Oh Pink....I'm so sad I had to drop you a star. As of late, I have been disappointed when I have come to see you. My service has been neglectful, often times with my waiter going completely MIA for long periods of time & not ever checking up on me.

I have also been saddened that my precious waffles have been over done the past 2 times I ordered them....I am hopeful these are temporary glitches....or else I may be forced to drop you another star soon.....

Please Pink, Please make things right again!

Every now and then, an establishment surprises me and actually lives up to the adjective that it has bestowed upon itself. In this case: BIG. The portions at this place are itis-inducing large, from the overstuffed sandwiches to a lunch option that encompasses all that is naptastic about Thanksgiving in one neat plastic delivery box.

For delivery, I ordered a BLT with avocado on whole wheat, chips and a bottled root beer, and I was not disappointed. Plenty of fresh avocado, sprouts, tomato and loads of crispy, juicy bacon. The pickle on the side, however, did not tickle me at all! Flacid and flavorless, I took one bite and tossed the rest!

Despite what you've heard, when it comes to some things, size DOES matter, and Big Pink will satisfy even the most voracious of appetites.

Proving size matters, Big Pink.

The food is never particularly tasty, you'll never crave anything from Big Pink. Still, many are fans of their enormous portions and late hours. Presentation is also often good and service isn't bad. It's just the food that makes it less than stellar.

If you're going to go stick to simple, breakfast foods but overall, just keep it simple.

Big Pink... You are the schizzle, dizzle, minizzle don quizzle. (This means good) Your TV dinner rocked me to my very soul. You were so big so epic, I almost didn't finish you, but I did, because I couldn't stop pushing you down my throat. I had meat loaf, mash, French beans, corn bread, salad and dessert, all for around $13. Woo hoooo!

All my colleagues who ordered different items also had exceptional lunches. Everything just seemed extra large.

Big Pink? Please can I take you home to England.

P.s. Pete D had a chicken sandwich that seemingly had an entire chicken wedged between two pieces of bread. Clucktastic!

This place is a great place to stop up and refuel before drinking more! The rubens are fab! Lots of grub to choose from if you have a healthy appetite while drunk like me.

Love the little bucket of french fries as well.

Definetly give it a go! Well worth it!

I agree with another yelper... this place is sorta like a private super cool/fancy Denny's.  I used to live 2 blocks from BP.  It has some great diner food, but 90% of the time I get the TV dinner.  It is a great bang for the buck.  Imagine a huge stainless TV dinner tray with all the courses for $16.  It is tough to beat that price for dinner in South Beach... includes everything.

This place makes great shakes/malts also.

Talk about Sobe staples and everyone will mention the Big Pink!

Whether it's after a night of debauchery at the clubs or a late night craving for pancakes and milkshakes the Big Pink has got you covered.

I strolled over Halloween night expecting to see the freaks in costume and was pleasantly surprised by a quiet night with the wait staff in a particularly festive mood. They were all dressed up and ready to serve.

The food and staff here have yet to disappoint and I hope (knock on wood) they never do!

I've eaten here millions of times. Its probably the best go-to place after having spent a long day drinking at the beach. You've wasted all that energy under the rays, you and your buddies start getting that late lunch urge, and the Big Pink all of a sudden sounds like a good idea. Both their menu and the item portions are huge! You can continue your activities with their ample selection of beer, including (on draft) Shock top, the poor men's blue moon (understandably one of my favorites.) Their salads are a ridiculous specimen of what they like to call "the pyramid" dish, and you can't go wrong with their burgers, wraps and sandwiches. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a bucket of their homemade sweet potato fries, you wont regret it, specially if you're wandering about at wee hours of the night looking for that 4th meal to hit the spot.

The food is decent, the crowds are always entertaining and there's always some kind of sporting event broadcasting from their plasma tvs. Not bad at all....definitely worthy of a 3.5

People Watching!

Great place to go Saturday/Sunday afternoons or late late night. Super fun south beach oogaling.

Food is good but not great. The portions are huge but they reflect the prices. I recommend the hummus which was delicious. Service is slow and the place is super crowded so don't come in a hurry and definitely cab it to this place as the parking is slim to none.

Big Pink is tough to review because it unfortunately hasn't been as good as I'd hoped the last few times I visited the place.

Pros: The portions are huge! The burgers are pretty good (although the ventnor pizza burger has been pretty "meh" the last few times I ordered it). Also the fresh cut potato chips are amazing as are the fresh french fries!

Cons: As stated above, the pizza burger has been pretty crappy the last few times I visited (maybe its time to switch it up and get something new).

Bottom Line: This place has a massive menu and I'm fairly certain you'll be able to find at least one good thing to eat on the menu. There's more good than bad here, so hit it up when you're in S. Beach.

The Big Pink is a great option for delivery or for super late night diner food. The menu is huge so everyone can find something that they want. Sure its a little bit pricey, but you're on South Beach... get used to it. Today I had the meatloaf sandwich and was very pleased with my food. The brioche bun was extremely fresh and stood out as delicious. The potatoes had some rosemary and were very tasty. Also, the portions are very large... I have half of the meal in my fridge for tomorrow. Can't go wrong with big pink...

OMG!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE BIG PINK!!!!! The food is amazingly GOOD and in very LAARGE quantities. I cannot even begin to mention all the times Big Pink has bailed me out from very drunk summer days. My summer days usually begin with a drive to the beach and a drink from Fat Tuesday, after about 2 190 octanes and a shot of Patron Im about ready to call it a quits a trip to Big Pink will help absorb all those intoxicating fluids.lol Anywho the crabcake sandwich is my favorite and the Pulled pork sandwich is just perfect .

This place is great - if you like delicious food at a decent price and HUGE portions! I've had one of the cheeseburgers and the meatloaf. That meatloaf is so delicious - wrapped in bacon with the mashed potatoes and gravy. Goodness - it's delicious!! The "tv dinner" is a ridiculous amount of food - haven't ordered it but always tempted! There's always enough food to take home. Wait staff is very friendly and service oriented. You can sit outside and enjoy the South Beach neighborhood Big Pink sits in. You can also buy Big Pink souvenirs. Someone else says it reminds you of a penis, but I thought of something else...so needless to say, i do not own a Big Pink T-shirt!

*One thing I forgot - the parking is horrible.  If you are lucky and don't mind walking, you may find  a spot on the street and then just pay the meter - it will cost you about $2-3.  If not, you'll have to valet or park in a "lot" - about $5-15.  Completely ridiculous.

Im not sure what happened to these guys, they used to be a favorite late night destination.  The service is terrible, my last five orders there have been completely messed up.. Even after taking the time to explain my orders real slow and went over every detail.  The food quality has also gone down, oddly ever since Prive closed down. I only would come here if I was next to sick from hunger. Excellent fries and decent comfort food when they try howevere!

Eeeehhhh...... It was ok.

We went here for a late lunch. No crowds,  nice atmosphere. As many other reviews state, the service was slow. But with a huge menu to look over it wasn't that big of a deal.
We ordered the polenta fries for an appetizer. I was expecting something light and creamy but no. What we got resembled Lincoln Logs with a side of tasty ketchup. Not doing that again. The waitress later told us that they looked over-cooked ( as the pile of logs, I mean fries, was still sitting on the table by the end of our meal).
Craving pasta I ordered the Thai noodles. They should call it Peanut Butter Noodles with Shrimp. It was ok but it was missing the spicy oiliness that Thai noodles deserve. We also got the Salmon Pizza. I really liked this :-))

Portions were huge so I took the noodles home, added some EVOO and salt and made a dinner out of it.

Overall...decent food but eeeehhhh.

Like Denny's with more personality.  We stopped in for a quick breakfast.  The waffles were wonderful, as were the omelets!  We walked over from South Beach so we didn't have to worry about parking!  Food was reasonably priced.  One of the few places in South Beach that doesn't automatically add the gratuity which was great because our service was decent at best.

The food here is decent, nothing extraordinary but they have an extensive menu and I usually have enough left over for lunch the next day.

But, beware if you are ordering delivery.  They tell you it will be 45 min to an hour, but I can't even remember the last time they got me my food in less than 1.25 hours, which is pathetic even on the beach (especially when they don't warn you beforehand about the delay).  It's usually closer to 1.5 or 2 hours.  One time they took over 2 hours-- apparently there was some kind of "problem" with my order.  It was a cheeseburger, so I'm not sure what kind of problem there could have been with that, but whatever.  When the delivery guy finally got there he tried to sneak past the security at my building and got kicked out, then called me to tell me he had been thrown out and was leaving.  I would only recommend the delivery service to you if you typically order your meals 2 or 3 hours before you actually want to eat them!

See, the name of this place makes you giggle because it makes you think of a penis.

That aside, I have no idea how I truly feel about Big Pink. Yet, I constantly recommend it to people, and shout  from rooftops (not really) that it's one of my favorite places to eat in Miami. I always finish my food and feel satisfied when I leave. I also tend to think the menu is too big.

I suggest trying to sit outside. The inside is a little garish and themeparky. Outside, you will find stained tables, people with cute dogs, and gum to step in. For some, this is a drawback. For me, it coats the food with enough realism that it goes down even better...even when served in a bucket.

Yeah, buckets are one of Big Pink's little things. Personally, most of the bucket items would do just fine on a semi-washed plate. However, I think the sweet potato fries do very well in one. They keep their heat, and somehow look like they belong in the bucket. AND, they happen to be my favorite thing on the menu. Don't eat at Big Pink without having an order. Or, at the very least, have your richer friend order them and steal a few.

What else do I love there? In no particular order...
-Southwestern Chicken Salad. (if you're carb sensitive, tell them to skip the tortilla strips)
-Spicy Vietnamese Wrap
-Big Pink Meatloaf
-Any of the cakes. (especially if they are on the counter, and not  in the case...so much better at room temp).

In short (like me), you can rely on this place when you can't decide. It's also a great choice when you and your significant other are having one of those brutal fights over where to go for food. Suggest Big Pink...roll your eyes at them...and go get fat.

I HATE good portions restaurants type and Big Pink is famous for that. Yesterday I accompanied a group of friends after laying down the whole afternoon in Sobe. It's what people expect: cheeseburger with fries and immense salads (not fresh tomatoes). For better food in the same area try La Piaggia.

One good thing: the waffles are one of the best in Miami.

Our hotel was a block from here and en route of my early-morning-pre-blistering-heat runs or my jaunts to brown-via-burn on the beach.  No matter the time I strolled on by - this place was always packed and usually had a small crowd on the waitlist.  Do not fear the wait, because there is quick and high turnover at Big Pink.

Similarly, this place is great for all demographics: young & single, dates, kid-friendly, seniors, etc!   The friendly servers greet you with a huge muppet-sized menu of various fare and correlating gargantuan portion sizes.  Be prepared to share those huge portions, but don't hesitate ordering up because this is such great bang for your buck.  My carnivorous bro-in-law happily chowed down on the Chimichurri steak while my very veggie sister and I attempted to share (but did not finish) the monstrously fresh Mediterranean salad and enormous veggie burger.  I have no idea why, but I ordered a mug of Fosters here like some kind of burly pirate... and had no room to finish it. oops.

The prize at Big Pink is snagging outdoor seating, which is fun, prime viewing for Miami's best sporting event of people-watching!

Highly recommended.pura.vida.

Everything's bigger in South beach....? Well at least at Big Pink. This has got to be one of my favorite diners of all time. It has the look of a diner merged with a sports bar. So you get your fix of sports highlights and great diner food for breakfast. They do everything in a "big" way, so the menus are the biggest I've ever seen, large cups of coffee...but the food was actually really good too. I got the waffle and scrambled eggs. They were both great.

The food isn't awesome, but great for a Saturday morning after a night out. What really makes it is the atmosphere and the fellow hung-overees that join you at the super long tables so you get to meet new people as well.

--Highly recommended...a must visit before leaving South Beach. Either for morning brunch or drunk food after the clubs. I experienced it both times and it's great.

Big pink is my go to place for two things on the beach; waffles and buffolo chicken sandwiches. The fries are great as well. In fact I will say that all of the menu items are good and the location just off the beach is great. The only real problem is that the place is always packed and sometimes you will have to wait on a seat for a while. A great trick is to try to grab a seat at the bar. Service is rather hit or miss as often it seems the waitresses are hired for their physical attributes over their skill. All this said I love the place for the always great food.

One thing that never disappoints is their Niçoise salad with lovely rare tuna (sashimi really), fresh dark greens, generous sweet tomatoes, string beans and the oh so important hard boiled eggs.

This tourist trap actually delivers and if I'm kite surfing on the sound end, I always make it a point to grab some light fare there and proceed with my in-town weekend stay-a-way.

Decent bar with big screens to catch international soccer events and semi-pompous service, this is South Beach after all what did you expect!

4.5 stars!

On Friday night, after seeing De La Soul put on a great performance, we decided to have some of those "before you cross the bridge" munchies.  This place gets a lot of mixed reviews, but I will tell you this, I actually LIKED and ENJOYED my food!  And you know what, I've never really had a BAD experience here.  Ya service might be a tad slow, but hey, it's Big Pink...

So we ordered the Corn Beef Hash, French Toast, and a bucket of Sweet Potato Fries.  YUMMMM!  All of it was quite tasty.  The Corn Beef Hash came with eggs and toast, which was the bf's meal.  It was very good, and I had to fight with him to get a couple of bites!  The bucket-o-fries was just delicious!  Served with ranch dressing for dipping, we totally devoured those sweet potato slices of heaven!  My french toast ROCKED!  Nice and fluffy, super moist, and just mmmm mmmm good!  Especially after i doused it in maple syrup and butter.  :)  My comfort food!

So yes, it IS possible to have good food at Big Pink!  Or maybe the drunk munchies made it seem that way...?  Either way, it was a good time.  The characters that were in there at that time of the night were just hysterical!  And the people watching is a major plus.  Big Pink = BIG fun!

This place is like a diner and is quite lively. Their menu is huge and they have, an array of food to fit your needs. There is the greasy stuff to cure your hangover, great vegetarian selections, healthy alternatives and a must no matter what, is their macaroni and cheese and a bucket of fries.

Staff were great and very attentive, as much as this place is busy, we did not have to wait long for anything. All their food is reasonably priced and the portion sizes were quite generous. Start off ordering small, because Big Pink is hearty throughout!

I ordered the Big Pink hamburger and it was really good. The meat was very fresh and juicy. I asked for it medium, it came to me well done, but I didn't mind because it was very very tender and juicy. The bun was toasted on the grill just the way I like it. You can't go wrong with this burger.

I paid an extra dollar for the sweet potato fries and was seriously disappointed. The fries were just a soggy mess (and not quite cooked all the way as well).

It was a beautiful day. I sat outside enjoyed the sun and my burger. Not a bad way to spend a couple hours in Miami. Not bad at all.

Don't go to Big Pink for the food ... enough said !
IT deserves four stars because it is there ! Because it is possible to pick a bite before embarking on the trek back out west to that place called home. Because everyone there is happy to be there and everyone is happy that the place is there. What else can I say.
So here's a couple of tips that will make your visit a positive one:
1. Don't come for the food ... really ! at that point in the early morning, your body simply needs sustenance so a plain old sandwich will do.
2. Don't expect any good food !

The rest is just gravy - make this place a part of your memorable evening because you are not quite ready to go home and want to hang out a bit more.

Oh yeah - the waiters are rude but poor saps... you are out partying ... and they are not .. so evs.

Oh big Pink, how I miss you.
On on my recent vaca to south beach we drunkenly stumbled upon "Big Pink" after a few drinks we thought this was a hilarious name for a restaurant and we had no other choice but to check it out the next day for our morning hung over breakfast. OMG best pina colada in south beach, prices were reasonable, bagel with all the jazz.....fantastic. Who knew a bagel with cream cheese, with tomato, onion and capers on top(the jazz) would be so perf. South beach, I will be visiting you again only for your tacky men and big pink.

Fine neighborhood-style place with large portions. Food is serviceable not great, and it's a bit noisy, but all that said, it's a fair deal. If you want something fabu, this ain't it, and the style is nothing to write home about, but that's really the point. Decent neighborhood diner is out of style at the moment so BP is a useful resource. Yes it would be better if the portions were smaller (assuming they would use better ingredients) and the TVs were not so $%^$##! loud (get off my lawn!!!) but all in all it's a perfectly good stop in kind of place.

A little bored in Cape Coral having itchy-traveling-skin, we took off from home and drove to Miami. Just 2 short hours across Alligator Alley and yes, we saw alligators. Small ones with little chompers and scaly backs. How cute!

Not knowing anything about Miami, we immediately got lost and drove around in circles until somehow we got lucky and found South Beach. However, and this is the exciting part, we took another wrong turn and drove right by this place. It was in the middle of a rundown neighborhood that looked extremely dangerous. Dealers, vagrants and sketchers of all sizes and ages lined the streets but in the midst of it all, people were also lined up around the block below a big neon sign that said "BIG PINK"

Needless to say, we just had to go see what all the fuss was about. Luckily we did because this restaurant is awesome in every way a restaurant could be awesome.

Not real happy to do so, I parked my Mercedes down the street at an open spot and we walked towards the mass of humanity. A humanity that didn't seemed to be paranoid or looking over their shoulders like we were. Oh well, maybe that feeling would pass in the midst of good food.

The crowd outside was lively and excited, the crowd inside was even more fired up. Football games on the TV's cause there were many TV's. It was all spontaneous fun. People were having the times of their lives eating food and the seats were completely filled up and running over. No one seemed to mind the wait at all because there were plenty of seats outside to sit in in the sun.

So, finally we got in and sat down and were handed the biggest menu in the world, we could have flown home on it it was so massive.

HOW COULD I POSSIBLY PICK SOMETHING?

After much loud discussion and from the advice of our beautiful Cuban waitress, I hemmed and hawed and got a huge cheeseburger with the sweet potato fries. So did my Mom, the new party girl. And when the food came, it was even bigger than the menu was. The plates were giant and the food was overflowing over the sides of the plates. No way, Jose, could I finish all of this but I tried my best.

Sadly, it beat me. It was too much for my poor small stomach to handle and I had to get a doggie bag to take home and eat later.

The other neat things about this place is they deliver in little pink Volkswagens that go and come back like little butterflies. How do they do that and still stay open for 24 hours a day? I sure wouldn't want to deliver in their neighborhood at night, I barely stopped in the middle of the day it looked so beat up. No sidewalks, no paint on some of the surrounding buildings, ghettoish. Total blight in the burned-out economic climate that is Miami. It's really, really painful to see such a downfall. But I was lucky because I could look around and then leave.

My companion, again let's call her Mom, was so happy she even bought a BIG PINK hat and wears it proudly where ever she goes. What an unexpected, fun experience. I think about it all of the time now because it was just magical to come upon this little unexpected jewel. Praise God. So if you ever find yourself in Miami, go to BIG PINK, you will have the eating experience of your life. Guaranteed!

We love the food from Big Pink - just when you order for take out it takes most times 1 hour. But we love the food. The service - some of the team are great some so so. The last time we went we had a girl sorry forgot the name but she was amazing! She just had the best memory! Thank you very much.

This place is just a diner--and like any diner, they do certain things well and others, not so much.

Most importantly, the service is better than what you'll normally find in South Beach, and getting friendly service in South Beach is rare.  My friends and I don't go for the food, we go because we know we won't leave in bad moods from blatantly being treated poorly.  (If you go during late night hours, service is slower.)

Stick to simple foods:  I usually get the malted waffle, which for some reason is exceptionally tasty.  With ice cream, it's a dessert.

The Pinky's Hollywood Breakfast is a refreshing twist on an egg dish, served with spinach and cheese, and "polenta fries," which is just a moist corn cake.

Burgers, chicken, etc are fine.  Shakes are big and thick.  Um...what else is there to say about the food?  It's a diner, you eat here when you want a low-maintenance meal.

Try the bucket of homemade potato chips!
