All the reviews about this place are one hundred percent right on!
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in Battle Mountain.
The rooms are big and clean, the beds are sooooo big and comfy, it's decorated pretty darn classy.... cable tv, microwave, and fridge. Air conditioning. POOL!
It's just all over a great place for a super good price.
Keep up the amazing job, Big Chief! -

This place has ash trays in the room. Enough said.
While making our way across the country we became very tired around Battle Mountain. We should have persevered because this hotel was disgusting. The room smelled very bad and the air conditioner didnt work. If you find yourself in our situation, power through to Elko! Luckily we had sleeping bags so we didn't have to use the bed sheets. -

They had one of the best business cards I've ever seen, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again. The woman at the front desk greeted us warmly and even went outside in the cold and rain to make sure that we had parked in a space that was OK [we were pulling a trailer].
The room was clean, with a fridge and TV. The sink was separate from the toilet/shower, which made getting ready easier in the mornings. The shower was not the cleanest I've ever seen. The walls were on the thin side. After we checked in I realized that we were really close to train tracks. Active train tracks. But we were so tired, we slept easily. The room was CHEAP, I think it was around $60 including taxes with AAA.
In the morning they offer a "continental breakfast". There were some dry cereals, breads/toaster, and fruit. I tried the coffee. I didn't finish it. There's a decent coffee shop closer to the freeway, go there for coffee on your way out of town. -

Decent rooms, not the cleanest place, but acceptable; quite cheap, as well, so a fair place to stay while going thru town.

We went to to the human powered speed championships and stayed here. It was a good idea because they had some good eco features. The proprietor drove a Prius, there was eco toilet paper, and florescent lighting. The Big Chief was located within easy walking distance of downtown, the civic center, and the Owl Club restaurant. Complimentry breakfast is availabele in a homey lobby, and includes hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, and coffee. A pool and well maintained spa make for a pleasant stay. When I forgot my ipod charger they were happy to send it to me!

We flew into the local airport and Big Chief was advertised there. Yelp checked out as well so that's where we stayed. Good choice. Beds okay, decent fridge and micro, wi-fi worked. The bathroom showed it's age but lots of hot water. Continental Breakfast no longer had eggs, but the coffee was very acceptable. Three other patrons came in to fill up their "to go" coffee mugs. One of them said "I'll be back next year." This gets 4 stars as value for the money, not for luxury.
