Best Western Edgewater Resort

This hotel has gradually gone down hill. It's slated to be torn down with something new in its place later this year or next according to some locals. The staff and owners seem to be doing the very bare minimums to keep making money. The hot tub has been broken the past four or five times I've stayed here, the front desk personnel don't seem to care about customers, they refuse to allow early check ins even though there's barely anyone here, and the property seems to be barely hanging on. The only thing this location has going for it is the proximity to the town which is walking distance to everything. I'm a Diamond Select member with Best Western, but planning future stays at the new Marriot that opens in Ponderay next month.

This hotel was the one of the best experiences I have ever had. The front desk staff were so accommodating and wonderful. Our train (they are right by the train station) was three hours late. Ben the late night front desk associate was so kind and made us feel comfortable and welcome. There was a glitch in their system (which seemed to happen often, perhaps they need an upgrade), and he accommodated us and we went smoothly to our beautiful room over looking the gorgeous lake and mountains. The beds were so comfortable and the room was very clean. We swam in the beautiful pool and sat in the hot tub to sooth our aching muscles. We got up too late to have breakfast, but the girls on the morning shift actually went out of their way to make sure we had a healthy breakfast, heating up sandwiches and offering us muffins and juice and coffee.
We then wanted to stay another night and they were fully booked. But then found us a nice room on the ground floor with a Jacuzzi in the room. We fully enjoyed our stay!!! Then we stayed at my parents house the next night and the next we were getting on a train back home. The train was departing at 1am and the staff at the hotel let us stay there until our train came in. Exceptional service and wonderful friendly people. I will go back again.

Walking into the hotel hallway, I was hit with the smell of chlorine, and it was so hot! The rooms are outdated, curtains and carpets were dirty, and the sheets/bedding didn't look great either. My colleague's room smelled of urine, and the bathroom was dirty. We both checked out within 15 minutes of checking in. I do not recommend and will not be back.

Worst experience ever!

If you want 'The Best', this is certainly not the hotel to go to! There was terrible service within this establishment because the staff was very rude and did not provide the proper behavior a hotel should withhold. They are very racist towards minority groups and provided little to no effort towards us. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone and please reconsider your options.

Very nice rooms. Clean, bright lighting, nice bedding. I liked going and sitting in the hot tub and steam room at night. I love how you can just walk right out onto the beach. Also the restaurant attached does room service and they have good food.

We checked in early morning do to a long train delay. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The room was comfortable and clean. The view was amazing. Would recommend this establishment to others.

Crazy front desk worker, kicked us out for walking and "making noise". We're 50 year olds, not partying

Worst stay ever! Front desk guy is an immature prick. Don't stay on top floor walls are very then. You'll get kicked out for using the bathroom after hours. Overpriced! Poor quality hotel.

Don't stay here, we thought this would be a great beachfront stay; geese poop everywhere grass area and beach area, room needs to be updated, dusty, moldy, towels thin as paper towels. Walls were so thin you can hear every slightest noise. Night time front desk guy was so rude, obnoxious, unprofessional, disrespectful person I've ever encountered in a place of business. Best Western picked a good one. Guess they'll hire anyone. For $350/ night I expected better!! Such disappointment .

Love the hot tub, pool, view, and location; Easy access to downtown, and they are pet friendly! Restaurant has a beautiful view, great service, and awesome food.
