I stayed here for 4 nights/5 days in January. I am generally not to picky about hotels, and I selected this hotel based on price and location.

When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly staff member who answered our questions and was very helpful. The staff always had good recommendations for places to eat or have a few drinks.

The room itself was great; it was spacious, immaculately clean, had a very functional lay out, and yes the jacuzzi soaker tub was lovely. We weren't water facing, but could see it from the balcony area outside of our room. It was quiet and serene, a very relaxing place to unwind.

They offer a daily continental breakfast which is quiet basic, but I was more than content with a daily bagel and cream cheese with coffee and juice. I would definately go back to this hotel on  my next trip to Laguna.

i stayed here this past saturday for a wedding and this place was amazing.  The room was a perfect size for us..very clean with a nice flat screen mounted on the wall. bathroom was huge and the jacuzzi tub was the best part about it for sure. you can fit 2 for sure with alot of leg room left.  parking was very easy as well.. they give you a permit for your car.  Its walking distance from the beach so that makes it great plus your in the heart of laguna which is a plus too. overall a great experiance and will look forward to coming back next time when i need to stay a night in laguna =)

My first experience at this hotel was wonderful but the second time we stayed here, prompted me to write this review and only give the establishment 2 stars.

The first time we came here was in early July. My bf surprised me by reserving a room for us for the weekend. We had an outside room overlooking PCH. I loved sitting out on the balcony with a bottle of wine and just spending quality time together. Our room had a sunken spa tub, which I thought was absolutely WONDERFUL.

He had a dozen white roses delivered to the room before we arrived and the staff was wonderful in cooperating with him to ensure that all of the little surprises were in place. The room was clean and well appointed. We enjoyed continental breakfast in the lobby the next morning and headed out to the Las Brisas Restaurant for dinner later.

I enjoyed this first experience so much that when my girlfriend was getting married in Laguna Beach a year later, I booked a room for the wedding weekend.

Sadly, the place had really gone down since our last stay. (However, the room rate was higher.) We were cramped in to a much smaller room facing the pool and right next to the stairs. We had to contend with the noise level all night long. The room was not very clean and had spiders crawling around. The so-called spa tub was just a larger bathtub in the bathroom, unlike the one we enjoyed during our first visit.

I certainly will never stay here again - I'll just take away my fond memories from my first visit and leave it at that!

It's a good value BUT in spite of the renovations you can't help but feel it's 1960 all over again . . . which for some people is not bad :-)  Our room was clean and the big hot tub was nice.  However, it is located RIGHT ON the Pacific Coast Highway and the sound of traffic invaded our room.  You can see the beach if you go to the fourth floor deck and stand on your toes.  It is not a beach resort.

All that being said, there are some places nearby that you can walk to and enjoy.  We discovered Kaffee Klatch for breakfast and loved it.  And many galleries are nearby.  And if you don't mind navigating through the hotel properties across the street, you can get to the beach.

So, awhile back, this guy (whom I had a casual relationship with, ahem) tried to get me to meet him here for a rendezvous. It was hard enough to get past the fact that this is in fact, a Best Western, but then came the sexy icing:  "Yeah, I have a lot of Amex points that I could use and get a free room."

Fercryinoutloud, are you #@$! serious? Ohnoyoudint. Sigh. Since then, I've vowed, "No more surfers." Needless to say, I didn't accept the invitation.

Fast forward a few years. I had to organize my own little tryst and decided to spare my roommates' ears, so lo' and behold, I booked a room here on a spur-of-the-moment. It's right across the street from the ocean (and down the street from the ritzier Surf & Sand resort) but wow, I have to say, it was hard to believe it was a Best Western. For less than $100 (Priceline/Hotwire rocks!), we had an immaculate and well-appointed room, a balcony and most importantly, a very fun giant jacuzzi in the room (hence the 'spa hotel' part).

So, uh, if you're looking for a hotel tryst right by the ocean without the motel sleaze, come here. I definitely got my money's worth.

This place is unbelievable. $99/night in Laguna Beach. Maybe the only negative is the carpet is a little old, and the walls are a little thin, but no worse than any other hotel and everything else is great. Nice widescreen TVs, jacuzzi tubs in the room, a good-sized bathroom, comfortable bed, clean, continental breakfast, friendly staff, free parking, easy to get in and out, free wireless Internet, and what more do you want for $99/night?? :)

Lovely hotel, with an excellent whirlpool spa for 2 in the bathroom (make sure you request it when you make reservations).  I had a top floor room with a view of the ocean - the room wasn't huge, but was very nice, with a flat screen TV.  I loved the sundeck, and the pool and Jacuzzi on the top floor. I enjoyed  a complimentary continental breakfast each morning while contemplating the sea - a great way to see Laguna Beach at a reasonable price.
