While on our Christmas Vacation the Fiance and I stopped off at the Best Western Trailside Inn for two nights.

This is your typical Best Western, very simple and basic hotel room.  The people here were very friendly and had all our reservations.  We got a 1 bedroom queen bed room.  The room was a decent size and clean.  We had a couple of sitting chairs with small table, (no working desk) a vanity area, and a decent size bathroom that had a single sink, toilet, and a bath/shower.  The room also had a decent size flat screen TV that looked new.

The extras with this Best Western is that there is plenty of parking here.  Also they do offer free WiFi which is nice and if not they have a computer to use in the main lobby.  There is an outdoor pool (closed) and also they do offer a free Continental breakfast from 6AM - 9PM.  The breakfast just have basics such as pastries, hard boiled eggs, cereal, small juice boxes, toast and small bagels, breakfast bars, yogurt, etc etc.  I've seen better, but not bad either.

There is no onsite dinning, but they do share a parking lot with Black Bear Dinner so near by dinning should not be a problem.

Overall for $160 for 2 nights, not a bad option.  Service was good as the room was nicely cleaned upon our return and the people at the front desk greeted you with smile and were very friendly.  Definitely would consider staying here again and gets a solid 3 star rating and a positive recommendation on staying here again.

One of the better of the Best Western hotels we have stayed at on 395.  Our room was spiffy and with the best bathtub we had on the whole trip.
Free wireless Internet access in the rooms and a business center with free computer usage if you did not bring your laptop.
Great staff who went out of their way to be useful and efficient.  For late-night drinking, a collection of free herbal teas in the office area.
Susanville is not much of a place to choose to spend the night (very limited dining options), but this is the place to stay if you are going to be in Susanville.

Is there a no star option?????  I had the misfortune of staying here for a business trip.  They should not even be allowed to use the word "best" in their title!  Unfortunately I had pre-paid for several days, and I ended up staying here despite many misgivings.  There was a strange odor that never left.   There were things growing in the bathroom, and the window was smaller than a computer screen and opened with a crank.

The towels were white inspired, but not actually white.  They were not at all absorbent.  It was 2003 when I stayed here, and I had to use Bob's dial up to get Internet access.  My Blackberry was useless in the entire town.

The single bright spot was the friendly staff.  They provided good restaurant recommendations.  Other than that, I would not be caught dead here.  Ultimately I ended up commuting from Reno to Susanville for the second half of my trip, rather than staying here!
