I recently stayed at the Best Western Creekside Inn at Bishop because of the good reviews I read. We were not disappointed. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The creek running beside it was very pretty and relaxing.

Rooms are divided into "creek view" and "mountain view" rooms. The only negative is that the "mountain view" rooms don't really have much of a view -- you have to look hard to see the mountains :-)

Stayed here a few years ago on our way to Death Valley. Bishop is a hickish little town in the eastern sierras.  It's surrounded by beautiful forests and is  great place to spend the night.  We've stayed at the Creekside Inn a couple of times, and definitely recommend it.

The room was large and comfortable, with sliding glass doors that led to a deck outside our room.  Usually I'd be scared shitless with something so flimsy protecting us from the outside, but Bishop doesn't exactly strike me as a place with a high crime rate, ya know?

Right outside our room was a good sized stream.  You can also fish it if you like, and the hotel has fish cleaning facilities on the premises.  We opted out of that part of the Creekside Inn experience, but did partake of the hotel bar (got ripped, as a matter of fact) and the heated indoor pool.

And the next day I got up and found out that I had packed my old jeans that didn't fit any longer and had to wear my sweat pants out to breakfast.  But you know what?   That sort of thing is widely accpeted in Bishop.  If I had acrylic nails and was sporting a trucker cap, I could've fit right in with the rest of the populace.

My friends and I stayed here for one night during our ski trip to Mammoth. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this place! The lobby was very nicely decorated, with a lounge area with a fireplace on one side, and on the other was a dining area for the complimentary continental breakfast. The place smelled like fresh baked cookies (which they serve everyday at 5:00pm!) and the staff members checking us into our rooms were very nice and were helpful in suggesting places for dinner that night.

After the check-in process, we headed to our room - standard 2 queen beds. Again...pleasantly surprised. There was a flat screen TV, the heater kept us toasty all night, comfy beds, spacious room, big - by motel standards - bathroom with 2 sinks, and a refrigerator. The sliding screen door opens out to the parking lot (since we were on the 1st floor), but it made it very convenient to load all our stuff into the room.

To sum it all up, I would love to stay at the Creekside Inn the next time I'm going to Mammoth! It's located in walking distance of tons of restaurants, it's outdoor spa works wonders for the muscles after a day on the slopes, and I just really had a great experience there. It's pretty, affordable, only about a 40 min. drive to Mammoth, convenient, has a good continental breakfast, and is very clean! Highly recommended!
