I stayed here recently. Service was decent - the lady kept on repeating the price over again and I said "That's fine - here's my card"
I won't deny that $149 a night at a Best Western especially on a weekday night is a bit pricey but we had an emergency at hand. I even tried to get a discount through my company card but she said that in order to get a discount, I had to make a reservation.
I had worked with them in the past to host group activities and it was a decent experience. It took a while in the communication, probably longer than I would have liked but they were friendly enough.
Rooms are decently sized and you have your bare minimum - it is right across the street from Prarie Moon and is within walkable distance to the Northwestern campus and plenty of downtown Evanston restaurants/businesses. And they also have a parking structure which is decently priced, too.

Stayed here in April 2004. A little outdated, but you can't beat the location. Right in downtown Evanston, within walking distance to campus. Also convenient to the Dempster and Davis EL stops. Good views from the higher rooms. Since winter was just ending, the pool was still empty and closed.

Shoddy. In a nutshell. Not a good value for the price, but one of the few options for downtown Evanston. I seriously can't think of anything good to say other than the location on the outskirts of the main downtown area. The room is just old, small, dirty, minimally bearable and not well maintained. That's all I have to say about that.
