3 reviews for Best Western Bishop Holiday Spa Lodge
Average run-of-the-mill hotel. We ended up pulling into Bishop late on a Tuesday night (after checking out the Bristelcone Pine Forest). This Best Western hooked us up w/ cheap and clean rooms. They also have free continental breakfast, but we ended up walking a few blocks down the street to Schat's Bakery.
If you want a basic hotel to crash at before hitting the famous local fly fishing waters, this is a good choice.
After driving for hours and everyone just exhausted from our adventure it was a Godsend to have a place like this to stay at. Without any credit cards to rely on they were willing to take a cash deposit which made it more awesome. We parked right infront of where our room was nothing to fancy didn't know they had a refrigerator and microwave till the morning when we were about to leave. It satisfied the basic necessity of a tv, bed, shower, toilet, sink because the next few days we would be almost stripped completely of those things we were on our way to Yosemite :) Can't complain to much we didn't wake up in time for the continental breakfast but got a full nights rest for the rest of our journey.
A reliable relatively-cheap old-style motel on North Main, a few blocks from the Bakkerij and other Bishop mainstays. A good alternative to the more expensive (and much newer) Creekside Best Western a few blocks down Main. Most rooms have fridges, adequate space, good heating and cooling -- the basics are well taken care of, but it's nothing special, and a bit down-at-heel in places. I've been staying here for maybe fifteen years, on and off, and I keep coming back.
Unfortunately when I stayed here a week or two ago they were renovating the place, which -- besides the noise and dust, urgh! -- might mean it's going to lose its once rather charming slightly rough-hewn style and become something more generic. We shall see...
