Why did I stay here? 2 free nights
When I met up with my friends (who were also staying here) we couldn't stop talking about the heating system. All I have to say is, "What the hell???"
Two of us received directions on how to use it and one didn't. She had to call the front desk and they were very rude to her since she couldn't figure it out on her own by using the directions that she should have received while checking in.
Basically, you have to insert your room key into a lighted slot near the front door (the directions weren't clear on how to find the lighted slot either....) No one would have ever figured that out without directions. Then you have to find the thermostat and after flipping the hidden switch, you have to follow about 7 more steps to get it working. I overheard other hotel guests asking others if they could get their heater working. What a mess!
If you're stuck staying here, make sure you plan time to figure out the heating/cooling system.

Stayed here last night because my United flight was canceled so United put me up here. I liked this place because the staff was so nice. I didn't have any luggage, so when I asked for a toothbrush, they asked what else I needed. I ended up with a toothbrush, toothpaste, deordorant, shaving cream and a razor.
I also mentioned to someone on the staff that my phone was dead and I didn't have a charger. They checked out lost and found and located a charger that I could use.
The rooms are fancy, but they are clean, large enough, and comfortable. All in all a nice place that goes the extra mile.
I had gone to 2 wedding fairs and was trying to look for the best place for our wedding and twice I was approached by this place. So I decided to give it a try and meet with the coordinator. It was very simple, I checked out the grounds and conference room where the reception would be held. We decided to go with it because of the price and the ground were very nice.
I did want to get rooms at the hotel, but seen some of the suites and was not impressed. They were old and musty. It was too late for for some family members who already booked there.
The wedding day came and it was great. In our package we got a room for the girls to get ready in, the hotel set up the ceremony site as well as ballroom. All we had to do was decorate if we wanted to. Everything turned out beautiful. The people are still talking about how great the food was.
I would recommend this place for a wedding to anyone. Staff was great, food was great. If you do not want to worry about your wedding day go here and let them do all of the hard stuff for you.
The rooms were okay as reported by the quests that did say there.

Decent hotel. In fact, after our StudioPlus debacle, the bf and I really appreciated the BW in Reno. We booked this b/c of the proximity to Tahoe. It is about an hour drive to East Lake Tahoe. The price was right, the staff was helpful and our rooms were clean and quiet. We were not disturbed by airport activity, the planes were barely audible.
One thing that really freaked me out was that the bathtub/shower combo was made for short people. It was great for me, but could be a pain for taller people.
All in all, the quality was alright and I had no complaints. If you are looking for a place that is close to Tahoe, but CHEAPER, then this may be the place. Unfortunately, I didn't like Reno as much as Tahoe...

At this price range, a very nice hotel. The front desk staff, restaurant staff and lounge staff were all friendly, helpful and attentive. The rooms were clean and neat, very standard. Very conveniently located for both the airport, and easy on/off to hwy 395.
The food at the restaurant was amazingly good. Very unexpected at this type of hotel/motel.
Only one lamp worked in my room... talk about living in darkness. Luckily wi-fi was functional and free.. so my laptop provided a steady soothing glow for the evening. The towels were absolutely horrible, like sandpaper and the bathtub was actually dirty (dusty and hair). At $143/night, I wondered why they weren't charging more like $50/night. Would never stay here again. Still tramatized.
Dump.
I got the room near the elevator from hell. It literally sounds like the elevator machines are behind your headboard.
I didn't realize it until it was too late so I spent a wakeful night dealing with it. I changed rooms the following AM and that request was met with gnashing of teeth and downright rudeness.
We paid $80 per night during a recent convention.
SKIP IT!
very convenient if you need to stay near the airport.....
i recently stayed here after a wedding out of town and both me & my date had flights out the next morning....at different times and to different places.
First impressions were fine: The lobby is beautiful. Doors open out, so it's a little odd to have to carry in your luggage and stop to open two doors. They should be automatic or swing both directions. This is a 3-story hotel. The hotel was tucked hidden around the corner, rather than obviously planted in the lobby. It was also kind of slow. The room was standard for a hotel. Nothing special. Mints left on the nightstand. Major complaint was noise: Every time the elevator moved, there was a huge THUNK like a body falling dead to the floor in the next room, before the whirring. I was thankful I had my earplugs, else I'd probably have been awoken many times in the night. Was only there one night, didn't check out the pool/spa or restaurant. Good for business perhaps, but not even a continental breakfast that the cheap hotels typically give you. Not worth the price for vacationers.
