Stayed here for one night and it was a much better experience that I've expected. The hotel was easy to locate; given that it was the Frost time I've visited the area. It was right off the freeway with a large sign on a tall post. You cannot miss it.
We were greeted by the front desk with no wait upon our arrival. Our room was available immediately. The lady offered us an upgrade for $30 dollars to the suite. We accepted it and I have to say, it was the most worth while $30 I've spent for the entire trip. The room came with a gas fireplace, a relatively large tub, a balcony and a mini fridge. It was clean and comfortable. As you can see by my profile pic, we took advantage of the soft mattress as well.
What took 1 start away was the relatively noisy air condition unit. It kept me up after a day of winery visits. The temperature was also hard to control. it would either be too hot or too cold in the room. But then again, it is a best western. You can't expect a 5 star experience for the price of a 2-3 star.
Our stay also included complimentary breakfast. The food was descent. It looked delicious. However, because of time constrain, I did not get to use the waffle maker that I was eyeing across the room. But definitely a good experience for the price. I would highly recommend it for anyone who happens to be in the area.
Judging from the pictures, this place should be awesome. However, i should have known that paying $150 per night for a hotel room in the wine country was too good to be true. What a let down.
Basically, they took an old cheap motel, made some cosmetic changes to give it a Mediterranean feel, and left the rooms mostly unchanged, save for a coat of paint. Everything from the bathrooms, to the carpet, to the linens, and walls just felt cheap, like a $40 per night motel on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere.
Epic fail.
OK, we weren't looking for a romantic getaway, but some place cheap in Healdsburg that we could crash for a wedding. We also had two small children with us. They let us check in early at 10 am which was a HUGE lifesaver given the 100 degree heat. Beds were comfortable, and we pricelined this.
The beds were like Westin's despite it being a Best Western. Bathroom was a bit dingy. Really, the 5 stars comes from the early check-in.
I never thought I'd give this hotel chain a five star review. But if you pay just a little bit more for the new Tuscan rooms, you'll never believe you were in a Best Western.
Surprisingly, we had a great experience here for three days. Not only was our room impeccably clean (on entrance, and every morning after housekeeping visited), it was furnished with a fireplace, a big jacuzzi tub, and beautiful paintings. The bed was very comfortable, the whole room smelled fresh, and the hotel and surrounding area was quiet. We had a balcony that overlooked the courtyard with a small table and chair set. The service was great, and an employee provided us with alternate bike paths for our longer bike trips on less congested roads. They also provided free tasting vouchers for some of the local wineries. We took advantage of the continental breakfast every morning, which was decent considering the size of the hotel. Bonus points for 12pm checkout, and the fact that downtown Healdsburg is only a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute bike ride.
We loved this place so much that we called it home for three days, and we plan on staying here again during our next visit to Healdsburg. Compared to other hotels in the area where you'll pay double or triple the cost, it's worth it to check out.

Didn't spring for the Tuscan rooms, but thought this was a good option for 169 given the alternatives were 300-400/night. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was free and ok and there was a pool I didn't check out that seemed swimmable. Good location off the highway, close to downtown and a couple miles from a bunch of wineries.
It was a little noisy but I think it was manageable.
We stopped by this Best Western the night before taking a tour at a nearby possible wedding location (Madrona Manor). Normally -- in a typical location -- I would have expected a nicer place for the rate we paid. However this was pretty much the cheapest we could find. With that said, the Best Western was a solid, overnight type of place. Nothing special, but solid. I will say this, though...Healdsburg in general is a difficult place to navigate through at night -so be prepared.

Ended up here when I couldn't find any rooms in Santa Rosa or Windsor (my event was in Santa Rosa and the fair, weddings and high school reunions were in full force). Although convenient to the freeway, the location is not desirable if you're looking for wine country beauty. Bottom line...it's a fixed up roadside motel. But, they did a nice job with the upgrade...the rooms were great, complete with oversized spa tub, gas fireplace, stereo, and pretty Tuscan decor. Service was excellent. The breakfast, however, was disappointing after staying at many hotels of this level and getting scrambled eggs, fresh oatmeal, etc. This was the most basic of continentals. If you're in a pinch, don't hesitate to stay here...but, if you can find a place with a more picturesque location, go for it!

Stayed at Dry Creek Inn for the 1st time. The Inn is really close to downtown and the wineries. I would stay there again
Don't stay here!
My fiance and I came to Healdsburg for the evening to have dinner at Cyrus, and decided to stay the night. Dry Creek Inn was the cheapest we could find, and now I know why.
I didn't realize it was a Best Western, but I have stayed at decent Best Western's before.. When we checked in we asked for a room with a balcony, because my fiance smokes, but were told it would cost us an additional $100. Our room wasn't bad, but at 6am we were woken up by LOUD people packing up their cars and not realizing that people were still asleep. At 7am we experienced the same thing. I guess people don't realize how their voices carry.. Didn't bring shampoo, and boy did I regret that. The "shampoo" was in a dispenser in the shower and was watered down pink stuff... Can't say anything better about the "shower gel" either. The towels were like sand paper and the toilet (which was eco-friendly) took forever to flush.
Bottom line: stay somewhere else if you want a decent night sleep and legit shampoo.

Stayed midweek (Wednesday evening) and it was actually nicer than I had expected which was a pleasant surprise. I stayed in the middle of the three buildings on the third floor and found it to be pretty quiet. The room was clean and the bed was very cozy. The bathroom and sink area were a bit dated but nothing you can't deal with. The Tuscon building is very cool as are the pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna. The free continental breakfast was an unexpected surprise, nothing fancy but you could pull together a very adequate meal. I even walked into town; it's only about a mile away and the road has a paved trail the entire way. For $99 a night I would stay here again.
The Tuscan rooms are awesome! If you look at my ratings, you'll see that I stay at a lot of Best Western hotels (mostly for work), but this one is by far the best. Fireplace, jacuzzi tub, somewhat private patio, big room, and music in the bathroom (kinda cool when you are in the tub). I agree with Patrice C, you will never believe you are at a Best Western with the new Tuscan-like building and pool.
Pros:
- clean
- spacious
- near great wineries
- cheaper than a lot of Healdsburg hotels
- jacuzzi tub!
Cons:
- the couple upstairs having loud sex
- the AC upstairs was a little noisy
I'll give it a 4 star - based on expectations. It's a nice place, well located, nice staff and clean. Seemed newer and updated. We got a very reasonable rate. The diner (Adel's) is pretty good as those places go. No complaints.
For what you pay, this is a good deal.
The bed was very comfortable. There was a private patio with jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room a very short distance away from our back porch.
The heat worked well, the tub was very comfortable, and the place was clean, neat, and well decorated. Parking was abundant, even if there was a pickup with a large boat attached parked right in front of the main access pathway to our room. The management must be very tolerant.
We received a free continental breakfast. It was quite enough, and it was acceptable.
hey, if you're a AAA-member, you can pay less, get value for money and importantly, and stay in a freshly renovated place that seems much quieter and friendlier (I wandered in lost on my way to the Best Western, and felt remorse creeping in which hit hard by the next morning), called America's Best Value Inn on the other side of town. but if you're stuck, then this is ok to crash for a single night if you can tolerate the ground floor smokers, large families with bike racks, dogs and all that other crappy noise.
super clean, extremely comfortable bed, good location to downtown. plush accommodations for a best western - the room even had a jacuzzi bathtub! definitely exceeded my expectations!!!!
I stayed here as we are having a wedding in wine country and were checking on hotels for our guests to stay at (we informed some guests about this hotel, but after reading some reviews, we wanted to stay here to check on the property/our recommendation). Now, let me preface this by saying that I travel every week for work both domestically and internationally and have seen pretty much every type of room and situation. In summary, this was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. When I travel to third world countries, I expect the room to be a little rough and take precautions by bringing slippers, etc, now this place takes to the next level in both lack of cleanliness and SERVICE (more to come).
Ok, our experience...we check in on a Thursday night around 1:00 a.m. as our flight was delayed, we were a little shocked by the dirtiness of the carpets after check-in, but in any event, we were happy to put our heads down. The next morning we get up at dawn, leave by 9:00 a.m. and are in meetings all day. When we return at 5:00 p.m., we come back to our room and see that it has not been made up. Thus, I call the front desk to inform them that we need room service. I am told by the front desk that the maid staff is gone for the day and he could "send a maintenance worker to TRY to clean the room if I like" (can you believe that??? TRY to clean it). Thus, as anyone would do, I informed him that room service is a basic service of any hotel and I asked for the manager. I was informed that he was on break and has been working all day and cannot meet right now. As such, this prompted me to walk down to the office and attempt to resolve the situation. After a bit of time, I met the manager, cancelled my second night, cancelled my wedding guests reservations for the following month, and re-booked everyone at the Hilton and check into a competing hotel (Hilton Santa Rosa) and had an excellent stay at the Hilton.
Again, let me stress, I was never upset during the situation, as I have traveled every week for over 10 years and come to get used to special situations. However, this one really stands out for several reasons: 1st, the hotel is a complete pit. 2nd, the good reviews must be written by the owners or a service, 3rd, they did not provide basic services, 4th, made no effort to resolve the issues and finally 5th, was never even offered an apology for the inconvenience.
Worst stay of my life to date...and yes, I have stayed in hotels in Burma, Laos and Nicaragua.
AVOID, camping without a tent is much better!!!! Don't trust the good reviews as I would highly doubt the validity of the authors.
If you want a comfortable, clean, rather large room with room to move about in a pretty large chain hotel, and you don't care too much about breakfast, than stay here.
It's not a converted Victorian with quaint, cozy rooms, which start at $150 for a room no bigger than the canopied queen sized bed and go up to $300+ for the bigger room complete with hot tub, bidet and claw-footed tub, all of which come with a specially prepared breakfast and scintillating conversation with the proprietress. But then again, I'm ok paying $99/night to sleep in a fairly comfortable queen bed with clean sheets and be able to walk to down-town.
The breakfast is mediocre -- cold cereal, waffles, some yogurt, some fruit, some pastries -- but it's $99/night. We stayed on the second floor of the older place and had none of the noise issues that plagued the other folks who commented here. They do have a newer section across the driveway. The bathroom is tiny; the fan is noisy; the towels are a little thin. But we had room to store our bicycles, the front-desk people were friendly; they had complementary wine-tastings at several of the local wineries, and made some solid recommendations for dinner.
I'd stay here again in a heart-beat.

We stayed here this past weekend and it was about what you could expect from a BW.
The Good:
Clean Rooms
Reasonable rates if you're on a budget
Friendly Staff
Free Breakfast
12:00 Check out - good for sleeping in
Close to Downtown Healdsburg and the River Rock casino
The Bad:
Thin walls - you hear everything
No water pressure (They should call it a sprinkle not a shower)
Uncomfortable Beds (no bed is your bed, but these were so hard)
All in all it was a good experience. It's not like we were expecting the W or anything!
Sorry THURSTON HOWELLS.. not all of us can afford the $500 per night minimum rooms at Les Mar in downtown Healdsburg. People, this hotel is totally fine and like someone said - you get what you pay for. Everything is what you would expect from a Best Western. 80s style, but spacious rooms, friendly staff and a basic continental breakfast. Best part is its only a 15 minute walk into downtown.
Make sure you check on the internet (their website) for special deals. I got a rate that was $50 cheaper than http://hotels.com or other travel websites.
Keep in mind, this is the Best Western. I feel that you get what you pay for here. The rooms are clean, they are average and the walls are not made of sound proof materials. The continental breakfast is basic, but I didn't expect eggs benny. We came in January and the price was good so I felt like I got my money's worth. I definitely would not pay much over $150 a night for these rooms and I would only do so if I HAD to stay in the are when the prices were that high.
Loud is one thing, but cheating is another. We stayed there the other night, knowing that there was construction going on nearby (pretty obvious). Asking the front desk about the noise in the morning, the response was "never very loud".
Right... Before 7:00am the diesels show up. Gunning engines and the incessant beeping of them backing trailers up into the site. That site was 30' from our room. 7:30, the backhoe, now 25' from our room fires up. And on top of this, they charged $139 for the room!
When I complained in the morning, the response was, "yeah, we keep telling the manager about it". I guess the owners are pleased that they can still fill rooms during the construction. I for one, will never go back and will question every Best Western place from here on.
Dumb asses.

Despite the bum reviews, we stayed here because we were late booking and didn't have a lot of options and got a great rate online through the hotel's website ($99 a night). We have been extremely pleasantly surprised. We're staying in the "Vintage" (old) building, not the nicer "Tuscan" one, but we've found it to be clean, quiet, and actually pretty nicely appointed. The beds are very comfortable, the pools are nice, and the continental breakfast buffet was pretty decent too. Don't get me wrong, it's not a luxury hotel, but it's much nicer than what I thought we'd get at a best western for such a low price. The management and staff have been very friendly and even accommodated an odd request (sent up someone from maintenance at 10:00pm who let us freeze some ice packs in the employee lounge). Overall, we're very pleased. Our room is not on the highway 101 side, so maybe that's why it's been so quiet for us, but we haven't heard any freeway noise or otherwise. We also haven't heard noise from any other guests, which could be due to the fairly loud A/C, but in any event, we've been quite happy here.
Healdsburg is a pricey place to hang out, so saving a little on the hotel while still being comfortable is a big bonus.
Loud, noisy, loud, loud, and oh yeah...this place is loud.
Okay, okay, I know this is a motel and my expecations should have been set accordingly, but this place went above and beyond the call of duty for being a loud, obnoxious motel. Tons of street noise, tons of stomping from our neighbors above us, and tons of 7am conversations in the parking lot that sounded like they were in bed with us. Let me tell you, hearing too old bastards talk about their motorcycles at 7am when you're trying to bounce back from a day full of sun and wine is not pleasant. Had I been even a little bit capable of getting out of bed at that hour, I would kicked some old man ass. Instead I laid there praying to any god that would listen to strike them down where they stood. Thankfully they rode off before I could muster the strength to do anything and presumably before my gods got around to helping me out. But you get the point.
So in a nutshell, if you're having a kegger weekend, this place is fine. If you're looking for something more subdued, I would pay the extra 50 bucks and go somewhere nicer.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. We booked through Expedia and paid $130, which is a decent rate (not a great deal) for a Best Western, particularly one that is pretty much a roadside motel (you park in front of your room). We read on Tripadvisor that we should request the rooms in the updated "Tuscan" wing, so we did. When we arrived, they put us in the "Vintage" (read=old) wing, despite our request. When we asked to be moved, they said that because we booked through Expedia it would cost an additional $100 per night, even though there was plenty of availability. $230 per night for a roadside motel??? I don't think so. We stayed in the old room. Most saavy travelers these days look for deals at sites like Expedia or http://Hotels.com, and if hotels are booking through them, they shouldn't discriminate against the travelers who use them. If you're going to wine country, book a B&B instead.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Dry Creek Inn. True, it is a glorified Best Western, but I wasn't in Healdsburg to lay around my room. I was there to drive through the gorgeous countryside, taste wine, stroll through the quaint towns, etc. What I needed was a clean, safe, quiet, affordable establishment where I could rest my head each night, have breakfast each morning and be assured of quality service while there - the Dry Creek Inn rose to that occasion and then some!
I really appreciate the fact that the hotel is located just off of the highway -- normally I prefer to be in the thick of the town square (or similar environs), but the point of my visit to this area was to tour the wine country. The accessible location made hopping on the highway so easy. Nevertheless, each day I stayed there, I took a great jog through downtown Healdsburg and was through the tiny town in no time. I walked to dinner each night I stayed there and felt entirely comfortable doing so - it was a very reasonable distance from the restaurants and offered well-lit streets the whole way there.
Breakfast each morning was your standard continental breakfast at a chain hotel -- hard boiled eggs, cereal, waffles, toast, juice, coffee and tea. However, given the gluttony to come each day in wine country, it's refreshing to have a light healthy meal to start each morning.
You're probably asking, "why the four stars...why not five?" True, I really enjoyed Dry Creek Inn, but I'm no stranger to luxury and let me tell you - luxurious this is not. It's convenient, clean and quiet...but if you want a more chic, indulgent experience for a special occasion, stay at the gorgeous Hotel Healdsburg!

Just ok. Price was high but it is wine country. Stayed in the "Tuscan Area" of the hotel and it was nice but not $300 a night nice. Close to downtown but not close enough. Our balcony faced this odd building that is above the hot tub. Do not request this room unless you want to face a wall. Stay in town for the full experience. Cabs to drink cost way too much money
Stayed in the Tuscan rooms and it was GREAT! The bed was nice and big, the tub/jacuzzi was perfect. Great price too and not too far away from the downtown area.

I HATE the Dry Creek Inn - They literally suck donkey balls. Let me explain myself here before you think I'm just a hater:
My babe and I decided to take a trip to Healdsburg for our annual outing. We were going to go in the beginning of August, however the Tuscan rooms (the suites with a hot tub INSIDE the room) were not completed yet. So they told us they would be done in Sept. so we decided to take our trip in October (just in case) for our 3 year anniversary. 3 FREAKIN DAYS before we were scheduled to come here, they called us to state "OH yeah the rooms still are constructed yet"........ WTF?! We booked this place in August! You tell us 3 days before we come? Why not tell us 3 WEEKS ago! When we asked what type of compensation we would receive, they stated that our NEXT trip to Healdsburg, we would get a room comped! NO! We would never come to stay here again! So my man basically screamed at the Manager until we got a regular room comped for one night and the second night at a discount.
Wait, I'm not done...... When we finally get here, I realized that I should have yelped this place. Because it is FREAKIN' loud! We picked the 3rd Floor and I can hear every word coming from our neighbors in their room! Construction is non-stop and all I heard yesterday and today is loud workers and machines blaring at full volume. When asked to change rooms, they were apparently booked up, with no rooms available.
End note: Dry Creek Inn sucks massive donkey balls.
