Best Bike shop in NYC. I trust few people when it comes to working on my bike and Andres is definitely one I do trust. Talking with him while he worked on my bike, I got to know a little about his background and i thought i would share.

Andres has a long history with bikes, over 30 years. Starting in Columbia building bike frames. Actually welding them from Columbus steel tubing (the best) he still has customers riding his bikes today. He also has relatives that raced in the Tour de France!

Opening his own shop in astoria is the result of his passion for bikes and experience working for another bike shop for many years. His experience was immediately obvious when i brought in a bike i found in a dumpster. The painted decals were old and worn off from age, but he immediately identified the frame builder with a reminiscent smile.

He has treated my my other bikes with great care and has offered great advice on equipment. So i write this review as a tip to his professionalism and great service. If you are looking for a bike shop that does good work, or a experience cyclist that can lead you in the right direction. Go see Andres! And you know the rules... Don't go when it's the busiest, on a Saturday afternoon. For personal service try Sunday morning or during the week!

Friendly and Fast! I took my bike there this afternoon, after finding the front tire flat this morning. I couldn't find the puncture or hole myself, so i pumped up the tire and rode it over there. They quickly were able to pull out the inner ring and show me where the puncture was and replace it in less than 10 minutes. Total cost: $10.50 and I was able to put it on my debit card. Doesn't get any better than that! Bonus: Really cute dog, must be owner's, and it's super friendly as well!

Brought my bike here for a flat fix after a bad experience elsewhere.  Andres walked me through fixing the flat, figuring out what might have caused it. He taught me, a definite layman when it comes to anything technical about bikes, quite a bit in the process.  He is knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful.  HIGHLY recommended.

Nice friendly shop.  Just bought a nice Jamis at a good price there.   Andres is the man.  Free tune ups for 3 years.  Very friendly.   Not a 'pro' shop but they did have some high end bikes more of a family type shop.

These guys don't fit the norm of New York Bike shops. That is, they're not brusque and surly and they take the time to listen to customers' concerns without being condescending.
I've visited the bike shop several times in need of small repairs. They trued my wheel while I waited for a very reasonable rate and another time they helped me remove and install some new pedals for free while I waited. When I needed to ship a bike they also generously provided me with a bike box.
