We had low expectations so we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. (I just noticed that accommodations has a lot of c, m, a, and o's, thanks to spell check).  The location was right next to the freeway so it was easy access.  We had a king bed and originally planned to stay only 2 nights, but ended up staying like 13 nights.  The staff was very friendly and I even got a AAA rate, even though I don't have AAA, because we were staying during the weekdays.  The white sheets, body pillows, and towels were clean, comfy, and still fluffy.  They give you 2 complimentary water bottles every day, which was a thoughtful gesture especially in that Los Angeles heat.  The room was cleaned and vacuumed every day.  Breakfast is complimentary, from 6:30am-9:30am with make your own waffles, eggs, cereal, breads, and fruit. (They even have the Asian eggs that's cooked in soy sauce!)

A few things could have made the whole experience better.  The rooms don't have a microwave so you'd have to use the lobby one.  The pool is small but there's also a jacuzzi.  The dining area is small so finding a seat is more difficult around 8-9.

Stay here 3 times.  The rooms are clean, comfortable, and updated.  Good wifi signal in all the rooms I stayed in.  I would suggest staying away from the pools.  There were a few flies in the swimming pool and while soaking in the hot tub, I got infected with hot tub rash (Pseudomonas folliculitis) after I returned home.  Other than the pools, it's a great place to stay.  I would definitely stay here again.

After reading Yelp reviews, I wasn't too sure about staying at this Best Western.  I was going to stay in the area for about a week so I needed a good price, this place took AAA.  Upon arriving I found it actually to be better than Best Westerns I've experienced before.  The crew just needs to get their act together with their own practices & procedures because they did fumble the ball several times when I wanted to extend my stay/room key malfunction and attempted to collect payment when I didn't even check out yet?  Other than those minor problems, you can't beat $72 a night, overall I was very pleased with my stay and I saved a ton of cash to spend on my vacation instead.  After all, I just need a toilet, bed and security, I would be out enjoying my day elsewhere!

So I needed a cheap place to stay in LA because I was blowing a wad on orchestra tickets for the LA Opera. Lo and behold, I find this Best Western outpost in Monterey Park...and it turns out to be one of the best bargains for the overnight motel set. I'm not sure if they have hourly rates....but hey, I was able to secure a single king-size bed for less than $60 a night for four nights. Such a deal.

If you have a burning desire to be surrounded by Chinese/Taiwanese supermarkets and restaurants, this is the place for you, especially since it is owned and operated to fit in with the neighborhood. But the big perk to me is how close it is to the San Bernardino Freeway, the 10, a main artery to get pretty much anywhere in LA. You can jump in you car and get to downtown during non-rush hour in about 20 minutes, and the gorgeous Huntington Library is only about fifteen minutes away if you continue north on Atlantic Blvd.

The rooms are clean with TVs that have all the Chinese channels you could possibly want (and the local stations, of course). In a tiny buffet area off the lobby, they indeed offer free breakfast. All the 1,000-year old eggs your heart desires. I was excited to use the Belgian waffle turner, my first such interface with such an appliance...unfortunately I may be hooked enough to buy one at home since they were tasty. Now if someone can just fill little styrofoam cups of batter for me to pour...

Since I don't have a laptop, I took advantage of a lobby PC to get e-mail even though they set it up so you can't sit down. Very clever. So if the Sunset Strip has got you reaching for loose change in your pocket, you should definitely consider this place for your next visit to LA.

Matt has stayed at this Best Western Hotel in Monterey Park a couple of times. The reason why he chose this Best Western hotel is that it is in the heart of one of Los Angeles' adjoinning Chinatown neighborhood. The hotel is walking distance away from many restaurants and shopping of all types. Also the Hotel is runned and owned by Chinese. The ambiance is very, you say "oriental"

The single bedroom was $59.00 a night. The room has changed since the last time he was here. They remodelled the bathrooms and added a hot-tub. What a Deal! The TV channels are usually limited at every hotel Matt  & I go, but this room provide free Chinese telecast. Matt can watch his Chinese network here!  When Matt is bored , he can watch a Cantonese movie. With over 8 million hotels in LA, Matt will continue to make reservation and stay at this Best Western when he comes to LA.

Stayed here countless times during road trips down to LA.

Close to the freeway (right off the 10), conveniently located to the entrance of literally the heart of little Taiwan, and tons of Chinese/Taiwanese restaurants in the area, what more could you ask for?

This place takes triple A membership cards for discount too.

This is a decent hotel at a decent price.  You can tell that it is just barely being held together by the rules and regulations imposed by the Best Western franchise name.  Right now there is a huge construction project going on next door, so noise is a real issue.  You get pretty much what you'd expect for the price.

Do I have to pick a star at all? This is a health warning to all - Do Not Stay here. This place has BEDBUGS!  It was ironic, too, because I had just written a newspaper article about the nationwide spread of bedbugs. At 1 am, I woke because something was on my pillow, I turned on the light and saw the telltale, red, flat, appleseed shaped bugs in the bed. There were 2 beds in the room and both were infested. Needless to say I hauled out of there to a $300 a night place in Pasadena, burned my clothes and took a long shower. The manager was sheepish and didn't charge me, but EEEEEW.
