An old building, the rooms are small.  Staff was remarkably casual, and not eager.

Nothing wrong with it, but this hotel is just a place to sleep while visiting family in Bay Ridge.

Seems to book up fast.

TERRIBLE.  DO NOT STAY HERE.  

Here was our letter to their physical address aswell as to their "email service" at Best Western's Website.

Dear Management of the BW Gregory Hotel,

I am writing to express my experience that I shared with my wife while staying at your hotel.  I must inform you ahead that my experience was very unpleasant and I want you to be aware of how I feel and how I will portray your hotel for the future.  Our reservations dates were check in on Friday August  28th, 2009  to check out date of Monday August 31st, 2009.  
On our first night that we checked in, we arrived at about 10:30pm.  The Hispanic Woman at the front desk, was very friendly and checked us in promptly.  When we were given the keys to our room, we opened to the door to the hotel room to find that no one had cleaned our room yet.  We quickly addressed this with your host at the front desk and were advised that we would get a new room.  
By the time we arrived to the second room, it was already about 11:00pm.  The second room was in the exact same shape as the first room, left unnoticed and never cleaned by your hotel cleaning maids.  We went back downstairs for the second to address this and your host again apologized for the inconvenience.  She was really sincere about the issue that we were experiencing and we did not show any anger towards her, just disappointment.  She tried to book us into a new room, but unfortunately, the only one left that was comparable was a twin bed smoking room.  We kindly turned that down and decided to accept to sleep in the second un-cleaned room. We waited in the lobby and by the time the hostess had our room "cleaned" it was well past 12:00am and our room was only haphazardly cleaned.  There was dust everywhere and the carpets felt very unclean.  The bed sheets had a smell to them and we just hoped that the room maid changed them rather then just making the bed.  The room number was #316.

We spent a total of 3 uncomfortable nights in your companies Hotel room.  The constant thought of the room not being cleaned from its prior occupants was very disturbing and laying down in bed looking up at the dusty ceiling fixtures (fire extinguisher nozzles) made us feel like we were in a very unhealthy environment.
The final incident that made us furious and essentially "the straw that broke the camel's back" was the last day when we were checking out.  There was a African American woman at the front desk this time. After all that we had been through on our vacation and our stay with your company, she said only three words to us.  "What room number?"  We gave her our credit card, she swiped it and handed it back.  There was no smile, no eye contact, nothing.  

Our trip to New York City was the first vacation that we have taken in over 2 years. It was to help my son get settled into New York as he just got accepted to Columbia University for his Masters Degree. The city was beautiful and the time spent with our son and friends was memorable.  However, the thought of spending money to come home to the terrible sleeping conditions for 3 straight nights ruined our entire vacation and the attitude of the last hostess in your hotel was completely rude and disrespectful.  I hope that you will take corrective action against the lack of organization between your front desk and the cleaning maids and also the very rude person during our check out.  I wanted to give you and your company a fair chance to address our experience before I do my recommended reviews on Expedia, Yahoo, Google, and http://Yelp.com.  My wife and I plan on visiting my son often, however, due to the previous experience; we do not expect to return to your hotel.  I sincerely hope to hear from you very soon.   Please note a copy of this was sent to you and also your corporate headquarters.

My parents stayed here about six months ago, and they said things were decent, so I recommended it to my my friend's family when they were finding a place to stay. I feel it must have been declining since then. I'm not giving one star for poor service or anything, but they found three bugs in the beds. I saw two of them myself when we were all hanging out in the room playing a board game one night. They are used to roughing it so they didn't complain to the staff or anything, but if it was me I would be freaked out and unable to sleep. I'm not sure if they were actual bedbugs but... they were bugs. In beds.

EDIT: I'm sure they were bedbugs now. They've all since discovered bedbug bites. Sick!
