My friend's stayed at this Best Western three times, and for the most part, they're quick, prompt, clean, quiet and affordable.  While the best place is at a friend's or relative's place (cause it's free), the next best place to stay for the best bang for your buck appears to be here.

The fun part is remembering which Best Western you're staying at since there are two right across the street from each other :)

I have to book travel for my supervisor at work. It's embarrassing, and certainly not glamorous, but I do it. When my boss got back from his trip, he hit me with the following statement regarding his stay:

"It smells like a group of children urinated in the closet."

Alas, methinks the ole' BW gets two stars. Unfair since I didn't stay there myself? Perhaps, but it's still important to note. Do yourself a favor and head elsewhere.

I have stayed at the Best Western Pasadena Inn twice now, and I think I've possibly gotten the same room both times.  This type of place is one that I call a 3-star hotel masquerading as a 2-star hotel.  (And I've stayed in plenty of places where the opposite applies, and that ain't pretty.)  For a 2-star hotel, it's nicer than many 3-star establishments I've seen.  By no means is it fancy.  It's just conveniently-located, has a refrigerator in every room; it's very efficient and fast to get in and get out; the continental breakfast is nothing special, but about as good as many 3-star places offer.  The bathrooms are very nice, recently renovated, I'd say.  And, they tuck the shower curtain neatly into the safety handle on the tub wall, which is a nice touch.  And, they have free Internet, which is a must for a business traveler and hard to find in a 2-star hotel.  The going rate for this place is about $68 a night if I remember correctly.  Check kayak or http://sidestep.com.  Overall, I'd say this hotel is a great value for the area, and I've noticed on other websites, like http://hotels.com, it gets about a 6/10 while most of the cheaper hotels in the area get 2's and 3's.  Seems to be a good sign to me.
