I love this place, so much. So very very much.

I have always heard about it, but never went until next summer. It's off to the side on highway 9, so unless you are looking for it you will not find it. It's small, and probably something to do for ten minutes. However the amount of big foot stuff the owner has collected is something to see. You do not have to pay to get it, but you should at least give a dollar in donation or something.

Great place to go if you don't have a lot of cash and want to have a laugh.

So, as a believer, I'm forced to question and even doubt the existence of my giant furry friend after visiting this museum.

The guy who runs this place is not a good face for the Cryptozoology movement. Here's a "debate" we overheard as we stopped in for a visit:

Visitor: "I believe the evidence for Bigfoot is mostly circumstantial, until they find a body no one will ever believe it. That video doesn't look legitimate to me"
Mike: (Museum Proprietor) "I've spent the last 5 years of my life doing nothing but studying the facts, you've spent the last 5 seconds. How can you question the validity of what I believe."

That's not a good way to deal with someone asking good faith questions.

Aside from that, this museum has a nice collection of Big Foot paraphernalia; from paintings to books to comics to plaster molds of foot prints. It's a fun place to visit, just don't go looking for proof.

I'm giving this place 4 stars because I like the effort. They'll need to earn the 5th star by developing their skills at answering the questions of a skeptical public.

Broke? Need a cheap place to take a cheap date to? Check them out for yourselves!

Come to BDM located in my town I call home, Felton. It's free! Well, a donation to the family will be very generous.

What? Where's Felton? If only I get a dime for every time I hear that.

Aren't y'all internet savvy or what?? Google Felton...  I'm tired answering that question. :-P OH WAIT! Please allow me!!!!

Interesting place to visit. The guy working there makes up for his horrible hygene with his feverent conviction that bigfoot does in fact exist throughout Santa Cruz County. The woeful lack of evidence for bigfoot (not one single bone or fossil, no credible sightings, lack of food to sustain primates, the necessity of relatively large populations to ensure breeding - again where are the sightings?) does not deter him. He readily shows videos of "bigfoot" (which are actually videos of distant nocturnal shadow fluctuations), as well as sound clips of bigfoots (bigfeet?) communicating (which sounds like some guy trying to imitate what he thinks such a beast might sound like. I give three stars for the pure delusion factor of that guy. Really bizarre experience overall. And yes, the museum is smaller than a small bedroom.

Now how are you going to give a museum dedicated to Bigfoot anything less than 5 stars?  It's small but just the prominently displayed tabloids with a claim like "Bigfoot Hooker" with pictures are worth coming here for.

The Bigfoot diorama outside must be a sight to see when you come upon it at night and the reflectors hit you.

They show Bigfoot movies outside on Friday night, and although I can't come up with anything other than "Harry and the Hendersons" I am curious.

Best of all - this shop is run by a true believer and hearing him discuss the history of the findings is worth the trip.

Other than that - it's free and the drive to get here is gorgeous.

I have been obsessed with "cryptozoology," er, the Bigfoots of the world, since 4th grade, when my teacher Mr. Levy SWORE he heard the hairy beast outside his tent while camping.

I read about the Bigfoot Discovery Museum and dragged a bunch of my pals to it for my birthday.  It is off of a windy road in the Santa Cruz mountains.  You are surrounded by huge trees and greenery-  you can easily imagine the Yeti rockin' out from the shrubbery to attack you.

We pulled up to the museum, which is really just a small building with some drift wood carvings of the mythical beast outside.  Inside, there are a bunch of toy Bigfoots, and a bunch of Weekly World News articles featuring the beast.

As far as any real empirical evidence, you have come to the wrong place.  The guide at the museum DID have pictures-  pictures of people who knew people who knew people who had MAYBE seen Bigfoot.  We learned that Bigfoot supposedly liked cinnamon graham crackers.  Um, OK?

It was a hilarious and funny time, even if I still did not talk my friends into the"realness" of the Yeti.  Me and Mr. Levy will have to believe on our own.  Sigh.

Since we were nearby at Fall Creek Unit of Henry Cowell SP &  I remember reading about the Bigfoot Discovery Museum on Yelp we stopped by.

Directions from 17 South, exit Mt. Hermon Rd, Lt on Hwy 9, pass Henry Cowell SP.  Cross street: San Lorenzo Ave.

FREE Admission, suggested donation $1-2.

It's a tiny museum and smells kinda funky.  Lots of old books, old movies, things to read on the walls, a film was playing when we went and the guy was busy talking to others in the museum/shop.

I liked the wood sculptures of Bigfoot & other stuff outside the museum.

If you're in the area, might be worth a few minutes to look around or a good laugh!  V. was rolling on the floor laughing.

It's a Bigfoot Museum.  You gotta give it 5 stars just for that.

Doesn't compare to the Bigfoot Museum in Willow Creek, however.  Now THAT is a Bigfoot Museum!!  This was just a small shack with about 1/10th as much stuff as the Willow Creek museum.  The guy working there was pretty interesting though, loved telling everyone stories of his personal Bigfoot encounters ("with his own two eyes" nonetheless).

If you're a true Bigfoot aficionado, you're probably not going to be exposed to anything new, but you're probably going to come here no matter what I say anyways.

As an added bonus they were having a garage sale outside to raise money for the museum, selling all sorts of oddities!  They had a megalodon tooth (not for sale) and tons of other big shark teeth, dinosaur teeth, bones, etc.

Don't go too far out of your way for this "museum", but if you're in the area (on the way to the Garden of Eden at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, maybe?) then be sure to stop in!

What a hilarious little stop on 9.  Lots of little bigfoot memorabilia in this little shop.  The owner will tell you all the stories about his bigfoot research and about anything you want to know about bigfoot.   I think this is a great little spot to visit especially I could see how it would be fun for the kids.  It's free to look around they just ask for a dollar or two donation.  So it's cheap and fun little place, wish they sold stickers or something so I could have a little memento of the place.  Quite fun, weird, and quirky little place.

What would the Santa Cruz mountains be without The Mystery Spot and the Bigfoot Museum!

This modest little museum will make a believer out of you.  Even if not, you can still leave with a Bigfoot Museum bumper sticker or shot glass.  I did.

There's shelves filled with a huge collection of various Bigfoot magazines, articles, figurines, photos and the like.  Even some of that creepy Bigfoot that Steve Austin fought in that Six Million Dollar Man episode.  Remember him?  Terrifying.  Anyway, the gentleman who runs the Museum is nice enough.  If you chat him up, he'll show you the big Northern Cal map on the wall full of pushpins where different sightings have occurred.  He'll even tell you of his own Bigfoot encounter that happened when he was a boy.

There are Bigfoot footprint plaster casts, and outside, there are two GIANT life sized Bigfoot replicas.  Awesome.  And admission is free.  If you're going over the hill, do yourself a favor - take Hwy 9, and drop in on Sasquatch.  He'll be hairy glad to see ya.

I was so sad when leaving the big foot museum and finding out that i knew more about big foot than the big foot museum did.  It's really small, about the size of my kitchen.  There's just a bunch of book and post cards and when you try to ask them real questions they don't have any real answers.
All I got was a picture I took in front of the big wood carving outside of the museum, which is the coolest thing.  The castings are not convincing at all.

Big foot museum you get a side ways thumb, because I really wanted it to be good, and I still like the idea of the museum.

Bigfoot! Fun little stop if you are in the Santa Cruz Mtns... Definitely not a destination spot, but fun none the less. The old guy (believe his name was Michael) at the counter is fun to talk to... ask him about what is happening in the mountains! If you are driving by, you gotta stop!

True, the Bigfoot Museum is not what it could  be, but I consider it worth a look just for the kitch factor.  I love me some bigfoot so I was excited when this place popped up in my own backyard.  I am kinda underwhelmed by the museum but they have a great yearly confrence that is really worth the time.  Even though I'm not wowed by the place I'm glad they are part of Felton
