I love the big lots in Troy. The workers there are very cordial and the products they have cover a wide range. From food to mattress toppers.
The 30 day money back return policy is nice too. -

Oh Big Lots, I've grown to love you. Short story - it's fun, check it out.
You offer some random crap I never knew I needed, but instantly wanted. Some stuff is a crapshoot, but you can sometimes find some quality closeout items.
You are a good store to buy stuff for someone moving into their 1st apartment. Cheap housewares and home goods.
You are a really fun spot to shop for food at. I never really know what's going to be on your shelves: high quality jams? really shitty processed canned meat? chicken broth? It's always a surprise. However, I like your snacky chips section. Usually something crunchy, salty, and satisfying to grab for a party. Or just for the hell of it. There was a period of time where they were selling Rap Snacks potato chips!! And they were good! Like, really good.
My husband is, no joke, a huge lover of Big Lots. This one time we were in Florida, FLORIDA, driving around looking for a place to buy sunglasses (because we were awesome and didn't think to bring any to the SUNSHINE STATE). I swear, they've put a Big Lots homing device in him, because after a few turns he managed to find the one Big Lots in goodness knows how many miles. AND IT WAS AWESOME - discount mortar and pestle sets. I would have bought one but likely would have killed someone with it falling out of my luggage on the flight home. That sucker was HEAVY.
Oh, and they've got this Big Lots Rewards club thing, where you rack up credit with purchases to get money off in the future... you know, like most other places with club cards. But it's kind of a hassle to set up, especially if there's a line, and my BL lovin' husband has tried setting one up at least twice and it never 'sticks' in the system, so just don't bother with it. -

Great place to shop! This Big Lots (located in the Troy Plaza) was formerly Ames and Barkers (back in the day), a perfect fit for this area. They have a great selection of deeply discounted special purchase and closeout merchandise including houseware items, accessories, hardware, paper goods, greeting cards, food, electronics, toys, clothing, health & beauty, decorations, plantings, lawn & garden, rugs, FURNITURE (comfy living room sets and mattresses), CLOSEOUTS, and much more. Got some picture frames for $8 and some cheap DVDs for $3 each. I even had the chance to take a short rest break on a very comfortable leather armchair in back. Zzzzzzzz Wake up Ian, more discounts ahead!
