When we walked into Big Buck, I turned around to catch my husband's expression. This place is decked out with antlers, branches (chairs), and dead animal heads. Very fitting for this Northern Michigan restaurant. The crowd (which was bustling) was made up of golfers, families, and young couples.

We came to sample the beer and we did! For $1 you can get a 5 oz. sample. All the beers we tried were good with my favorites being the Big Buck and Jeffe. Their dark stout even made me think that I should give Guinness another try.  I don't know, maybe I was drunk.

The Delmonico steak was best thing we tried but the add-ons were not worth it. It was a lame amount of onions and mushrooms, and they were button mushrooms. Our server was friendly and didn't sound bored when she explained the different brews to us.

Definitely a good choice is you're in the area.

My first impression was that perhaps this wasn't the place for me as I wasn't carrying a hunting rifle, wearing an orange vest, and didn't have the bullet-riddle carcass of some animal strapped to the roof of my car.  The decor was over the top to say the least, with a massive "chandelier" made out of an accumulation of antlers and "trophies" of animals scattered about (how we got the notion that beheading something we killed made for a great trophy is beyond me) the walls.  Yet, the beer was really good and the steaks were juicy and flavorful.  I'm betting this isn't going to come to my area anytime soon but I have to say I enjoyed it nonetheless, decor aside.

Big Buck is Located just off I-75 mm 282 . Service can be slow on the weekends and you never seem to see the same server twice . They offer a large selection of steaks and some seafood also . We have tried all their brews our favorites include Black River Stout and Red Bird Ale .Most of the time they offer about 6 brews on tap plus a Root Beer they brew up . They do have a Buffalo Burger that is good and have a large screen tv for watching your favorite sporting event . Their botteling operation is no longer in business but they do refill their own growlers .
