This place is great. It's almost an exact copy of Big Wong, but it is on the other side of the street.

I just had the pan fried noodles, salt and pepper pork chops and the lobster! If you order a lot of food, the 2 lobster for $20 dollar deal is cheaper! It's an awesome draw to come in. However, I think the quality of the ginger scallion lobster is not consistent... Sometimes it tastes fresh but most of the time it tastes unfresh.

But it is open late and delicious.

We were wandering through Chinatown trying to locate a dim sum destination, but quickly realized that we were too late to enjoy a full-on experience.  Instead, we opted to partake in a standard Chinese meal, though we had no idea which new restaurant to try.  We happened to pass Big Wing Wong and its rare A rating, so I immediately offered that up as an option.  I had also eaten at the nearby Big Wong King in the past and had hoped that the two were somehow affiliated, given the similar names.

Regardless of what drew me into the space, I was glad to have ended up there.  The friendly service was truly inviting, and the food was delicious.  The Seafood Delight included jumbo shrimp, squid, fish cakes, crab meat, baby shrimp, and scallops which were all spectacularly fresh.  The seafood was sauteed with snow peas and served in what was supposed to be a garlic sauce.  While the glaze was more of a white sauce, it was full of flavor.  The Sauteed Mixed Vegetables was a heavenly medley of broccoli, green pepper, baby corn, and onion.  Sure, the plate may have been so greasy that the health factor was almost negated, but the taste was to die for.  Their white rice was a bit sticky, but not overly mushy.

I hope to find my way back to Big Wing Wong during a future Chinatown excursion...or I better at least stumble upon another gem just as delightful.

Pretty good. Came here one night after the gizmodo conference. I was expecting he food to be cheaper but it wasn't too bad.

The duck my friend got was cold and I would say that going there at the end of the night was not the best idea- we got cold food.

Never the less, it was tasty.

Pretty normal, run of the mill joint, i guess...

Ate here before and this time, I sat with a stranger right across from me. (Please note that if you don't like sharing table with strangers, you may have to wait REALLY long time)

First off, the food is CHEAP. Delicious? Depends on what you get. I got noodle in soup with duck, which was salty like japanese ramen and duck wasn't bad. Not top notch but for 6bucks, who'd complainin'?
Their meat dishes kind of all taste VERY similar,
The soy bean that is salty when you bite into it and the soysauce base sauce which engulfs the meat. The chicken/ beef are both tender, not too bad and beef not too chewy, but still all around 5-6 bucks per dish.

There were 3 of us total and we ordered 5 dishes. Our bill came out less than 30 bucks. and we had to un-button to let our bellies be free.

Looking for Cheap filling meal? This is a place to go. NOTE- CASH ONLY!!

    Roast duck review only!

Came in here with my dad to buy a whole roast duck. $19 out the door. Nice bird with real crispy skin and not so greasy inside. Only downside is that the duck gravy (note: not to be confused with this 'duck sauce' that dominates Chinese takeout places on this coast) is mostly just soy sauce with a little bit of duck flavor.

$19 is not bad. I walked by a place on Mott later that had the balls to charge $30 for a roast duck!

I like my food to be cheap and tasty. Big Wing Wong was cheap and bland. I ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup and found the broth to be overly watery and my noodles were overcooked. The wontons however were big and filled with shrimp. For $5 I guess I can't complain but if I paid a dollar more I could have had halal... which is cheap and tasty. Just sayin

Incredibly good chinese food for cheap. For under $13 got a huge plate of chicken LoMein and a super-flavorful Roast Pork Omelet on Rice. The Omelet was a random choice from the menu, but was one of the best chinese dishes I've ever had.

Next time I think I'll have to try their Congee with the fried breadsticks.

Big Wing Wong is fast and furious. I ordered two entrees, beef chow fun and black bean stir-fried beef over rice and they are done in 5 minutes.

The food is delicious and the portion is gigantic. It only costs $12 but it is more than 2 meals for me.

I've been here twice.  Both times I ordered the delicious steamed fish with yummy bok choy.  I also sampled duck which was very tasty, dumplings which were good but nothing too special, and the best, I mean the best general tso chicken I've ever tasted.  I did notice the usual fare found in fast-food Chinese spots are pricier than the rest of the menu (ie. the general tso was nearly $10 while the other entrees were about $5).

Service both times was simply not good, but the food and prices do make up for it.

Still this isn't my first option for Chinese in the area, but I'll go back willingly at other people's suggestions.

I've been here a few times now with various friends, and I'm a fan.

Their latest deal is the $20 for two lobsters (cooked chinese-style). Very yummy! Totally worth it. All the other dishes here are also pretty good, although the over rice and over noodle dishes tend to be a bit greasy and takeout-like. I like the eggplant in oyster sauce and string bean in fresh garlic sauce. One thing to note, though, is that the double delight in bird's nest does not actually come with a bird's nest (the fried noodle bowl). My friend was sorely disappointed last time we came here.

Totally awesome! I didn't know what to expect walking around Manhattan Chinatown looking for something to eat. Didn't have any expectation and just wanted to try new food, we came here. Just like any Chinese restaurant, seating was ok standard, and enough seating that we get to pick our spot and table. One great thing is that there LOTS OF UNCLES working there so service was very sweet!  Working as a team, they service everyone who needs assistance. I love that! Team work and its hard to find them around restaurant setting nowadays as one person is in-charge and service you because of tip or just that standard.

$20 for 2 lobster deal is hella of great! I just it's a running special that is going on and so I was open and try it.. Yummy! Lobsters are about 1  1/2 pound each and it tasted FRESH! Very important when eating seafood... Juices between my finger and yum yum in my tummy! Along with their Chinese Tsingtao beer, it's a perfect meal. Order few other items and their duck noodle soup seem to be quite the popular demand there.  of the restaurant guest order that. I would like to try this next time.
I had come back here again to eat, just to make sure I wasn't too hungry when I 1st tried it. Again, same enthusiasm I have just like before. YUMMY IN MY TUMMY!

This is a great treasure hunt for anyone who looking for some good food and inexpensive meal. Come here and get 'service with a smile'! I love this place!

This place is almost the same as Big Wong and has also been in Chinatown for many years. It may look a little old and worn inside, but the food is excellent. They serve classic, authentic Cantonese food. The menu is practically the same as Big Wong's. The service is really fast and the food always comes out in less than five minutes. Their beef tripe soup , roast pork, and roast duck are especially good.

My papa knows Chinatown, and I mean after 25+ years of working and shopping and eating in the neighborhood, he really really knows it... and papa says Big Wing Wong has the best Roast Duck in Chinatown. He claims that the duck is more meaty and flavorful (tasty tasty sauce) than Big Wong. I cannot agree more, this duck is just slobberingly delicious with crispy skin and tender meat. nom nom.

2 Lobsters for 20 is a good deal. I liked the consistency of the lobsters but not the taste. Seems like they just threw a little bit of sauce and a whole lot of msg laden oil on top. Would not recommend it. Stick with the duck!

Grade A sanitation (at time of visit). Would go by self just for food. Affordable and great price for the quality of the food they serve. Probably the best Fujianese / Cantonese restaurant in Ch'town.

Their serving staff have been there for a very long time; I patronized the shop over three years and have seen recognize most of the serving staff. They are polite to certain point, attentive and quick with service. They are friendly to certain extend, if you are welling to venture out of your comfort zone and ask to try something new.

Try anything. Ask for stir fry Chinese vegetables off the menu. If they know it, they can make it for you off the menu.

I highly recommend mai fun wonton soup with grilled duck, lobster yee mein, any porridge, grilled pork, and any stir fry vegetables.

Wing Wong and Big Wong are practically bros. Same ducks and chicks hanging behind the window, long lines, except Wing Wong is smaller.

Wong Wong's food is as close to homemade food gets. I guess they have a more diner-like setting with all the seat arrangements and such.
Amazing roast duck and roast beef. Cheap meals, attentive staff, what's not to love about Wing Wong? The crowd on Saturday afternoons.

I used to come every Saturday and got my afternoon fix: beef and broccoli and a can of iced tea, less than $10. Holy. There's always this small, kind guy who took my order, the best! He's very visible and roams around the restaurant so you definitely won't miss him!

I'm been coming here and to Big Wong (further up Mott St) for breakfast. Congee to be exact. These two places will always be one of my favorites for congee.

Big Wing Wong and Big Wong's menu is pretty much exactly the same. Big Wing Wong is just a bit smaller than Big Wong. Otherwise, just your typical Hong Kong style food.

If you wanted to order non-breakfast items here, you have to wait until 8:30am.

The servers are always nice. The other day, they were actually giving everyone complimentary winter melon chicken soup...so yummy! And now there's a sign on the window advertising TWO LOBSTERS FOR $20!!! Darn, I'm hungry now.

This would be your standard Chinatown place. Roasted ducks hanging in the window. Limited decor -- paper prosperity signs and special menu items hanging on the wall. Brightly lit. Aromatic bathroom. Why is it that all Chinese restrooms smell exactly the same? But, most importantly, good, authentic Chinese food.

My family and I ordered to go. We got a shrimp and vegetable dish over rice, a fish and vegetable dish over rice, and a vegetable dish. It was all very delicious, and the cashier was friendly enough.

Been coming here for years.  Luckily this place is open early enough so one can get their fix early in the morning.  I ordered the Congee with pork & thousand year egg plus the fried dough for breakfast.  Also ordered the roast pork with rice for lunch.  Portions are big enough to share and I did exactly that with my co workers.  Lunch time take out can get pretty crazy and crowded.  So can eating here for lunch or dinner.  I have tried their pan fried noodle which is very good but a bit pricey.  They also have certain dim sum you can order for breakfast as well.   This is a definite stop for anyone looking for good quality food.

I passed by this place and saw that it was quite busy inside and also Zagat rated. Well we decided to try this place out since it looked popular and a lot of locals ate here.

I'm used to eating in places where they ask you what you want the minute you sit down. The minute we sat down we didn't even take more than one glance to read the menu and the waiter starts to ask what we wanted to order. He seemed to be in a real hurry to get us out of there. Being Chinese myself, I was used to eating quickly, getting the check and leaving quickly. This place was no different, order fast, get your check literally with your order and leave. We shared a table with two other people. I didn't really like that because they didn't even ask if it was okay with us. Service wasn't that great and we asked for tea more than once before someone filled our cups. I'm not really picky when it comes to service as long as the food is good. Oh and they didn't even give us change back! Would it kill them to give us the money back and leave it as tip? Don't assume we left you tip...

We ordered the beef chow fun and lobster yee mein. Both dishes were really greasy and we complained about too much oil in the noodles. The waiter said we could order it next time with less oil. Meh, I've had better elsewhere. The lobster was pretty decently size and had enough meat for 3 people to share the dish with. It's a few dollars extra for yee mien instead of pan fried noodles. The chow fun was not bad at all. It had plenty of beef and bean sprouts.

I don't think I'll be back unless I want to get harassed for staying here too long. This is not sit down place if you want to talk with friends. NEXT!

Chinese people are really funny.  Regardless of manners I still love coming here.  It's in my blood.  I like the prices, I like the food, I like the atmosphere.  Usually I would go in, order and within 5 minutes...out comes my order with the check.  It's ok, I'm chinese, I'm used to it.  Actually, I prefer it this way, eat, be happy, leave.

THIS time however, I brought my fancy slr and tripod with me because I was going to take pics of the supermoon right after some grub.  They brought out my food like normal (bigger portion), they didn't leave the check with me, they refilled my tea automatically (WTF?), and kept walking back and forth staring at me.

Only conclusion I came to was they probably thought I was a reporter or reviewer or something (which i am...yelp, anyway).  Anyway, keep the prices down Wing Wong and the portions hearty and you can throw the check at me anytime!

My first fiver review and it's a chinese restaurant. Go figure.

Once in a blue moon I take my parents out and 9 out of 10 times this is where we go. staying true to chinese restaurants in new york you can find cheaply made tables, chairs and decor as well as bathrooms from hell. But you don't come here for the environment and the food they serve here is always good and always comes out fast. During peak hours you might have to wait for a table but its never that long. Price wise, you can't beat it three people can eat here for under 20 bucks. This place makes for a great real inexpensive outing if your not trying to impress anyone. It's so well price there's no reason not to stop by and try it.

Came here for lunch.. My mom brought me here after we did grocery shopping. My mom and I shared Congee and roasted duck lai fun. Congee was OK not that it would make me come back again. The lai fun wasn't what I expected to be but nonetheless great ducks on the top. The waitress was not attentive at all. She totally blanked out. She was probably flying to Mars. She gave us 2 plates when she knew we ordered stuff that came with bowls. How am I going to eat congee with plates? So we had to ask another waiter for a bowl so we can share the food.

At the end I said to my mom, "We should get pho instead."
"Agreed, but why didn't you take me there?"
"Well you chose this place so I accommodated you"

I loved going to Chinatown when I was a child; all the sights and sounds and hustle bustle always fascinated me.  We used to head over to here to satisfy our need for Chinese food, when we weren't in the mood for whatever we could eat in Flushing.

Having since moved to the SF Bay Area in California, there are times where I genuinely miss cheap, fast, sometimes greasy but always flavorful Cantonese food.

Big Wing Wong really hit the spot.  I showed up late (almost closing time, 9:45PM-ish) and ordered a bbq pork (char siu) wonton noodle soup and yang chow fried rice to go.

Within 5 minutes, I had my food and was anxiously anticipating my meal.

The noodle soup was MMMM MMMM GOOD.  Love the yellow egg noodles, the generous, big chunks of flavorful bbq pork and the numerous wontons with their chunks of pork and shrimp.  YUM.  Def a must have.

The yang chow fried rice was delicious too.  Bbq pork, whole shrimp, peas, green onions, egg, rice, etc.  Fragrant and hearty.

I grabbed some hot sauce to go too.  Turns out they make it themselves and it is really tasty.  It was a nice condiment with the noodle soup and rice.

I believe I paid $12 or $13 for both items.  Not super cheap but not expensive either.  Portions were humongous though.

This is the stuff of my childhood.  4 stars for nostalgia, friendly service and being able to serve up comfort food just the way I remembered it.

Whoa what is up with the HUGE Zagat rating poster on their wall? Everyone knows yelp is better!

This place is a staple in the neighborhood frequented by locals and tourists alike. My go-to combo to order is one of their congees (they have so many varieties!) and the rice noodle wrapped fried crueller. But my favorite dish here is the boiled chicken to dip in soy sauce. The chicken they use is a live chicken probably killed recently. There isn't a lot of meat but the flavor is fresher than your everyday Perdue bird. I have also picked up the bbq pork and soy sauce chicken to go, both were great the next day upon reheat.

Medium sized, open restaurant with plenty of two-tops and larger round tables for groups of 6, any more and you'd have to start moving tables around.

We came in around 8:45 (they close at 10) for some soup.  I got the wonton mein ($4.75), she got the wonton mein with roast pork ($6.50).  We also ordered vegetable spring rolls (3 for $3.75).

The free tea is always nice in chinatown, this stuff was particularly flavorless, but no bigs, I was looking for water anyways.

Our soups came out well ahead of the appetizer, which was fine because we were hungry. The size of the soup is on the medium-small side.  I had 5 wontons in my soup.  Some were pork, some were shrimp, some were pork and shrimp.  They were very tasty and even seemed fresh.  The broth was fatty and rich, I spiced it up with some of the hot sauce - texas pete - on the table, which was a nice, but unexpected, east meets west side to the meal.  The noodles were fine, nothing to write home about, I just wish there was more food.  The pork in my partner's dish was excellent.

The Spring Rolls were flavorless,  heavily fried and oozed grease.

After tip our total was $18, which makes this almost a $$ restaurant, which is crazy, we didn't even order that much.  I can pretty confidently say that I'll never come back, I much prefer N.Y. Noodletown on Bowery.

Another one of those places in Chinatown with cheap and pretty decent food. The review is only based on their San bao rice and beef and tomatoes. I got the San bao for $6 dollars that was served with roast pork, roast chicken with a fried egg over rice. It tasted pretty decent but the meat weren't as good as some other places I have tried such as Hsing Wong. And the San bao rice at Hsing Wong also had crispy roast pork and bok choy and the serving was remarkably bigger.
My friend got the tomatoes with beef for around $5 dollars and it was just ok. The beef was a bit tough and it wasn't very flavorful.
the place was zero ambiance. Service was decent.
In my opinion, there are better places to go in Chinatown.

This place is the definition of authentic Chinese food.

They're packed most of the time, but once you're sitting, whatever you order is bound to be good, if not excellent.

My favorite dish: Yin Yang Chow Fahn (Shrimp/Chicken combo with amazing sauces, fried rice, peas, tomato...) If you don't like this dish, you're either allergic or crazy!

Another great dish: Stir fried beef and noodles, which can be replaced with your choice of Pork or Duck. Their soups are also really good.
