Great place for Bikram. Also, really good deals with Groupon.

So I've done yoga before but not Bikram. I saw an amazing groupon deal and scooped it up. Indeed it is very different and talk about nervous! However the teachers were great, really eased tension with helpful tips to adjust to the 105 temp. The poses are a challenge but knowing you can go at your own pace and sit down when needed is a relief.
This is an AMAZING workout. I've never sweat so much in my life and I played group sports as a young adult! I only hope to get into a routine and go more often! The only suggestion would be more showers. However I am perfectly happy with this new workout I discovered at this great little studio. -

I have been to many Bikram studios and I really love the instructors here. They are friendly and they do their jobs well.
Bikram isn't just another hippie yoga happy mind class. Health benefits are touted all around town, but I love Bikram because I feel mentally and physically recharged after every class. My muscles feel tighter and more toned, and my body craves things that are good for it.
Bikram is not an exercise everyone will love, but it is an exercise everyone should try. I got both of my parents to take a class and they really enjoyed it. People of every age and body type take the classes and they are adaptable to your skill level.
I agree that the carpet is not the most conducive to sanitary conditions, but they clean it regularly and are careful about requiring towels to protect the floor.
Keep an eye out for their groupons. They aren't just for newbies, regulars can also enjoy the benefits of reduced rates a few months out of the year. -

My sister and BF are visiting from Holland and Bikram Yoga is big there too. She no longer likes vinyassa or even being outside, she needs the heat for better poses. They have an awesome instructor they love out there but each one has their strengths. They liked how our instructor today explained how the savasana dead body pose was so important between poses and how we cut off circulation to the rest of your body so when you lie down and rest in the pose all the blood rushes to joints and anywhere your body needs it. My sister could focus on what was happening and feel the blood move throughout her body. They also don't get cold towels in Holland. That was a treat.
It was like that Groupon was meant for them. They flew in on the day it was sold and won the lottery! She needs the stretching and the pushes herself to an almost painful point because she needs that and is not a gym weight lifting person. It balances out her mental stability.Listed in: Take a spin around Annapolis,…

Review from Danielle H.

This studio was recommended by my Pittsburgh studio owner, and while it was a liiiiitle bit out of the way from the family I was visiting over the holidays in Silver Spring, MD, I gave it a try. So very glad I did! It was a warm, clean, inviting space (albeit a little hard to find from street level - I spent a good 5 minutes panicking that I had the address wrong & I was going to miss my class!). The students were all focused and disciplined in class, but very friendly and welcoming in the lobby & locker room, both of which I appreciated. Max was the instructor, and I was really surprised to learn he'd only been teaching a year - I loved his mellow, confident way of teaching. Annapolis is lucky to have this little spot!

Review from Karen A.
Both of Annapolis' studios, Annapolis and Severna Park, are wonderful places to practice. The staff is friendly and professional, and I have learned a lot from the teachers here. One of the nice things about these studios is that there is a lot more attention paid to the aesthetics of the hot room than other studios I've been to (in terms of light fixtures etc.) which is a nice touch. The locker rooms are small (especially at Severna Park), which usually keeps me from showering here. But these are wonderful studios regardless.
My FAVORITE part of these studios has to be the cool towels! When you finish your 90-minutes class in the toasty 105-degree hot room and are laying in your final savasana, the teacher gives you a washcloth that has been sitting in a tub of water in the refrigerator. It seems like something simple, but after 90 minutes of working out in a sauna, that little washcloth is a slice of HEAVEN! I've never been to another studio that does that and always look forward to it here!
The carpet is not my favorite, but recently they deep cleaned it and to help preserve its "freshness," the teachers will now get you to do standing separate leg stretching, triangle and standing separate leg head to knee postures on your towel (versus standing over your towel like other studios may get you to do). Hopefully that will help with that wonderful and distinctive Bikram yoga smell! -

Let me begin by saying I usually prefer Hot Vinyasa Flow to Bikram. However, after purchasing a Groupon I figured I would give Bikram another shot. The staff is very friendly and dedicated to maintaining all the core elements of Bikram. Yes, the place smells (mentioned in previous review), but I guess I am one of those weirdos who does not mind it. You know the saying, "no pain, no gain". I guess a modified version for Bikram goes something like " no sweating, no true Bikram workout". The carpet actually helps you stay in the poses, as opposed to sliding off your mat. Benefit? You can actually work on your posture and form instead of worrying about falling out of the pose.
Bikram seems to serve a completely different purpose than other types of yoga I have practiced. I feel nothing short of amazing when I am finished and have not been as hungry as usual! I definitely recommend this studio to anyone who wants to get an amazing workout but also reap the many internal rewards of Bikram (cleansing, detox, etc.).Listed in: Naptown Fitness Junkie

Review from A C.

Updating my review - it seems like they have really gotten the smell in the hot room taken care of. I hear they have been cleaning a lot more thoroughly. Lately I have really loved coming to Bikram. At $20 a class, it is too expensive, so I have only been able to come once a week lately, but I wish I could come more. The instructors I have had lately - Kate, Caitlin, Emily and Phil have been absolutely wonderful. There is one instructor I did not like her attitude, but I have not seen her there in awhile. I really love when the teachers encourage you to go further in the pose, or if you don't have the pose exactly right, they come up to you and show you the mechanics of the pose to help you. I prefer this rather than just reciting the same rhetoric every time as though it doesn't matter what individuals are there - I like when they tailor it to the group and the individuals that are there for the class.

Review from Anna M.

First let me say I usually do hot Vinyasa, which I prefer to Bikram, but I will leave the style of yoga out of this. The teacher I had, Emily, was good, talked through the whole class. It was a crowded room but not unbearable. They have deals for new students for packages but not for classes, those are $20 for a drop it - way over priced for the workout. The worst part - and the reason it didn't get 3 stars, was that the room was carpeted. I've done a lot of hot yoga, I realize there are certain smells you cannot avoid but god this placed REEKED. I almost left when I first walked in and struggled through the whole class with how awful it smelled. I would not reccomend this place unless they took up the carpet and got hardwood (which would be a no brainier for them!)
