I had a small room, but the bed was great (obviously), bathroom was gorgeous with really nice amenities.
But what I'm really rating here is the customer service, which blew me away. I arrived around midnight and worked in my room through much of the night - I had faxes coming to me all night and boxes being delivered. And each time a fax or box arrived, the concierge called me. The faxes came in a professional folder rather than just handed to me. Hotel staff helped me carry boxes at 3 am to my room.
Wish I could afford to stay at a place like this on my own dime. I am very thankful for all the help from the staff on that crazy night!
Absolutely a first rate instituition. Of course you expect that when you see the price tag, but nonetheless staying in a hotel this fabulous is an experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime. Despite the fact that I booked a lower priced room they were quick to upgrade me to suite that would normally cost 3 times as much.
If you are staying be sure to take a little time and have lunch in the restaurant. It is first class. One of the better spots for lunch on Rodeo.
Yes, this hotel is nice, but it's not all that. I used to come here a lot back in the day and sit at the piano bar. I had lunch at the new restaurant facing Wilshire recently and wasn't impressed at all.
The food was ok, but not excellent. Service was rather slow.
One can comfortably expect the Four Seasons standards here, from valet, doorman, front desk, butler to room service staffs, superb location close to Rodeo Dr.
Very nice place to stay.Well worth the money .The staff was friendly and attentive .They pointed out some great restaurants to me and helped a friend find apt nearby

I've only been to some functions here, most recently the other day. The staff is very attentive and take care of your needs. The waiters are fine, ours wasn't a ball of fire but maybe that was just our table. The food came out on-time, was hot, and cooked perfectly. From what I heard the price per head is very high, but you're at a Four Seasons so that's what you have to deal with. All in all it was a pretty good night.
Nice hotel, although the entrance is really weird and very small for such a hotel. I'd expected a grander hotel on the inside, but it wasn't so. Restrooms are situated in a confusing area, away from the restaurant and bar area. Lobby is also small, resembling more of a boutique hotel.
I love Four Seasons properties, but I'm guessing I like Four Seasons properties which originated as such, not ones that they've taken over to manage. That is why it only gets 4 stars instead of the 5.

I'm a little prejudiced here because I was the Hotel Florist in the 90's.
I still go to the Lounge whenever I am in town for the perfect cocktail & also afternoon tea. You'll find bartenders, servers and housekeepers who have been there for many, many years (because it is a union hotel).
Don't stay in the Beverly Wing. It's the modern tower in the rear of the hotel and it's just not luxurious like the main building.
I have to look the other way when I go past the flowers because the hotel was purchased by a Hong Kong consortium of investors when I left and in true Hong Kong style they cut the budget. the florals are puny and totally out of character now. If you want to see the way we used to do it, ask for the hotel brochure (and unless they have printed another one) you will see my work. Or you can find it on the cover a book HOSPITALITY DESIGN-2 by Roger Yee.
In closing, all the celebrities used to stay in the hotel (I don't know if they still do after the cut-the budget procedures went into place). Warren Beatty lived there for years and so did Larry King (who was one of my best customers).
Try to get a mini-tour of the Presidential suite if it's not occupied. It's where all the Arab Princes would stay when they came to Bev Hills. It's like a small home.
The staff will literally kiss your a_ _ if you are kind to them (even if you are complaining about something) it's very gracious hospitality.
"Act elegantly and you will be treated elegantly" as I have always said.
First rate all the way, from the staff handling the late check in to handling my request for some office supplies to even cutting me up some pineapple (mind fuel).
The beds are almost too comfortable. I tried a little writing in them, but all that would come out is Man in Bed. Man feeling comfortable. Man dozing back off into restful sleep. No worries the chair was firm and the desk was quite nice for getting some work done. And for a hotel this size it is very quiet.
The suites are sweet.

as often is the case with hotels that are mega-chains, or internationally corporate, the general impression of deluxe-ness is intended to bowl you over, so you won't notice the meh-ness of the constituent parts of the establishment.
the beverly wilshire has undergone a number of incarnations, the one most missed being when there was a brentano's bookstore on the ground floor corner at rodeo and wilshire. there was also a fine little coffee shop, also on the rodeo dr. side of the hotel, called the pink turtle. greta garbo was rumored to frequent it, as well as other oldies.
i have eaten at different restaurants in the b.w. over the years. the food is usually pretty good, not remarkable, but i think the setting is supposed to make up for that.
i think the location of the hotel, and its pedigree, are really what visitors seek. with so many good restaurants in a small radius, the quality of the hotel's offerings becomes less of an issue.
Four Seasons and owning it!
Great bar, which is a must in LA.
Famous actors hangout too.

It is not your typical Four Seasons experience. Kind of Ho humish. Nothing stands out but the customary Four Season's service which you pay for thank you. This does the job for the well heeled businessman who just wants the style to which he's accustomed.

Ok so I'm not being biased here since my friend works at the Four Seasons and San Francisco and that we got to stay for free at the Beverly Wilshire. The service, the staff, the rooms, the ambience....everything was awesome. The BEST hotel I've ever stayed in. All the staff was super nice, the concierge staff was very helpful at 11pm at night helping me land a flight at 6am in the morning while I was heavily intoxicated, and the bartender was quite a humorous jolly fella who was fun to talk with.
The drinks and the food were really good too. Thanks for the hook up Joel.
I really hope I'll get to stay here again some day. It was great enough that it was free, although I didn't have much time to relish the whole place since I only had a couple of days there and wanted to be out in the city.
Great weekend altogether.

Amazing! Came here with a friend to visit another friend. The person we were visiting was the trainer for the Boston Celtics.
The rooms here are amazing. As for the hotel: Not a speck of dust anywhere! The place is spotless from top to bottom.
A little stuffy though. But elegant.
On a recent trip to Los Angeles I chose to stay at the Regent Beverly Wilshire based in large part on the overwhelmingly positive reviews I read about the hotel here and elsewhere online.
Our disappointment began as soon as we left the car with the valet. Despite the grand facade which faces Rodeo Drive, the rest of the hotel is unremarkable.
Their carriage-way separates the two wings of the hotel but no one bothered to point us in the right direction. There is a small ancillary "front desk" in the second wing but no one was staffing it at 4pm on a weekday afternoon. After trucking back over to the main front desk I had the misfortune of getting a trainee to handle our check-in. He was decidedly unsure of the check-in procedure which would have been tolerable if he hadn't been so terribly slow. After several lengthy sidebars with one of his more experienced colleagues, I had hoped the more experienced colleague would have come to our aid. No such luck.
I had booked a two bedroom suite over the phone several weeks before our arrival and though we were pleased to have been placed on a high floor as requested, the rooms we received could hardly be considered a two bedroom suite. They were basically two king rooms connected to one another. The fact that the two rooms were completely separate save for a connecting door made for a very awkward floorplan.
The sitting area in the larger of the two rooms was sub-par both from a furnishing and functionality standpoint. The 20" Magnavox television was so old and the picture so washed-out that it was completely unwatchable. And this was in the "newly renovated" tower. It would be laughable if it wasn't so sad.
The bathrooms were clean but cold and uninviting.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the windows opened completely and the views of downtown LA and the nearby suburbs were lovely.
The only other highlight aside from the view was a very warm welcome that my dog received. They had left a miniature suitcase filled with dog treats and toys which I thought was very clever and thoughtful.
The final straw was upon returning to the room after dinner on our first night there. It was just before 11pm and I had excused myself to my bedroom to change clothes before heading out for the rest of the evening. While I was changing, my girlfriend and her friend (we are all in our early 30's) sat down in the living room area to talk. We had neither the TV nor radio on and the girls were conversing in normal tones.
While I was in the other room security arrived at the door to inform us that we had received a noise complaint.
On our way back out I stopped by the front desk to confirm that the noise complaint was not a mistake. The front desk person confirmed its validity and I promptly informed them that we must obviously be at the wrong hotel. I informed them that rather than staying for the remainder of the 5 nights we had booked with them that we would be departing the next morning.
The front desk person put up no fight whatsoever and in fact seemed quite pleased to see us go.
I would *NEVER* stay at this hotel again. Especially for the money it was a complete and utter letdown.

Here's the obvious: it's pretty posh; it's esspensive; the service is great; the rooms are comfortable. Here's what I liked and felt was above and beyond the call of duty: free shoe shine, just put your bags in a bag and hang them outside your door by 1 am and you'll have them by 6 am; there is cold and free cranberry, OJ and Gatorade in the fitness center; they bring your warm room service in a little oven so that it stays warm until it gets to your room. The fitness center has two floors, one for cardio and the other for free weights. The beds are comfortable, I usually have a hard time falling asleep the first night in a new place but I had no problems here. The freebie shampoo, conditioner and lotion smells great.; unfortunately they aren't very generous with supplying extras of these. Unfortunately, you have to pay for Internet access. I took a star off for this. I don't understand why nice, pricey hotels charge for access. There's already charging you an incredible sum and they want you to pay for access? And it wasn't just a couple dollars, it was $18 for 24 hours. What the what?!?
I think I would have enjoyed this place more if I hadn't been there for work but it was still a good stay. My other complaint/question is where was the chocolate on the pillow?
You just can't beat a hotel that was featured in "Pretty Woman!" Go there...you'll feel like Julia Roberts...not the hooker Julia...the princess Julia! lol
I've never stayed the night here but I can attest to their Sunday High Tea. GREAT for a baby shower, birthday afternoon for mom, Mother's Day, bridal shower...day with the gals. They have two prices I believe (you would have to call for them as I can't recall the exact amount)...one included the champagne, the other is sans alcohol. Fun to put on your Sunday best, go for tea and little sandwiches and cookies...lemon curd and all. Very English!
I'm sure the rooms are lovely as the Four Seasons is not known for letting people down!!

Wow what an incredible hotel and experience. This destination is truly first class all the way. The location is perfect. Walk out the front door and you are on Rodeo drive. The beaches are about 15-20 minutes and Hollywood is probably a 5-10 minute drive. I can't say enough about the service from the moment you pull up to the hotel to valet to every other possible service. The staff is attentive, polite, and ready and willing to take care of any need or desire at any moment. the concerige was outstanding, offering advice and suggestions on places to go and places not to go. Room service was always prompt, the coffee and even the toast was delivered in a warmer so it was still nice and warm by the time it arrived. And the beds....amazing.
We did not get the chance to eat at Cut which I understand is an outstanding restaurant, and also very hard to get into, so if your going make reservations well in advance.
Love the ambience on the hotel..The room was nothing extraordinaire..
But you guys should definitely use the SPA on the 2nd Flr...they have the best facial..very friendly staff and must go to the tranquil lounge for extra relaxation.

This is a great hotel but there are a few things you need to know. First of all--resist being placed in the modern "wing" (its actually a tower). The rooms in that "wing" are terrible and small and for people who dont know any better. Second, if you are willing to spring for it (its a lot of scratch) the best room is a 2 BR Suite in the Wilshire Wing. The Junior Suite or the 1 BR suite are nice too so long as you insist on facing Wilshire. The rooms in the old wing that face the back of the hotel (over the car park) are odd, not good oh its so cool its odd I love it odd-bad odd. The other thing you need to know--the house car is a Rolls Royce Phantom. Any guest can use it. Guess who gets to use it--thats right-- the guests who are nice to the bellstaff. This is a hotel where liberal tipping is amply rewarded. You want a Russian Newspaper? Done. How about Arabic Cable stations only on your TV-done. You want a bowl of green apples? A single rose? Done and done. All you have to do is pony up a tip here and there. Hotels all used to be this way--Guests would pay the staff and then everyone would pretend they were friends and it was all very jolly. Nowadays you have only a few chances to bribe people and this is one of them. Food service is good--but expensive. The in-house restaurants are good--not excellent but they cost like excellent. But that said--this is a treasure and a gem and you must try it.

Years ago I stayed at this very luxurious hotel. Impressed by Los Angeles and the stretched limo that we arrived in I walked into the lounge with my surfer board shorts and a a Swedish t-shirts. It was obviously not the proper dress code. But, no one reacted in any way, which was kind of nice since I really enjoy dressing myself in a relaxed way. But it is pretty much what the whole atmosphere is about, nobody really cares. And that is for me sad.
Ive travelled quite a lot, this trip was sponsored by my former employer (explains the overwhelming luxury). But what really makes a great experience worth remembering is the personality and enthusiasm experienced. Unless your a sheik or a king I reckon no one really feels with this place.
Two days later I woke up from a rough party night, I walked down to the pool area, took a swim in the pool and ordered a club sandwich and a coke. People around me were enjoying their breakfast in their fancy dresses and I laid back, in sun, smiling inside, listening to the Swedish band, Kent. The contrast to the surroundings suddenly became a cool experience and that is what I remember along with the television that was integrated into the wall in the bathroom. But the hotel itself was a disappointment even though its grand and has all the conservative attributes.

I had the pleasure of staying here recently on a business trip, & it was the experience of a lifetime.
We arrived & people literally swarmed our vehicles to open doors for us. We were swept in & greeted jovially, & were in our rooms within a mere ten minutes. When I returned to my room that night I was delighted at the turn-down service. A housekeeper had come into my room, straightened everything, left slippers by the bed, & I had information on the bed about their free overnight shoe-polishing service.
The next day our group fell through on the hotel for lunch. Instead of being hoity-toity about the fact we canceled due to the expense, the manager personally escorted us to a nearby CPK.
Every single detail here was a WOW experience.

Think Pretty Woman! Impeccable service and absolutely wonderful dining. Although I haven't actually checked into the hotel (I live in LA for goodness sakes), I have dined there.
After shopping around rodeo, I settled down to have high tea with my family. The three tier trays had a gorgeous assortment of biscuits, tea sandwiches, and scones. I really liked their sandwiches. The tea was also soothing; I had earl grey.
Another time, I went in to have lunch. My mother ordered steak while I had a pasta dish. I can't remember the specifics of what we ordered. But the food was delicious. The steak was tender and juicy. And the pasta was not too heavy, with light sauce.
Although the price is def expensive, the food is so delicious that I think it's well worth the price.
Creamed spinach from room service, yum!
Workout center is airy with multiple sliding glass doors to open at ground level.
When I'm in the bath, I want to watch tv. No problem here.
Fantastic service.
This is the place to go for exceptional rooms and service and the
staff is friendly and goes all out for the customer. Prices are a little
high, but this is Beverly Hills, and if you have to ask the price, then
maybe it's not for you.
Nice place, good size rooms, comfortable beds, solid service.
Stayed here 2 nights on a business trip recently. Overall a good experience, especially since the money wasn't coming out of my pocket. However, there are some quirks/watchouts to be aware of.
The good stuff
Service
Front desk staff was efficient and pleasant, not overly stuffy, no Bronson Pinchot character from Beverly Hills cop or anything.
Room service was solid, too. I had 2 breakfasts and a lunch. Everything was prompt, food was good enough, servers were pleasant.
Rooms
Good size and seemed like decent value, though I don't stay in LA often, so my point of reference is more NY-based. My room, 483, was $300 + tax. King bed, small balcony with table and chairs overlooking the pool. Flat screen TV. Large bathroom with separate jacuzzi tub from shower stall.
Conference space
Reason I was here was for a one-day conference with ~200 attendees. This was held in the 'Wintergarden' room. Not sure if it's their standard layout, but had nice layout with some couches / lounges in addition more standard tables and chairs.
Forbes penthouse
Their was a reception held in the penthouse [which isn't on the top floor, causing some people to debate whether it's truly a penthouse or not]. Rumor had it that Warren Beatty lived here for like 15 years. Really roughing it if that's the case - cool place.
The watch outs
Rooms overlooking the pool can be noisy. I had work to do while there was another reception poolside, with DJ and inebriated over-laughers. They shut it down by 11 or so, but was definitely distracting while it was in swing.
Wireless can be sketchy
Wasn't able to sustain a strong connection at all times in the room, which is frustrating. But was able to maintain a solid connection in the conference space.
Random note - food options nearby
Wanting to stretch my legs a little bit and get something other than room service for one meal, I took a little trip around the 'neighborhood' looking for something. If you go out the entrance that faces Rodeo Drive, take a right, then another right up at a major light [can't remember name of street] there is a strip of nice looking, semi-casual restaurants. Italian, Chinese, Mexican, etc. Also a Starbucks, Jamba Juice and Chipotle.
Full of gold diggers and old worn out women. Nice bar with good music. Besides the bevy of botox ridden chicks at the lobby nothing really special about this place.

I was in town to visit with family and my stay here did not disappoint. I flew in and by the time I go to the hotel, I was utterly exhausted. The staff was fantastic and very welcoming, check in was quick and they even sent a complimentary bottle of wine up to the room. The staff definitely went above and beyond on this trip. The location is great if you're here to shop. Very luxurious hotel. Give the few weeks I'd had leading up to this trip, this hotel was a welcome retreat even if I didn't get to spend as much time in it as I'd have liked. I definitely recommend it. It is expensive, but this is Beverly Hills so expense just kind of comes with the territory.

OK...this place is CLASS all the way! And for $1000/night...it Goddamned better well be class all the way! How did I get to stay in the Beverly Wilshire in a $1000/night room you might ask? Well good question. Be outgoing with your female friend's friends that are rich and from NYC looking for an apartment in LA. After I offered to drive her back to her hotel following the fun evening we had out on the town and then following the amazing view I took her to in the Hollywood Hills overlooking the entire city and the ocean, she asked if I would like to come up and see said $1000/night Beverly Wilshire Hotel room. I agreed and as I handed the vallet the keys to my 1993 Honda Del Sol surrounded by Ferraris, Lambos, Maserattis and Bentleys...I explained to the man just how to operate the targa top for my fine piece of automotive design and how he could attach it back to the top of the car after he parked it. We proceeded up to the 10th floor if I'm not mistakened and I was introduced to the lap of luxury. 2 rooms mind you in this suite...a living room and a bedroom. 2 60 inch plasma screen TV's. 2 count 'em 2 porches which she refered to as "terraces". I suppose that's a rich person's word for a porch. Oh and 2 bathrooms. Immaculate! Huge comfortable bed and a couple couches. Room service was excellent! And the view from the balcony was amazing. We watched the hotel guests at the pool the whole next morning as I sat in my Beverly Wilshire robe and sipped champagne and ate breakfast on the "terrace". I can't afford to stay in this hotel and even if I could I'm too cheap to spend that much money. But if you're filthy stinking rich and aren't as frugal as I am...I suggest trying out the Beverly Wilshire. I stayed there for 3 nights and it was spectacular! And when the vallet brought me my Del Sol he suggested that I have my brakes checked to which I replied to the man that he just needed to finesse the car like it were a Lotus or a Ferrari.

Wonderful and classy hotel with an imperial touch similar to European hotels - a lot of movies are filmed in this hotel (most recently Pink Panther) and numerous celeb press conferences are held here as well.
I haven't stayed here, but I do enjoy the bar here if I am in the area, window shopping or wishing. The drinks here are more than meals elsewhere, so be warned. Also, you definitely have to hover here most times in order to be seated at the bar or one of the bar tables. The sliders are made from Kobe beef here, and they give an amazing nut/olive plate with your drinks. I used to love a martini they made here that could be found nowhere else: it was made with pink champagne, rosewater, vodka, and rosemary leaves (a teensy amount). It was so delicious, but sadly, the last time I was there, it had been removed from the menu. They now have a nice lychee martini that is an ok selection and also quite tasty, but nothing as original as that rose/pink champagne martini. It was spectacular. You have to valet at the hotel unless you have parked elsewhere and are shopping. It's in walking distance from Saks Fifth Avenue and Barney's, as long as you aren't wearing killer heels or have some aversion to walking a few blocks. Clientele is definitely on the snootier side and can be somewhat obnxious, to rude, if you are trying to cruise for a spot. But, the bar seats are cushy and if you're in, you're in. I'd be more inclined to try this during the week again if I ever get the chance. Weekends are crowded. The hotel is beautiful; the lobby and the gift shop areas are amazing. Definitely a cool place to check out and have a drink if you don't mind dropping $20.

This Place is BEAUTIFUL. Yes, this is the hotel from "Pretty Woman" and girls this place will definitely make you feel like princess! He (whoever brings you) will seem like a prince (due to the impressionable impact of the experience) You can window shop all of the latest Designer goods (hint, go later in the evening when the shops are closed absolutely, no pressure or guilt) Trust me it feels good to do this with a drink in your hand AKA, 1 of the good things about Vegas. You'll always have a reason for a return visit (shopping) :) Impeccable Service, Excellent food and GREAT atmosphere.
Very, very average experience. The amenities are far better at 4 star hotels, the rooms look dated and the service was inefficient. Obvious plus points are the location for those who want to gawk at rodeo drive and the look of the lobby but definitely not worth the price...
great hotel. impeccable service and gorgeous rooms. this is the only place i'll stay in beverly hills. i'm young but i don't like the young crowd and this hotel is nothing but class. great high tea, great restaurant...the food was better than i've had at many top tier restaurants. the location is the best in beverly hills. escada is downstairs and youre two steps from barneys. need i say more?
