This is a decent hotel for short trips.  It's tolerable for 1 or 2 nights.  I got a room for around $85 which I think is a little overpriced for what it is.

The room was fairly clean and updated, but the beds were soft and uncomfortable and the pillows were too puffy.  I loved the shower curtain there!  It wasn't completely opaque because the top half was clear so that light could come in and I could see out so it was less scary taking a shower.  I'm always scared when taking showers in hotels (probably from watching Psycho), so I really appreciated that cool shower curtain.  The free wireless internet was extremely convenient when I needed to work.  Breakfast consisted of hard-boiled eggs, waffles, toast, bagels, fruit, cereal, tea, coffee, and juice.

Downtown or Old Pasadena or whatever it's called is down the street with plenty of good shops and restaurants.  I like to watch TV and there were many good channels here, such as CNN, Fox, AMC, HGTV, MTV, VH1, . . .   I had lots of fun zapping.

I guess you can call me lazy. I just didn't feel like driving back and forth to Pasadena this weekend since I was there the entire weekend. I pricelined for a hotel in the area and this is what came up.

The going rate was $95 a night. A little steep considering Colorado is a row of mid-level hotels and questionable motels. I got the room for $70 which wasn't too bad.

There's a pool though I didn't partake. And the bathroom had been recently re-done because it was quite nice. My only complaint was the sink area didn't have any towel racks.

The bed was comfy, there were more channels on the TV than I expected and the air conditioning worked.

I was initially bummed out the room they gave me wouldn't let me in, the key card wasn't working but the next room was much better. It was in the corner, near the back stairs. However, I regretted the room in the morning when teenagers with boundless energy were running up and down those stairs before the ungodly hour of 8 a.m.

The room had a mini fridge as well. I do have to complain the paper coffee cups leaked! Even when I doubled up on cups, they still kept leaking.

Checking in and out was easy. But would I stay here again? I'm not sure. There are tons of places way closer to Old Town than this place. On the other hand, if you want something close to the big Target, sushi and right off the freeway, this is cool.

Room smelled a bit like pee, but who knows...  It's a Best Western in the L.A. area.  Maybe R. Kelly stayed here with some young Caltech coed and got his squirt on...

Other than that, it is pretty A-OK.  TV works.  Shower works.  Staff is friendly.  Plenty of things going on within walking distance...

Internet connection is included with the room, there is a sushi joint next door (soon to get Yelped!), fridge in the room, decent parking, etc...

Decent breakfast, excellent wireless connection, easily fulfilled my mom's request to be away from the main street, and comfy beds. Is there anything else a hotel should do? Not really, but it's not like it was a super, amazing five star experience.
