Where the sidewalk ends... and where you can spend a day on a Florida beach not a Miami beach. Think family and friends.

You'll pay $1.50 to jump the bridge and then it's $8 per vehicle. Please pay attention to the mosquito warning so you can be sure to know that repellent might be in order.

This is an easy to place to come with a cooler and a picnic since there are so many pavilions and picnic tables although there are dining options inside the park.

You can also rent bikes, kayaks, and hydro-bikes. This is a good option for someone wanting to go to the beach and no deal with parking issues or South Beach hassles.

The beauty and quiet of nature at a few steps from downtown Miami.

I totally love this park! This is truly heaven (when it's not crowded by tourists or family gatherings on the weekend!)

Obviously, the miamian weather can slightly alternate ones point of view with heat or tropical storms but during the fall season or winter I usually enjoy riding the bicycle in the park till the light house, swim and stay on the beach for a few hours and climb stairs of the lighthouse to watch the sunset. Amazing pictures and memories!

The park is to avoid during summer and national holidays. The beach is small so it get crowded pretty quickly. My advice would be to rise early rise or an evening walk with you favorite person/ pet/ whatever.

I can't wait for the summer to be over to go back!

Off on a staycation from work and decided to make it a beach day with my friend and sister. We decided on El Farito (the Little Lighthouse) that's what us Latin folks call it to have a day in the sun.

I haven't been here in a while. This park is amazing the landscape the beach and the serenity of the ocean. We rented an umbrella with 2 chair and had a mini picnic. The water was nice and cool but the sand was extremely hot. Not the fault of the park just the weather. The beach was well kept and garbage in its place.

I notice that the umbrella guy was nice to place a lady personal umbrella in the sand. Nice guy. Don't try to get away without paying the guy came back like 3 times until he found some people that had not payed for their umbrella use.

The lighthouse has been restored beautifully and you can climb to the top. I notice people enjoying the view from the top. I personally want to come back and climb to the top myself. They closed off the rock so people don't climb on them and get hurt I assume.

We had a great day!

To enter Key Biscayne it was $1.50
To enter the Park it was $8.00
To rent an umbrella with chair $20
Spending a nice day out in the sun with my sister and my best friend... "Price Less"

LOL I had to do it.

Dear Bill Baggs (Cape Florida State Park),

I have spent almost all 29 years of my life coming here.  Whether its been birthday parties or just spending some QT with my family, there have been many adventure here.

You suffered a lot with Hurricane Andrew, but almost 15 years later, you seem to have recuperated a lot!  Your foliage and natural scapes surpass all other beaches in South Florida.  Here, you can truly see what our beaches looked like in native times, before growth and industry.

The Lighthouse at the end of the park is not only a historical landmark, but a wonderful place to see all that South Florida really is!

Oh Mr. Baggs, we have so much to thank you and be grateful for.  This park is amazing and has so much to offer, and for that, we are indebted.

From the restaurant, to the bike trails, from the marina, to the beaches and playground, there is truly something for everyone to do here.  Even camping!  :)  You are THE BEST park in South Florida for any kind of daytime activity one can think of.  Thank you for offering so many activities.

And for me, the best part is, I work down the street.  So there are many times I come and visit you during my lunch hour, and you provide me with peace and quiet and just a place to collect my thoughts in the middle of an ever-so-busy day.

With Love,
Sabrina*

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is really awesome.  So much to do - bike riding through the park is great!  Lots of family quality time to be had here.  Bring a picnic lunch or eat at the yummy restaurant they have.  Don't forget your suit as they have a beach you can lay out on as well.  Lots of sea grass here so if you like a clean ocean floor, this is not the water for you.  But it's worth going into the park to see all it has to offer.  The lighthouse is fantastic and if you like taking pictures, you'll get a lot of good shots here.  Don't forget to visit the cottage oh - and they have a fishing area as well.  Lots of parking, lots of activity.  If you visit state parks in Florida often, might be worth getting a State Park Annual pass.  :)

It's one of the most famous landmarks in Florida. With its short distance from Miami, it's worthy of spending one or two hours going there.

I took the long spiraling iron steps to the top of the lighthouse, 95 feet from the ground. The top had a small balcony area where you could step out the lighthouse and look out. Visitors went up and down smoothly as everyone was pretty carefully walking on the narrow stairs.

The cottage was well restored and furnished. The beach close-by was mainly families so tourist might find it strange here.

The drive from Miami to the park was scenic and smooth outside traffic hours.

I love the beaches here. They're not wide but I love all of the natural flora around and it feels a bit secluded. Great place to relax and there are grills too!

Cape Florida SP is a delightful respite from Miami at the south end of Key Biscayne. In contrast to Crandon, a more sports oriented park (tennis courts and so forth), Cape Florida is more of a natural setting (it's still a bit sparse due to the decision after Hurricane Andrew to replant only native species). There's an oceanfront beach, the lighthouse, a seawall and some fishing piers where the ocean meets Biscayne Bay (no swimming here), some nature walks, and a very good Cuban fish joint as well. You can also arrive by sea in the man-made marina. Full beach services (dressing rooms, showers) are on the ocean side. A great afternoon getaway.
