Lodi was the last California wine frontier for Mom and me. Napa. Been there. Sonoma. Done that. Russian River. Check. Monterey. Uh-huh. Santa Barbara County...we love Santa Ynez. Temecula. Eh, yeah, but we don't admit it. We've even made it to Mendocino County. So, this time it was Lodi or bust.

We planned on finding a lovely little B&B to make this trip extra special. Strangely enough, there really isn't much in the way of this type of place in Lodi. So, we opted for clean and economical, hoping that we'd at least end up with clean.

Our jaws dropped upon pulling into the Best Western. "Hey, we exclaimed, this place is cute!" After all, we had expected plain and passable. Instead, there were cute flowers on the property, planted in wine barrels.

The rooms are clean and plenty large. The in-room fridge was a great place to store our cheese and chocolate...necessary snack items to accompany our wine.

    The price was right.

The location was perfectly central to Lodi's vineyards, tasting rooms, and downtown.

If you are thinking Lodi or bust, stop here.

This is a nice Best Western. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the free breakfast is pretty good. Free Wi-Fi, too.

i've slept at many Best Western's and this is a great one.

As you drive up Cherokee Lane you see all the trashy motel/hotel world has to offer - Budget, Thrifty etc and they all look like dumps and perhaps a little scary.

I arrived at Best Western and was greeted by RUBY - and she was warm, accomodating and gave me some great recommendations. She recommended Califa's restaurant up the street and it was great and reasonably priced.

The outside of the Best Western looks like any other hotel in that price range - I paid 71 for a AAA rate at this time of the year. Once inside the room - it had all been remodelled (clearly compared to the outside) w/ a big beautiful - NEW bed - geez that's the most important thing for me as I can no longer sleep on a park bench or bus like I did when I was 25. Nice TV, Fridge and Microwave.

Sounds normal ? I've stayed at many Hiltons, Hyatt's, and Hamptons - all of which I really like for much more money that these things are not normal are cost extra. WiFi worked easily and free - not so free at the 3 H's aforementioned.

The pool was great, the parking lot was clean - easy to walk in my barefeet from room to pool in. NIce place - I will be back again!

We stayed here to attend a wedding. There weren't may choices but I picked best western because it looked like the best and I wanted it to be a little vacation for my husband and I. I booked the "Wine country package" from the hotel website, which included a bottle of wine, a gift basket with cheese, crackers, cookies..., and a check out of 2pm.

We checked in and the staff was very nice but they knew nothing of the package. They said "they would get something together" 45 minutes later we received a bottle of wine with a large $5 price tag on the back and (this is the laughable part) 1 box of cookies and 1 box of COOKIE MIX!

The room was OK. The bed was nice but the bathroom needed an update. Oh and the Wi-Fi didnt work.

The next day the maid WALKED in on us at 9am wanting to clean the room!!! I was not in the best of dress to say the least.

I have never written a review for a hotel before, for this one I felt like I had to.

For the price we paid ($149 per night) it should have been MUCH better.

Decent motel,  but beware you may be placed in a smoking room. We asked to be changed to a nonsmoking room, but were told there was none available. If it is important for you to have a nonsmoking room, I would choose a different lodging.

    Amy, you are my hero.

I wanted a quiet place for my guy and I. Away from the teen-age boy, feline-smelling homestead. Close enough to feel like home. Romantic.

Soccer-something in town, and I had procrastinated. Mere hours away, I made a frantic call, because I just KNEW there had to be a nice room in this burg! I found one. And Amy made it better. I was going for a king-size bed, and, inquiring about the available amenities, was informed of this jewel.

Jacuzzi tub. Fresh EVERYTHING. Only a queen-size bed, but we made that work. Nicely.

Nicer place for your money, if you're coming to Lil Ole Lodi. The jacuzzi room will cost you more. I personally thought it was worth it.

This is a very nice hotel. It has the quality of a 4 star hotel. The bed is exceptionally comfortable and the decor is not tacky. My room came with a fridge and microwave.

I frequented this hotel with a party and the hotel staff were very helpful overall. However, many people felt the front desk lady was less than helpful ( thus four stars instead of five)

I was told that this hotel is going to be transformed into a wine centric hotel so look out for name changes and new additions.

I would recommend this hotel to friends. Overall, it was great!

We choose this Best Western because they were listed on the http://Dogfriendly.com website, and it was a great place to stay. AAA and AARP rates are 62.99 a night for a super comfortable King Size Bed (They use Sealey Pillow top mattresses, very nice), plus $20.00 for two dogs. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, particularly the woman who works days.
The hot breakfast with bacon, eggs, waffles and gravy, besides the usual toast, cereal, etc is a nice touch since it's included. Our room had a fridge and a microwave. We came out to Lodi to visit the Woodbridge area bird reserves and to see the SandHill Cranes at dusk, well worth the trip. We would stay at this Best Western again.

I tried to stay here once, I had no reservation but my sister was staying there with her family so I gave it a shot, went in to the office and asked if they had a room with two beds (I have kids) the lady at the front desk simply said 'no', ok no problem.  I drove away and decided to call around because I was too tired to just keep going around looking...so I got the idea to call this one and got the same lady and I asked for a room with 2 queen beds and she said no problem...er am I missing something?? So I asked her why didnt she have room 10 minutes ago when I stopped by and she said with a huff....'well I got a cancellation'... (this was about 8 pm and I noticed the parking lot was nearly empty when I was there).... so, I asked how much and it was like 90 which i thought was a little pricey for the looks of the place so I decided to go someplace better and tried the Holiday Inn Express down the street and got an amazing room, fabulous service and a huge discount after I told them what happened at Best Western.  From now on when I am visiting Lodi, I will stay at the Holiday Inn.
