigerator, but that now seems like an industry standard. One of the few negatives it that some of the parking is kind of narrow though.
Overall, I would stay here again as long as the rates stay on par with other hotels in the area.Comment from Monty C. of Biltmore Hotel 11/11/2010

I have had the pleasure of using the Biltmore's event space for professional monthly meetings for the past five years. They are extremely accommodating and the service is exceptional. From the front desk, to the bell hop, to the hotel staff who sets up for meetings, and the management, I have never been disappointed with any aspect of my time there and have continuously received positive feedback from the meeting attendees in regards to the hotel. Additionally, I have used the hotel sleeping rooms for myself as well as for many out of state professionals/speakers and we all have been extremely pleased. They are very clean and well maintained.
Amy in particular is an extraordinary staff member. I truly feel that she has gone out of her way numerous times to make sure that I was accommodated in every way possible. I will continue to use the Biltmore's for both meeting rooms and sleeping rooms for years to come and would recommend this place to anyone else!Comment from Monty C. of Biltmore Hotel 11/11/2010

Review from Porkchop P.

When I was a kid, my best friend and I used to carpool to school with a girl named Betsy Bernstein, AKA Betsy Boogerstein on account of her proclivity for nose-picking.
Every morning, Betsy would ride in the car with us, her nose (boogers and all) buried in a book, her stubby little fingers digging away and wipe-wipe-wiping away on whatever was closest.
Needless to say, my friend and I had many a heated argument over who was to sit in the back seat next to Boogerstein. At one point the booger situation got so bad that my mom covered the beige tweed velour-upholstered back seat of our Toyota Corona with a thick, washable blanket. Being that my mom is diplomatic before she is truthful, she told everyone it was to protect the interior for the times our dog rode in the car.
But we all knew the truth. It was all about the boogers.
As traumatic as those booger-filled years were for me, they are thankfully now only memories to which I rarely hearken back. That said, nothing evokes those memories more for me than an overnight stay in a hotel.
"Sanitized For Your Protection!"
I think not.
The only way to *really* convince me that a hotel room has been adequately sanitized for my protection would be for housekeeping to come up and light a motherfucking match.
People are disgusting. They do disgusting things in the privacy of their own home, and even more disgusting things in the privacy of their home away from home, where there is little to no accountability involved.
"If a booger is picked and no one is around to see it, does it really exist?"
I believe the great ancient Greek philosophers' response to this riddle would have been a resounding, "HELL FUCKING YES! Pass the Purellis Hand-Sanitizarius, sil placet!"
Germaphobia/agoraphobia aside, events in life do arise that require me to spend a night or two in a hotel. Neurotic though I am, I've adopted a Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy when it comes to the *cough* "proteins" that inevitably become illuminated under the imaginary blacklight in my head. Alas, in these instances, in the interest of Darwinian self-preservation, I'm willing to settle (sort of) for the *illusion* of clean.
Recently, I attended a wedding at the Biltmore and reserved a room at a group rate, a mere $85 bucks a night, breakfast (and boogers) included. When I arrived, I strolled through the lobby and past the pristine pool and Jacuzzi area. Remarkably pleasant and clean. Still, I was wary of what my guest room would hold in store; given the price, I was expecting used condoms under the bed and a dead hooker in the closet.
But when I opened the door to my "garden room", I was pleasantly surprised. The beds were soft and dressed in fresh-scented white linens. All the surfaces were spotless, with no evidence of bodily secretions. Even the bathroom tile was bleach-bottle clean with nary a pube to be found. And of course, no *visible* boogers.
In addition, the staff was friendly and attentive, both during the wedding service, as well as later on during my stay. When my clumsy, caffeine-fiending ass broke the in-room coffee pot sending shards of glass everywhere, they promptly cleaned my mess, replaced the pot, and didn't even charge me for the one I broke.
My only significant complaint is that the assortment of aromatherapy bath products in my room did not include a bottle of conditioner. Anyone with eyes can see that I'm a nappy-headed ho. What do you expect me to use to detangle my hair? Bodily fluids?
Don't answer that. -

I stayed here twice. Both times, I was struck with two disparate thoughts:
1) It's a beautiful hotel with nice rooms at a fair price.
2) It's noisy. After being moved 3 times to different rooms in 2006, I haven't been back. An amorous couple began making love in the room next to mine, and they might as well have been in my room. When I called to ask to be moved, they heard me perfectly and 'stopped'. That's crap construction. -

Let's start with the fire alarm, since that was truly the highlight of my short visit...
The fire alarm is located in the room. In a fire that is a great thing, but first thing in the morning at seriously Van Halen levels is a bit much. So I make my way down the stairs and wander aimlessly out to the front of the hotel. There I get to meet some of the other guests while we wait for the fire trucks to arrive. Turns out this happens every morning, so their advice was to get out to the office by 7am to avoid the fire alarm. neat idea.
After waiting for the all clear, I have a perfectly sad and depressing breakfast in their Ramada Inn cafe.
On checking out I mention the fire alarm and suggest that perhaps they could serve coffee in the parking lot if its going to happen every morning. The clerk mentions that they hope to eventually figure out why that happens every morning. no apology, no explanation.
maybe me no stay here any more... -

FAREPA charity event gave then an extra star.
The event itself was awesome as always, the accommodations were more than lacking. First, the parking, if they made the spots and lanes any smaller motorcycles could not park there. The place looks nice, but that is where the compliments end. The bar was placed in some back room past the kitchen and was manned by a person who made one drink and hour; at least you know you were not going home on a DUI. They served food, which was terribly bland and barely warm. The servers was rude beyond belief. If you were leaning over talking to someone at your table they would reach between to place something on the table and if you did not move out of their way they were audibly irritated. The person who put the FAREPA event together was sitting at my table and she lost her meal ticket in all the hubbub of putting the final touches into play and getting ready to go on stage and the waiter refused to give her a meal. We had to get mad and get the manager to get her a plate of food, how ridiculous is that. And finally when the meal was finishing they again interrupted everybody at the table to clear out everything, even the water pitchers and the water glasses. Now if that doesn't just say get out I do not know what does.
All in all I do not recommend this place, never come here for an event or otherwise, I would have giving negative 5 stars if it was an option.Comment from Monty C. of Biltmore Hotel 12/10/2010

I winded up staying here for the first time last week and for a THREE STAR hotel, I give it 4 stars. I think my bed was a full, which was just barely making the cut for me + my beau. The room was clean and it was small, but for the price that I paid ($67 via priceline), I think it was an exceptional value. The property does seem old - "think 3-star Trump-style" with all that brass, but it looks like it's well kept inside.
The TV was a box, not the hi-def LCDs everyone else has, but once again... I'd like to reiterate it is a 3-star hotel. I didn't eat at the restaurants nor ask for room service but I did order a wake-up call for both mornings and they delivered on schedule! :)
Good value and location if you need easy access to 101, Yahoo or to the AMC theater. -

This is a very nice hotel. Not a fan of the parking lot, but the hotel has really been great when it comes to taking care of us. The buffet is fantastic. Very clean, busy, but not noisy.
Couldn't believe all that was going on at the hotel at the time. Would like to see more seating around the hotel, but it was fun. This was the second time I have been to an IE for PADI at this hotel - and it was as nice as ever.Comment from Monty C. of Biltmore Hotel 12/10/2010

Review from Tak K.
Campbell, CA
I stayed there as a package of flight-hotel-car the other day. Since I got quite a bit of discount, I shouldn't have expected too much out of this place. Well, this place outdid my lack of expectation.
First, when you hear a business station, you would imagine a separate room with a computer or two and a printer, right? This place just allowed a customer to use a computer at the front desk without any privacy. All right, I thought; at least I can do some work here. So I tried to open the PDF file I downloaded the other day, and this computer flicking didn't allow me to open that file! And that was not because that computer didn't have Adobe Acrobat! Later that day, I tried to print my boarding pass, and the browser couldn't open the copy. Big sigh.
Somewhat disappointed, I retreated to my room. The inside was pretty clean and functional. While the interior was not as classy as Beverley Heritage Hotel I've stayed a few times, it was definitely doable. The bed was pretty comfortable.
But then, I was somewhat surprised that the room didn't offer any complimentary shampoo. I forgot to bring mine, but thankfully only had to stay one night, so I could survive without washing my hair. I guess I could've asked the front desk to get me one, but have never seen a business hotel without a bottle of complimentary shampoo. Instead I saw two small bottles of lotion. I am not really sure just how many days one would need to use these two bottles...
Oh well, at least the soaps were in good quality, so I decided to just wash my hands. Then, I noticed that the faucet was very close to the wall that hanged a mirror. That made stopping the water flow somewhat difficult. That might simply be an installation mistake, but couldn't this hotel detect that obvious inconvenience and fix it? Not everyone has a small hand so reaching there wouldn't be an issue.
At least I was looking forward to the continental style breakfast. The ticket even said Japanese, so I was hoping for some nice food. But once I got there early morning, the "Japanese" food was just badly cooked rice and instance miso soup. Oh wait, there were some pickles too! Yey, I got to enjoy a nice Japanese breakfast in America! What a savior! ...Of course what I just said was a sarcasm. I was going to fill my stomach with this breakfast as much as possible, but after this arrangement of "Japanese" food and decent American food (at least they had some stir-fried veggie), I just got tired of eating more than usual, and decided to take off from the hotel earlier.
So all in all, staying there was just OK. I'll probably try other place next time. -

The hotel locations was easy to find and near the Santa Clara Convention Center. The room was spacious and most of the staff was friendly. (those in the restaurant and the man who drives the van are really nice - front desk, not so much)
My biggest complaint is the water coming out of the sink. It is brown and milky - bring your own water! I also could not get the internet to work which really prohibited my ability to do work in the hotel.
Otherwise, it was a decent place to sleep for a decent price. -

I attended a luncheon at the Biltmore and it was great! The food was good, the room was decorated beautifully, and the staff was polite and efficient. We had an opportunity to tour the entire hotel while we were there. They have two room types, regular rooms that have exterior hallways, and suites which are in the tall building with interior hallways. I would definitely choose the suites over the regular rooms. They are very spacious and nice.
The lobby is beautiful, and they have a Starbucks! -

Oh Biltmore. How I want to like you. But really can't. After reading the previous reviews prior to my stay, I really thought that my weekend attending a close friends wedding would have been pleasurable. As I had a great time with the company I was with... the staff at Biltmore needs to work on their customer service skills. Because.. they lack it. Lots of it. It's like they have no sense of what customer service is.
First off... what the hell is up with the air conditioning in the rooms!? Upon entering my room, I expected it to be warm... but not that warm at 12 noon! It was like we were in the sauna. I quickly flipped the air on high and walked out, returned 3 hours later... and had to check the air because it didn't seem like it had changed. It was super hot. I bet the air wasn't even connected. We were probably flipping switches thinking it was... but opening the window is a better bet. You'll at least feel the air come through.
The wedding venue... the garden area was nicely set. The reception hall was also decorated nicely. And the food served for the wedding... the salmon, beef and even chicken tenders for kids meal... were all good and on point! That's about it for the pros of the night. Sad... but true.
Onto customer service. Why? Is customer service even in their job descriptions? I really feel the Biltmore should invest some money into having a group session about what customer service is. Especially how to speak and respond to paying hotel customers.
On multiple occasions, there were moments I asked myself, "did that really just happen?" but of course... I kept them to myself because I didn't want to call people out. But after I just had to vent, I found out I wasn't the only one who felt that way. Throughout the night I just shrugged it off... took another sip of wine and felt better. But towards the end of the night, after the wine started wearing off... I was more aware of how the workers were treating the guests. At the end of the night, a young, tall, dark man yelled for everyone to leave the lobby area of the ball room. Sure... we probably shouldn't have been staying there after the party has ended... but he could have done so in a more professional way instead of yelling, "Party is over, you must leave this area now!" So as a few of us left... I realized one of the members of our group had a few glasses in their hand... the young, tall, dark man got very frustrated and yelled, "Hey! Bring those back! Bring those back!" Because our friend did not, the guy had the nerve to yell, "FUCK YOU!" whaaaaaaaaat??????!
Shame on you Biltmore. You hire people who yell "fuck you" to their guests!???????? Even if our friend was in the wrong... you have NO right to treat a paying guests like that in that demeanor. He could have been more professional and walked up to the guest and asked that he return the glasses instead of yelling using that language.
And believe.. I am MORE than generous giving you 2 stars. Maybe if you have a meeting about how to treat your paying guests, especially before a large wedding you would have received a better review.
However, now you leave a sour taste in my mouth and I have no problem telling others of the bad experience I have had with your property.Comment from Monty C. of Biltmore Hotel 11/23/2010

San Diego, CA
I've now stayed at the Biltmore for 3 nights. I think that's enough to give it an honest review. I guess I can change my review if the toilet vomits on me or they decide to send up a free masseuse with champagne.
It's in a convenient location off the 101 and Montague Expressway. The airport is right down the way and Great America is close too. (I'm sure there's other stuff, but I don't know the area that well.) I think that the Biltmore was tip-top, first class back in the mid-1990's but is a little old now and showing a few signs of age.
It is a hotel. I mean this in the most generic way. Nothing super fancy or awesome but it isn't a bad place either. The rooms are clean and nice. I got a free upgrade to the executive suite, which was a pleasant surprise. (My company sends a crapton of people here, so I think they hook us up.) The suites had a fridge and microwave and you get a newspaper in the morning. I'm not a super fan of any of those things but it's nice if that's what you're into. I want to say more about the rooms, but there's nothing really to say. It's just a basic room.
They gave me 2 free drink coupons and a free breakfast buffet coupon for each morning I stayed. I'm going to need a few minutes to talk about the bar.
The bar was...uh, not so good. First of all, it's very quiet. Very little to no background music. If there were sports on, they have them VERY low. Keep that in mind while I describe this place. It's an odd place and it's borderline silent. There are about 9 barstools on one side facing the 2 tv's they have hanging from the ceiling. It's weird trying to find a spot cause the middle-aged, beer-bellied businessmen sit with a stool in between each other so you're now left with a seat similar to the middle seat on an airplane. Yeah, you'll put up with it, but you can't really relax, which, when I'm at a bar is what I'm there to do. There's also a HUGE support beam right in the middle of the seating area on the bar. I understand you have to hold the building up, but why don't you put the bar somewhere the support beam doesn't come into play? Also, I'm not sure if the fact that it's mirrored makes it better or worse.
The other side of the bar has no bar stools on it and there's this awkward open space. It's odd because this is side of the bar is way more conducive to bar-seating. They made what should be the front of the bar the back. Very odd decision. At the end of the bar is a "lounge." I'm being VERY liberal with my use of that word here. It's a couch with a couple of sofa-chairs on either side and a coffee table. It'd be nice if you have a group to hang out with, but most people when on business are there by themselves so it creates this odd "do I sit next to him or is that weird" vibe. There's nothing to look at when you're sitting on the couch. Also, the bartender I've seen each night is borderline mute. No personality and he's not really friendly.
Behind the bar and next to the weird lounge-y thing is the restaurant. I haven't eaten here yet because it's just an odd space to eat in. The silent thing comes into play again.
Oh and the whole bar is VERY red.
The breakfast buffet is decent. Potatoes, cereal, fruit, eggs and an omelet bar. Decent. The service is pretty bad though. They don't really try to hard. They only hot sauce they have is Tabasco. Boo to that.Comment from Monty C. of Biltmore Hotel 11/11/2010

I may be a little harsh on this review ONLY because I was a seasoned vet in staying/working in hotels. With that being said,
The biltmore located in Santa Clara Right after 101, has an amazing location and potential to bring in LOTS of traveling guests. Now.. we just recently had our company party her and I am purely basing my review on the customer service and physical apperance of the lobby because I did not stay in the actual hotel room haha. Is this review even fair? ahaha anwayss.. I think this place is pretty big, looks are definetly decieving because I would never guessed it was that large inside by the looks of the outside. They could surely use a few renovations however I do know the times are hard.
The customer service was amazing. Especially from the banquet server Jose, whom acted as a bartender as well. He was very willing to help and since our company had an open bar i think he may had been set out to get my friend and I drunk lol. Everytime we went to the bar he had our drinks pre made and ready for pick up. What a great man. Even though this place seemed a little out of date, I think the customer service keeps it going and thats whats most important in the hospitality industry. -

I didn't stay at this hotel, but I looked onto it as a possible venue for my upcoming wedding.
It recently had a major re-model, and the lobby and hotel rooms are clean and nice looking.
The banquet room is adequate. It's spacious. Not overly elegant, so if you have your wedding here, you'll have to invest in some decor.
Kristi Canfield, the events coordinator, was great to work with. She was always polite and answered all of my questions. I bugged her for weeks via email asking a million questions (yeah, I was kinda Bridezilla) and she was always patient and helpful.
The wedding packages are totally customizable and the prices are decent (much less that all of the other hotels wed packages in Santa Clara county.)
The downside is the food. Usually, venues will give you a complimentary tasting after you book and place a deposit. Kristi gave us one before contract. My fiance & I tried two main entrees with sides. It was horrible, but I thought it was just the particular dishes we tried. I told Kristi this and she let us have another tasting so we could try other two other dishes. It was still awful! The prime rib tasted like pancake syrup. I am not exaggerating when I say that the other entrees tasted like hospital food.
Perhaps it's just me, though, being picky about my food.
This place is worth checking out!
I was given a tour of the rooms and they are really nice and clean and don't smell at all! -

Kristi was super helpful through the planning process. Really listened to what we wanted.
Come the day of and we were not impressed. Emily the banquet coordinator was not in a good mood and very pushy about rushing everything. We had to have our DJ step in and tell her to back off a bit. The dressing was not what we ordered with Kristi. The prime rib came well done for several guests and was supposed to be medium rare. We also had an issue with the head table and my husband got a bruised ankle. None of the management was very compassionate either.
They get a 3 because their price was good and Kristi did a great job.Comment from Monty C. of Biltmore Hotel 11/23/2010

I recently had my wedding at the Biltmore. They have a beautiful Atrium for the ceremony... The garden outside is also lovely but as it was december, we went for the inside location. The hotel was decorated for Christmas, adding to the beauty.
They have two possibilities for the reception... we chose the new Napa Valley Room. Beautiful lighting and intimate for a wedding of 100 guests. They provided centerpieces & candles... so no much extra decor needed!
It is also attached to the Hops bar so we had lots of room to spread out and people could keep an eye on Sunday football.
Kristi Canfield, the events coordinator, was extremely helpful. Great service.
The mahi mahi dish was good but the london broil was a bit chewy.
Plus a complimentary suite for the bride & groom & free breakfast for all guests.
They also have a free shuttle to the San Jose airport (I had many wedding guests from out of town so they took advantage of that service). -

I am an Event Director for a large non-profit and have been working with the Biltmore Hotel for the past 4 years and I have to say, they really offer a five star experience! I have organized many events and room blocks with this property and they are always able to deliver, leaving all my guests with nothing but great comments and a sense of being taken care of every time they stay. My review will probably be based from a planner's perspective rather than a guest's perspective, but I have never received any complaints from a guest's perspective so that's a review in itself.
Facility:
-This property has recently renovated their lobby and common space in the past two years and the change is remarkable! You will love the new lobby space and commonly shared areas
-They have two different room types, the garden rooms are on the first room and have outdoor access, have the availability of booking double beds and are one tier cheaper. The tower suites are all based on a one bedroom design aspect, has one King bed and a pullout sofa in the living room that can double as a pullout bed
-The banquet spaces, although aren't as huge as say, the Hyatt and Marriott nearby, are big enough in their own right that are more than able to house a medium sized group. In addition, they just remodeled a ballroom behind their in-house Hops Bar that is fantastic
-They have all the amenities that you would want in a hotel including a fabulous pool area, bar, coffee bar and restaurant, they also offer complimentary shuttles within a 5 mile radius
Service:
Hands down, their 5 stars in my rating comes from the service alone. Being an Events Director and always having to work with room blocks, logistics and meeting spaces, the Biltmore Hotel has always been so hospitable and accommodating to my group's request. Particularly, David Wang, my sales manager has been incredible in being the best ambassador for this property as he always responds quickly to my requests and is always able to make things happen for my group.
My favorite thing about the Biltmore Hotel is their warmth and hospitality and that's what makes doing business with them such a pleasure. -

I liked this place better the second night, but I wouldn't make any effort to come back. They upgraded me to a suite for free, which was very nice but not the type of place I'd get to try to impress somebody. The TV system was lousy, but the internet was free and fast. Bed was adequate and the cleaning service thorough. The weight room is small and some machines were out of order.
The breakfast food was so bad I didn't dare pay for other meals there.
As others mentioned, the location is a hassle. -

We called to make a reservation a few minutes before our arrival. Check-in went smoothly, but the hotel staff never notified us while making the reservation or upon checking-in that the hotel had no running water. We called the front desk to find out that indeed they were working on the plumbing and there was no running water, and that they had no alternatives. After traveling all day and expecting to shower or at least wash faces before going out to dinner it was indeed disappointing to find this out and would have appreciated a "heads up" upon making reservations or checking-in. The hotel is near the airport so there are planes flying low overhead every few minutes and there is the freeway across the street... so if you value quiet this is not a good place to stay. The lobby looks like they took marble tiles and placed them over an old lobby. I don't know if this is correct, but this is the way it looks. I have stayed at Biltmore Hotels before and the ones I have visited are wonderful. I would question why this one is part of the chain.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Its not bad, really, but I have some gripes.
Pros:
* Clean, spacious suite.
* Breakfast buffet is good. Custom omelets, fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, cereal, milk, all the oj you can drink.
Cons:
* In the middle of office park mania. Oh, and getting into the parking lot is crazy, just like the rest of this whole city, you need to merge to a right lane that starts and ends in 20 yards with offramping mofo's driving 60 mph into the same lane. What's with that Santa Clara!?!?!?
* Only like 20 channels on tv. Maybe I'm spoiled. -

My niece recently got married at the Cathedral, San Jose, and had a reception for 200 guests at Biltmore Hotel & Suites. The reception was a success!
Most of the families stayed at the suites/ Garden rooms. My husband & i appreciated the cleanliness of our suite. We had buffet breakfast, compliment of the hotel. That's really very guests-friendly gesture from the owners.
Cleanliness and friendliness of the staff are high marks in my book! -

Location is great, the hotel is clean, inexpensive and has evertything you need. Hotel staff is fabulous. I think I found my new affordable hotel for the area.
My room didnt have a refrigerator however they delivered some ice to my room. I also checked the website prior to my arrival to see if they had a cd player or an ipod docking station - no such luck so I brought my own.
I'll be back! -

My cousin had her wedding ceremony and reception at this hotel. Many of us also booked rooms for the weekend (we easily had 12+ rooms). The rating is for the customer service we (as a group collectively) received. It should really be only 1 star but I know many people will automatically skip over the review assuming I was overly harsh. If it weren't for two individuals, it would have been 5 stars of service 3.5 stars for the actual venue.
As far as the facility goes, the garden used for the ceremony and hall used for the reception were nice. The complementary breakfast was ok for the price (i.e. free) but on the second morning, a few of us decided to go and eat elsewhere off the property for some better food. Our main issues with the food was that the eggs were a bit dry and the bacon soaked in oil (it was the last of the bacon before it was refilled but on my plate, it looked like the bacon was served in a sauce of oil). I will say the food served at the wedding was delicious. The prime rib was juicy and cooked to perfection and the salmon was just perfect. Visually, the hotel appeared to be dated and could use some remodeling in the rooms but the front lobby and main banquet hall areas were modern and stylish.
I will have to say that Emily, the event coordinator who was working with us throughout the event was professional, excellent and was great to work with. She made things run smoothly even though there were many "on-the-fly" schedule changes to throughout the event.
The main problem we had was with the staff, two people in particular. The first was one of the people working at the reception desk. The bride was given a bridal suite as part of the contract for the wedding (this was a standard suite with a connecting 2nd smaller bedroom). On the day of the wedding, the mother of the bride had gone to the reception desk to reserve another room (one of their garden rooms). Once she had paid and room was reserved, it was discovered that the reception clerk had charged her for the 2nd attached bedroom (part of the bridal suite that was already included in the contract) and had given her the keys for that room. When the sister of the bride/main point of contact with the hotel had gone down to resolve this mistake (note: mistake made by the staff), the clerk had given her attitude and had even cut her off as she was trying to explain the problem. It was eventually resolved but it had clearly angered and irritated both the bride and the sister of the bride. This was totally unnecessary and could have easily been avoided had he taken the time to listen rather than interrupting the sister of the bride through her explanation of the problem. I personally did not have any issues with the front desk staff, and they were quite helpful to me but because they cleared caused the bride some anger and frustration on the day of her wedding, I can't give a positive review for them.
The second and more alarming issue we had with a staff member was a particular tall, skinny, darker skinned (can't remember his name) waiter in the banquet hall. Throughout the night, several people had noticed and indicated that this waiter wasn't very polite. I personally observed him speaking to several guests in a condescending and outright rude tone. It wasn't quite what he was saying but a lot more of how he said it. At the end of the night as guests were leaving the banquet hall area, he was observed by several people, including myself to have yelled loudly, "f... you" towards a few of the wedding guests who were also PAYING customers staying in the hotel. I did not see if the waiter was provoked in any way as I was walking the other direction but I find it UNACCEPTABLE for any staff member to speak in such a manner towards any guest of the hotel. There is no need for such language to be used at a wedding event especially by an employee still on the clock working for the venue. This is inexcusable.
Aside from these two individuals, we had a great time at the hotel but overall, I can't give a positive review.Comment from Monty C. of Biltmore Hotel 11/23/2010

We attended a dance party in the bar/lounge. The atmosphere & lighting were great. The dance floor was perfect. The DJ and music were the best ever. The buffet food was salty and mediocre at best. The restrooms were just OK.
