Hard to find? I'v lived here for a few years and diden't know it existed.
i guess cuz i never bowl.
food is good. prices fair, service is ok too
Classic diner food. Lots of it, hot, and a bit heavy depending on what you order.
Took my son and his friend bowling. At his age he does not want dad around in case he and his friend meet so girls so I decided to get a bit to eat at Betsy's as it is in the same building.
Unfortunately just as I finished the cooks were doing some cleaning. The pulled up the rubber floor mats (tons of dirt, grease and food on these things) and starting cleaning the floor.
Then the went back to cooking and handling the food without washing their hands. Ugh. I felt like warning the people who ordered the hamburgers that they might be getting more than they expected in the spice department but it was being delivered to someone bowling and I had yet to pay my bill.
There is something to be said about an open kitchen. This place might want to wall it off from view.

As others have already stated, this is one of the best places to eat breakfast in Morgan Hill. The food is consistently good and the service is really great. In fact, one time several months ago I had an unexpected low blood sugar attack while I was there, and the waitress rushed me a Coke and had the kitchen hurry my order. Then, the next time we went back, she remembered that I had gotten sick, and was ready to bring me some juice or soda immediately. Now THAT is awesome service!
The only reason that they get four stars instead of five is that they only have non-dairy creamer for their coffee. Let's call it four-and-a-half stars instead!
Listen up pancake lovers: Crack. They must put crack in the pancakes.
Their pancakes are so damn good it hurts. Seriously - there are only a few places that do them this good. Enough said about the pancakes - there are some other really good things at the BD and some not good things:
Good - family-owned place, quick food, awesome breakfast, great sammies, decent prices, good chili, did I mention the pancakes?
Not so good - don't get the country fried steak (they seem to have a problem actually cooking it all the way through), no hostess when they are busy
I have to say I have eaten at Betsy's Restaurant atleast a dozen or so times. Listen...I know you live in Morgan Hill as I do and are not used to good restaurants. You know what I mean. Betsy's does not have great or good food!!! Honestly, it's not.
My reason: They cut corners on quality of food. There pancakes are absolutely tasteless. No taste. Terrible cafateria tasting pancake. How can you kill a pancake? Margarine. Brown corn syrup that is tasteless and not even close to say "Mrs. Butterworths". There again cutting corners on taste to save money. There cottage fries are generally very good. Although I had them on last visit and they were really burnt. Crispy burnt. Ive had problems getting my food to arrive hot.
Hamburgers are grissly and fatty. Poor grade of meat. Fries are just your average frozen fries. Nothing to write or rave about.
Service is okay to slow, and they don't check back with you to see if there is a problem, need more water etc.
Overall: just plain, average, you get what you pay for, no imagination kind of food. I wont go back at all. Im done.
If you want a good breakfast go to the Black Bear Diner. They have there own issues, but, breakfast/food is much, much better tasting.
I've been here for breakfast lunch and dinner and although the portions are on the small side and the price is sometimes higher than you might want the food USUALLY good..Service has usually been quick in the 10-15 times I have been here.
If you like drinking at the bowling alley bar down the way then feel free to ask the bartender for the Betsy's menu and you can have food brought to the bar from over there which is always a nice change from bars without food service.

Wow the last 2 times I went here really brought the rating down. Got a chicken fried steak that was really rare. I have never even seen this but it was almost cold in the middle.
Another time I ended up getting hash browns almost cold and cold toast as well.
On second thought here the service is hit or miss along with the food. I wish I could recommend a better breakfast in MoHill but I can't . The lunch has always been good for me but wow that 2/5 that the breakfast was sub-par.
I've been here for breakfast and lunch. The food is really good, and the prices are reasonable. Sometimes the service is lacking, but most of the time, they are on top of things.
I moved to the area recently and my wife and I have already been here for breakfast repeatedly. It's your typical diner-style place, stuck next to the local bowling alley. The prices are your typical diner prices too - pretty cheap. Beyond that, there's plenty to like about this place that set it apart from a typical diner. They have some great Mexican breakfast choices, like the Chile Verde breakfast (not on the menu), among other things. Service is always nice, and super quick, despite the fact that they're always packed on weekend mornings. Now we just have to check them out for lunch and dinner. Good stuff!
The BOMB Breakfast - the best in town. It's family owned and run. The staff is friendly. It's always packed on the weekends but the wait is never long. I have never had to wait over 5 mins. They are pretty fast with the service. I've never had dinner here but the burgers are great as well as the patty melt and the french dip...Yum!
If you need Breakfast in Morgan Hill, Betsy's is IT! It's exactly what you are looking for in a breakfast spot. Quick. Fast. Quality. HUGE! I like the Betsy's omellettes but you can order anything on or off the menu. If you are into a healthy breakfast (i.e. egg whites) they probably can't accomodate. It's a family run business that cares about the quality of food and the impact they have on the Morgan Hill Community. Go to Betsy's if you are looking for Breakfast in Morgan Hill.
This is a whole in the wall place. Unless you know where the "old bowling alley" is, you probably wont know they are there. Its a family owned place. They seem to have a lot of regulars come in. I believe they open at 6am on the weekdays. Our office would call in breakfast and we'd pick it up in like 15 minutes so they are pretty quick. Reasonable pricing. I recommend their breakfast burritos that arent on the menu. Their green salsa is to DIE for. I order potato, bacon and cheese burritos with salsa on the side and they are very good sized. U'd probably be full on half of one. Very Very good.
A MUST TRY: Chile Verde breakfast (Fri-Sun). This is absolutely the best I've ever had for breakfast/lunch/dinner in any Mexican Restaurant - nationwide. It is consistent every time and is served with beans, Verde, eggs and tortillas. Ask for no beans and your plate is piled with more Verde. They are just off the bowling alley so the ambiance isn't too great, but its still worth treating your palate to a traditional Chile Verde. The rest of their menu is a hit as well, expecially their Roast Beef sandwich with Au Jus and fries. Hey Jesse, open another restaurant downtown and we will all come.
This place is good, although they don't do take out well, I tried to get a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich their on my way to work one day, and you would have thought by their reaction that I was ordering an elephant, caviar, and sheeps milk casserole. I got my sandwhich eventually, which was ok, not great, (plasticy American Cheese was used), but here's the kicker, $6.95!!! for a breakfast sandwhich, !$6.95, I was floored. Anyway, this place seems ok, a bit pricey for diner food, and don't try to "order off the menu", they seem to be a bit surly about that....
Betsy's has recently been remodeled, probably due to the fact that the adjacent bowling alley has undergone a complete revamping.
This is a long time family owned and run restaurant that serves quality food. The service is always good as they strive to keep their customers happy. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a good selection on all of the menus.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone, but get there early on the weekend or holidays or expect to wait as this place gets very busy.
Out of the three places in Morgan Hill that are worthy of mentioning for breakfast I rate Betsy's a very close second to Just Breakfast with Scrambl'z coming in a close third.
Good food, but we waited 45 minute for breakfast. The waitress was wonderful in apoligizing. It was not her fault. reasonable $.
