this has been the clarion for about a year. Do not stay here!
The room I got was not as promised. it was filthy. curtains stained, TV broken, 5 lights didn't work (4 do to light bulbs and 1 was broken)
the staff can be scary and they walk around talking on cellphones to their friends.
the pool area was pleasant but the indoor umbrellas had inches of dust. the amount of cobwebs in the game room was bad.
Also, in the lounge they had five buckets scattered around to catch leaks from the cieling.
this place has seen better days
Yeah - I agree it's a little run down, but still VERY COOL in a kitchy way. The rooms look over or open up to an indoor tropical atrium complete with a tropical bar, pool and jacuzzi. Everything is steps from your room. The layout of the hotel is great and the staff was always very corteous. The housekeeping staff even came and hooked up my daughter's playstation to the tv when we couldn't figure it out. The price was also great. $219 for a room with 2 beds, 4 breakfast (not great but it was free and not continental it included eggs, sausage french toast etc.) and 4 tickets to Six Flags - a bargain. An additional night was only $93 with a AAA discount. I agree it could use some work, but there are plenty of cookie cutter hotels along that strip - so the fact that it's outdated didn't bother me at all because this place has some jazz. It ain't the Ritz - Hell it ain't even the Holiday Inn - but it is still VERY cool.
