Location is great, the hotel is clean, inexpensive and has evertything you need. Hotel staff is fabulous. I think I found my new affordable hotel for the area.
My room didnt have a refrigerator however they delivered some ice to my room. I also checked the website prior to my arrival to see if they had a cd player or an ipod docking station - no such luck so I brought my own.
I'll be back!
I stayed there as a package of flight-hotel-car the other day. Since I got quite a bit of discount, I shouldn't have expected too much out of this place. Well, this place outdid my lack of expectation.
First, when you hear a business station, you would imagine a separate room with a computer or two and a printer, right? This place just allowed a customer to use a computer at the front desk without any privacy. All right, I thought; at least I can do some work here. So I tried to open the PDF file I downloaded the other day, and this computer flicking didn't allow me to open that file! And that was not because that computer didn't have Adobe Acrobat! Later that day, I tried to print my boarding pass, and the browser couldn't open the copy. Big sigh.
Somewhat disappointed, I retreated to my room. The inside was pretty clean and functional. While the interior was not as classy as Beverley Heritage Hotel I've stayed a few times, it was definitely doable. The bed was pretty comfortable.
But then, I was somewhat surprised that the room didn't offer any complimentary shampoo. I forgot to bring mine, but thankfully only had to stay one night, so I could survive without washing my hair. I guess I could've asked the front desk to get me one, but have never seen a business hotel without a bottle of complimentary shampoo. Instead I saw two small bottles of lotion. I am not really sure just how many days one would need to use these two bottles...
Oh well, at least the soaps were in good quality, so I decided to just wash my hands. Then, I noticed that the faucet was very close to the wall that hanged a mirror. That made stopping the water flow somewhat difficult. That might simply be an installation mistake, but couldn't this hotel detect that obvious inconvenience and fix it? Not everyone has a small hand so reaching there wouldn't be an issue.
At least I was looking forward to the continental style breakfast. The ticket even said Japanese, so I was hoping for some nice food. But once I got there early morning, the "Japanese" food was just badly cooked rice and instance miso soup. Oh wait, there were some pickles too! Yey, I got to enjoy a nice Japanese breakfast in America! What a savior! ...Of course what I just said was a sarcasm. I was going to fill my stomach with this breakfast as much as possible, but after this arrangement of "Japanese" food and decent American food (at least they had some stir-fried veggie), I just got tired of eating more than usual, and decided to take off from the hotel earlier.
So all in all, staying there was just OK. I'll probably try other place next time.
I didn't stay at this hotel, but I looked onto it as a possible venue for my upcoming wedding.
It recently had a major re-model, and the lobby and hotel rooms are clean and nice looking.
The banquet room is adequate. It's spacious. Not overly elegant, so if you have your wedding here, you'll have to invest in some decor.
Kristi Canfield, the events coordinator, was great to work with. She was always polite and answered all of my questions. I bugged her for weeks via email asking a million questions (yeah, I was kinda Bridezilla) and she was always patient and helpful.
The wedding packages are totally customizable and the prices are decent (much less that all of the other hotels wed packages in Santa Clara county.)
The downside is the food. Usually, venues will give you a complimentary tasting after you book and place a deposit. Kristi gave us one before contract. My fiance & I tried two main entrees with sides. It was horrible, but I thought it was just the particular dishes we tried. I told Kristi this and she let us have another tasting so we could try other two other dishes. It was still awful! The prime rib tasted like pancake syrup. I am not exaggerating when I say that the other entrees tasted like hospital food.
Perhaps it's just me, though, being picky about my food.
This place is worth checking out!
I was given a tour of the rooms and they are really nice and clean and don't smell at all!
I liked this place better the second night, but I wouldn't make any effort to come back. They upgraded me to a suite for free, which was very nice but not the type of place I'd get to try to impress somebody. The TV system was lousy, but the internet was free and fast. Bed was adequate and the cleaning service thorough. The weight room is small and some machines were out of order.
The breakfast food was so bad I didn't dare pay for other meals there.
As others mentioned, the location is a hassle.
For the price we paid, not the best value we got for staying 3 nights.
Rooms are okay, we stayed out in the courtyard. Very noisy though, because the housekeeping personnel door is in the court yard and there's always someone pushing carts of linens throughout the day. The bathroom looks like a motel bathroom. The hardware and door knobs aren't even update for a "hotel and suite." Overall the impression seemed to be an upscale motel...
Their banquet service is mediocre. They have a common coffee/tea table in the banquet room hall. Go elsewhere for banquet service.
They have a tiny Starbucks espresso stand across from the front desk. The lobby is new and renovated.
Another downside: horrible food at the two restaurants inside the hotel.
Upside: friendly and courteous staff.
Let's start with the fire alarm, since that was truly the highlight of my short visit...
The fire alarm is located in the room. In a fire that is a great thing, but first thing in the morning at seriously Van Halen levels is a bit much. So I make my way down the stairs and wander aimlessly out to the front of the hotel. There I get to meet some of the other guests while we wait for the fire trucks to arrive. Turns out this happens every morning, so their advice was to get out to the office by 7am to avoid the fire alarm. neat idea.
After waiting for the all clear, I have a perfectly sad and depressing breakfast in their Ramada Inn cafe.
On checking out I mention the fire alarm and suggest that perhaps they could serve coffee in the parking lot if its going to happen every morning. The clerk mentions that they hope to eventually figure out why that happens every morning. no apology, no explanation.
maybe me no stay here any more...
Stayed here for 3 nights. Its not bad, really, but I have some gripes.
Pros:
* Clean, spacious suite.
* Breakfast buffet is good. Custom omelets, fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, cereal, milk, all the oj you can drink.
Cons:
* In the middle of office park mania. Oh, and getting into the parking lot is crazy, just like the rest of this whole city, you need to merge to a right lane that starts and ends in 20 yards with offramping mofo's driving 60 mph into the same lane. What's with that Santa Clara!?!?!?
* Only like 20 channels on tv. Maybe I'm spoiled.
The HR Cherbill Doctor Costales works here and she is so nice I love this hotel because of the friendly staff!
