I grew up near Fortuna. I know the kind of quality I should have around here. I have stayed here while visiting several times. This last time, I got really upset by some major oversights by the management.
1) The sink drain was very slow (it would take 5 minutes to drain the smallest amount of water).
2) On the coldest week of the winter, the beds only had 1 blanket on them and we had to call for more (which they didn't deliver to our room even though it was hailing outside).
3) The heater was so loud we couldn't sleep, so we turned it off.... bad idea in retrospect.
4) Their pillows are square and small!!!
5) The shower-head was stuck in one position and had a partially clogged nozzle.
Overall, not good.
Nice place by rural Norcal standards. We had a non-smoking room but there are chairs with ashtrays in front of every room which should help to acclimatize anyone heading up to Oregon.
Breakfast was decent which included sausage and scrambled eggs and those little Tabasco Sauce packets that are so hard to open and biscuits and gravy that was great.
I don't have experience with the other places in the area but this might be as good as it gets.
