It has been a long time since I have eaten here - change of ownership and everything, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. I got the brisket sandwich and ordered a cornbread muffin as well. I switched from chips to fries. Now even though I only live 5 minutes away - the fries were soggy, but I have to admit that the seasoning that they use on the fries was so good that I ate them all - soggy or not.
The brisket was fairly good - I was disappointed that it was shredded though - normally when I order brisket - its slices, but nevertheless it was juicy and good. I asked for sides of the sauces medium and hot - because I wasn't sure which of their sauces I would like - I was given mild and hot - both had good flavoring, but our idea of hot is very different - I would have labeled it as medium at the most.
Will I go back - probably though I have to admit it will probably be more for convenience than and 'oh my goodness, I can't wait to eat there again.'
Under new HORRIBLE management for the past year... and it is HORRIBLE!!
OMG! If I could offer a 0 star to this place... I would!
It is horrible. The food looked and tasted like it had be obtained through the garbage.
I was in shock when the food came out and I saw how horrible it looked. It looked like hospital food. No wait, hospital food is better than that... it looked like how I would invision prision food to look and taste like... no wait, they actually have cooks... hmm... it looks like the food Hitler probably fed the Jews!! SCRAPS! It was HORRIBLE!
To make matters worse-- The owner (lady)-charged my card when I asked her to split the bill... she charged my card for the full amount. She then told me she refunded the amount. so the other person paid their half portion-- which was close to $25. And I NEVER RECEIVED THE REFUND. The food was so terrible that I wanted the entire experience behind me so I didn't even go back or call them back for my money back.
Beware of this place... food is the worse.
The owner (lady) was RUDE. Her teenage son was a sweetheart. I could tell from his body language and comments that his mother and him didn't get along well... nor did he agree with how his mother was speaking to us... as he apologized to her.
Poor Kid!! Hopefully he will go to college and get OUT of the family business!
If you are in the mood for BBQ. Try Swine Dinning in Bellevue.
Overall, this place is... Horrible! Horrible! Horrible.
I've typed horrible several times but it still doesn't convey the horrible-ness that the food at this place serves... yuck. Horrible.
If you like food with flavor, this isn't the place for you. I read all the reviews before we went, but decided to go in with an open mind. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich that was ridiculously bland without a ton of BBQ sauce, which was pretty good.
Trust the negative reviews. This place was almost completely empty on the Friday night we went there.
I wonder if they advertise in the Comfort Inn Hotel because out of towners won't know any better?
On Saturday night. Very few customers. No wonder. Burnt ends had no flavor and were soggy like they were smoked a little then stewed in a roaster for a long time. Served on a plate with water or very watery bland juice. Expected them to be crisp. Brisket was the same.
Beans and mac and cheese just OK
Seasoned potatoes very bland
Two tv's on different channels with volume up on both along with a radio.
Woman paid hardly any attention to us.
Over charged at register
Mostly pretty good... Could use more seasoning, so look for the salt & pepper shakers. Feather bones & sausages were the best.
Sunday special, baby back ribs were sold out and it was almost closing time when dropped in. Got spare ribs and smoked sausage with baked beans as our side.
The ribs were good. Decent smoke, tender, good tasting. Sausage was good. They should use a spicer sausage. Baked beans were a tad sweet yet had decent heat. Medium style BBQ sauce was good.
This place has pretty darn good bbq. It was not the best I had but it was pretty good to me! The service was also very good that is a definite plus!
I would recommend this to everyone. except vegetarians.
So far I am only 2 bites into it and I am LOVING it! It's not like those crap I had in Cali, this is the real stuff. : )
My bf couldn't resist trying the fried snicker bar and so we did. I got to say it is definitely something. I wonder if calorie counter has the calorie listed on this thing. Well, it's not really my cup of tea. At least now I can say I tried it.
Good BBQ. Went there last Saturday and had a huge plate of burnt ends. Very tasty.
Sides were good and the service was great!
I went during the week and what a waste of money. If anyone thinks this food is remotely good needs their tastebuds transplanted. Horrible presentation. The meal didn't look appealing. Turns out it looked better than it tasted. Should be rated minus 5 stars. Did I say yuck? By the way, I think this place is number one on my worst restaurant list. Yuck
I love it. Nothing fancy. I had pork plate which was fine but my wife had the brisket which was wonderful. Friends tried the smoke fried chicken which just as good. We all dove into a fried snickers at the end. BBQ sauce was very good.
A great barbecue place. And then the just right, crispy, touch of vinegar cole slaw. A miracle just off I-80 on the long drive west.
Nope don't come here
The food here is not that bad. On Fridays they sell Oxtail. That was very good. I usually have the ribs or the pulled pork. Both of which are very good. The place is some what small, so if you bring a large group, it could get filled up fast. They sell beer here, so if you like your BBQ with a beer, no worries. I don't remember if they have dessert, but they do sell fresh brownies at the register.
My son and I were in town to visit the world famous zoo and this was the closest place to eat off the highway. how about that for picking a place to eat. It was a saturday and the special was burnt ends. Now being from Kansas City where we invented the burnt-ends, I wasn't expecting much, but really, I was expecting more than what I got. they were pretty aweful. they were dried out little nuggets of meat with hardly any flavor at all. the 3 sauces on the table all tasted exactly the same, and the coleslaw that came out was like raw cabbage with a little vinegar on it. my son got chicken strips so he wasn't complaining. the extra star on my review is because of their military discount and the awesome pictures on the wall of the old baseball stadium. If you're coming to Omaha, you can skip this place. skip it.
Inside the decor is comfortable, and there is plenty of room.
I went in for their Saturday special of burnt ends, side of potato salad and beans. The cashier was really friendly and helpful. I ended up taking my order to go so didn't see the mistake until I got home. I got mashed potatoes instead of the potato salad I ordered. I like mashed potatos, but these were bad. Lumpy, kind of grainy, not creamy at all, and the beef gravy they put on it was a really strong beef flavor. The burnt ends aren't really what I consider "burnt ends". I don't think this cut was the points from the brisket. There was zero fat, zero burnt crust that makes burnt ends so good. It had mostly a dried out pot roast taste, if it weren't for the barbecue sauce. It had a strong smoky smell, but not much taste. I'm not saying it was bad, just not what I was expecting to get. The baked beans were the only thing really good.
I'd still be willing to go back and try pulled pork or something else because I really want to like this place. I just didn't like what I got this time.
I'm 98% sure this place place gave me food poisoning. I had ribs that tasted like they'd been soaking for days in greasy water. Not good. Threw up for two days after.
