We only had one fly in our room, 30something channels and I liked the remodeled bathroom even though they were super shady with the towels. There's a fridge for my snacks from home so that's cool too especially because while there's an ice machine, there's no soda machine.

Bonus points for the chain smoking apathetic receptionist straight out of a MadTV sketch.

Do you like flies? Lots and lots of flies? Does the idea of sleeping without a heater when it's 40 degrees outside sound appealing to you? Then this Best Western is for you!

My family traveled up to Turlock to spend some time with relatives during the holiday. It had just started to get cold and the flies traveled indoors in a bitter attempt to survive the last few days of fall. The hotel's solution to the problem was giving us a fly swatter. Which they then took away. There were literally at LEAST 5 flies in my room at all times.

The heater was broken, which added to our discomfort. They said they would discount our room rate for the inconvenience. The discount ended up being $10.

Foster farms is up the street. The smell of manure and chicken shit never leaves the air.

The linens were crap, scratchy, the beds were made out of Jell-O AND to top it all off there was a dog show in town the weekend we were there. Howling, whining, barking and dog fights could be heard from rooms all around us.

They didn't change the linens on our bed for one of the nights because a pair of pants were left on the bottom of the bed and it's their policy to not touch people's private items.

They DO have HBO for free, but Cathouse wasn't on any of the nights I stayed at the hotel. That's minus one star just for that.

I would never EVER stay here again. But then again, it's really the only game in town so you might just be S.O.L., but I've thought up a solution for you. Don't go to Turlock. Or sleep in your car.
