    Random Rendevouz

After the BIGGEST camping fail known to mankind, me and my beau decided to grab a hotel on short notice to hide the fact that we didn't even last a full 24hrs in the wilderness due to a crazy experience (real life movie sh!t happen, but that's a WHOLE different story!!). We drove for 4 hours back towards civilization and found Sunrise Hotel.

    ::Enter Sunrise Hotel::

Sure this hotel is located across the street from ports o'call but for the price we paid a night we may as well have gone to a motel 6 and paid FAR less for the quality & lack of charm this hotel has to offer.

    Gist:

    *$130/night
    *Lacking continental breakfast
*No theme & doesn't make the cut as far as decor goes
*Staff is alright but lacked presence

Not very homey and just a not my style. This place is average at best and I don't think I'll be here again.

My husband and I stayed here the night before our honeymoon cruise departed. Paid $149 for one night, and to park our car in their lot for the 7 nights we would be away and they would shuttle us to and from the port. The port is $12 a day so this saved us some money. Our room was your typical cheap hotel room. The bathrooms could be a little cleaner. Bed was very hard.
Morning of depart, continental breakfast was very minimal. Cereal, juice, toast and bagels sums it up. They shuttled us to the port, no problems.
However, when we returned from our wonderful trip, we waited for the shuttle. After a few minutes, we called the phone number they provided us to call... Three times with NO answer. Another couple staying at this same hotel also called, twice, and called their 800 number, with no answer either. The 4 of us took a regular shuttle, which we had to pay for. The guy said we could just pay him tips so that was good, but it was additional cost out of our pocket when the shuttle was supposed to pick us up.
The price for the night and the parking was a decent deal, but a return pick up shuttle should have been available, as well as someone at the desk to answer when we repeatedly called...

"Everyone" says that this is the best place to stay in San Pedro, and if so, I cry for my town.  We recently stayed there for six weeks while our home was being redone, and it was an experience I long not to repeat.
This hotel seems to do most of its business with cruise ship passengers, and as such seems to feel no need to attract repreat business.
The lobby is quite attractive, while the guest rooms are ordinary motel style.  Because we were to be there for a long stay, we got a room with kitchenette.  No running water, and we had to use our own extension cord for the microwave.  We were right next to the wi-fi transmitter -- and could seldom get more than a very weak signal.
One of the strong points here was the "hot breakfast" offered.  Hot means waffles you make yourself.  Breakfast was all carbos, no protein.  Better to eat out at one of Pedro's great breakfast establishments -- but none within walking distance.
To make matters worse, the hotel abuts one of San Pedro's most notorious public housing projects, whose residents use the back parking lot as a cut-through to get into downtown.  One night my car was stolen.  And the usual pitch for funds by the passerbyers just raised the hassle factor of staying here.
This is the closest hotel to the cruise ship terminal, but unless you insist that the cruise itself to be the high point of your trip to Pedro, maybe try another place to spend the night.

This place was absolutely horrible!!!!!!!!!!! The customer service was unbelievable. Our family blocked off about 13 rooms in this hotel for New Years and they still treated us like dirt. The night before we arrived we tried booking another room and the lady in the front desk not only cussed at my fiance but also hung up on him after booking another room!!! At check out they tried charging us for 8 extra people in our room because late at night an employee thought he saw 8 people???? First off, we explained that everyone was hanging out in our room, rightfully so, celebrating after our New Years party was over. We explained that after we hung out, everyone went back to their room to sleep. They argued and argued that we had 8 people in the room and they could not reverse what the employee had put into the system??? Are you freaking kidding me, we gave them business & had 13 rooms yet still they didnt understand the concept??????? Everything was so surreal.. never again and unless you want to have a heart attack due to the rage you will experience from this family owned business, do not stay there!!!!!!!!
