    9/7/2011 1 Check-in Here

Came here not to stay at the motel, but rather, to take the classroom component of a motorcycle course I was taking.

    Here are my impressions:
    - the place looks pretty clean
    - the area does not look too safe, so lock up/hide your valuables in your car
    - the place is very easy to miss as you turn into the driveway right after a traffic light
    - the parking lot is spacious and there was a lot of parking

    Nothing bad, nothing good.

The rooms are spacious, nice, and I believe all rooms have microwaves and mini refrigerators, a very big plus as far as I'm concerned.  The pool is not heated (if it is, it ain't warm enough) but there is a nice hottub.  Nice breakfast room with a large variety of things to eat, hot or cold.  Last time I was there I believe they had hot breakfast burritos.   Free USA today paper for hotel guests can be picked up in the breakfast room.

I give them only 2 stars because (in addition to the cold swimming pool) if there is anything that sets me off is people going into my room when I'm not there.  I was there for an extended stay and, as usual, l leave the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on my doorknob, only to return and find that housekeeping entered my room.   I complained immediately to the front desk where a nice lady explained to me that it is their policy to enter the room every other day of your stay whether you have the "do not disturb" tag on your door or not.    ..HUH???

And, the surrounding "A Street" area is pretty ghetto so be careful.

I have to agree with the previous two reviews, notice, the "only" two reviews...  'Might give you an idea of how many yelp*ers DO NOT stay there...  'Or at least honest enough to admit to it. 8/
I have no shame, no one to impress...  'And if you want to look down on me for staying here too, screw you!  Don't judge me!! 8)

Yeh, it's pretty ghetto, right off of A Street.  It was late, I was tired, needed a place to get some "R&R"...  I was surprised to see how many cars were in the parking lot, that was a bit comforting.

I got the "kitchen suite," a room with a small kitchenette, fridge, and microwave.  I didn't need a kitchen but it was one of the only rooms available that permitted smoking.  They had a "jacuzzi suite" available as well, that would've been cool too...  Why did I get the damn kitchen one? 8/ (I don't usually "smoke" but that evening was an exception.)

I woke up early the next morning, they offer a complimentary "breakfast" from 7:30am - 9:30am.  I was the first one there, the spread was okay.  It's not the Hilton...  It's Best Western Inn of Hayward.

I was pleasantly surprised at what they had.  The breakfast spread consisted of coffee, milk, juice, cold cereal, breakfast rolls, make your own waffles, or breakfast sandwich...  'Not bad.

The cost of the room was $95 + tax.
Overall, it was a fair experience but I was only there one night.
The area is what gives Best Western Inn of Hayward a low rating...
I grew up in the Hayward/Union City area and this is not a prime location for this place.

I was actually headed to the La Quinta Inn Suites-Hayward Oakland Airport a few minutes away on Hesperian Blvd. (5 yelp* reviews - 4/5 Stars)  The next time I'm in the area and I need a place to hang my hat, I already bookmarked La Quinta on my yelp* page.

*Note: The two star rating is largely attributed to the location, it could've easily have scored three stars.

Not a great location, but a fabulous free breakfast spread, a gazillion tv channels, large rooms, free access to computer with printer, internet, and microsoft office programs.  Downside: close to freeway and noisy, ghetto area.

A few of us were in town for a conference and I have generally stayed at Best Western for the convenience the refrigerator and microwave provide so I don't have to go out to get fast food at all hours of the night. The stay started off poorly when we arrived and there were 3 police cars parked in the front of the hotel. The second incidence was when I checked in and the hotel did not have my correct room reserved and instead had me booked in a smoking room which I DETEST and my sister needed handicap accommodations and there were none. I finally argued enough and got my room switched to non-smoking. The rooms were nice enough, but the bathrooms are old and very very small!! All of the appliances were unplugged including the clock, the air conditioner, the lights and the microwave. Very upsetting when you have to plug everything back in. In the morning we went to eat breakfast in the tiny breakfast room and a group of people had come and ate all of the meat before 8:30 am and we were only left with eggs rounds and cold cereal and the line was so long for the waffle maker, I decided to just eat fruit and cold cereal. However, the beds were comfortable, the room was clean and it wasn't as noisy as I thought it was going to be since the hotel was filled to capacity. All in all I can only give this hotel a 2 star rating and will in all likelihood not return to this location.

Came here for the MSF course in their conference room.  The location seems to be really ghetto.  I was a little scared parking my car in the back lot for 5 hours.  While sitting in the conference room close to 10pm people were in the pool/jacuzzi yelling and screaming and jumping into the pool being hella loud.  During our 10 minute break we went to use the soda machine on the 3rd floor it only took coins not bills.  Also we got a diet coke and it tasted really OLD and stale.  We checked the bottom of the can and it said 05/08.
