I have been to several of the Best Buy's stores and this is one of the better ones. I do enjoy when the door opens they do great you with a hello or welcoming, I know this is more for security purposes, but it is nice to know you are greeted here.

I was here with two of my younger boys and one of the sales associates was talking with one of my boys about IPad and DSi systems, and he was talking with him and not talking down to him which was nice to see, because my son was keeping up with that conversion.

The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is when I was in the Auto Installation area, there were no sales associates to answer a question I had, but then I did finally find what I was looking for. I know we are all trying to save money in different ways, but if you are short in sales associates, then you might want to hire a few more to make sure your customers are being helped, and yes I did walk out of the store without purchasing anything, and did some research on-line.

I went to this Best Buy for the first time today. I had bought a game online that was only available for in-store pickup at this branch. So I came here and got the game. It took longer than I would've liked, but ultimately I got my game so I'm not complaining.

The best part is, I ordered the game yesterday, and the game came to the store today, so that was pretty cool.

I've always gone to this Best Buy because it was the closest to me back when I lived in San Jose.  I would go here if I was too lazy to drive to Fry's or if what I was buying was the same price regardless of where I went. lol  The interior was roughly the same size as other Best Buy locations.  Every aisle looked organized and neat and I was able to find what I needed without a problem.

I did buy a car stereo from here and had it installed on my old car.  From that experience, the guy who installed it chose the wrong mount but I wasn't charged extra for it.  They did a good job hiding the iPod cables coming from the stereo and into the glove compartment.  That's all I can remember on that.

The customer service here was okay but I didn't really interact with anybody for the majority of my visits here.

This Best Buy got the job done plenty of times for me.  It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst.

A great article on why Best Buy sucks and will be going out of business from http://Forbes.com

Best Buy doesn't take responsibility for its massive mistakes and blames the customers. They don't have customer service at all.

HORRIBLE IS ALL I CAN SAY! I first had a bad experience at the gilroy best buy. After years of not buying from best buy i finally had to. I found a part online which was only available at best buy. So i called to check price and availability . I was literally on hold for over 15 minutes then an option says you can you can check with another best buy so i did and after ten minutes they hung up on me . So i called back with nothing better to do but let the phone ring and wait to see if someone would really answer and i was on hold for over  an hour . I KNEW it would be a bad expierence so i was ready i just had the phone on speaker while i made dinner entertained some family and wrote this. so in the end i still HATE best buy and i cant wait for them to go out of buisness .

I stopped by here to buy some USB memory sticks from their advertisement. I found what I needed pretty easily in the store.

The line wasn't too bad at the cash register, but I did have a problem when their computer system said the price was different then their advertisement. I had to wait extra time for them to get a manager to do a price adjustment.

It would have been much better for a smoother transaction if I they had correct pricing and then I wouldn't have had to wait for them to fix the problem.

Too Expensive to call it "best" buy. Especially to charge fifteen bucks to put on a 25 dollar screen protector for a new tablet. What a racket.

Not bad, not bad at all.

I love this Best Buy in comparison to the Santana Row location.
Parking is great, customer service is welcoming, and the store is a "just the right size", sort of place.

It's not as large as the Santana Row Best Buy, so you don't feel as though your going to get lost while shopping.
The store's lay out is super friendly; things are easy to find, and help is quick and easy to flag down.
The customer service reps. are happy to help and pretty darn genuine with respect to addressing any of your concerns.

I was here earlier today looking for a new laptop, and was pleased to find one of the guys in the store point me in the right direction, without me even having to ask.  Not only did he lead the way, he also gave me the name of the gentleman who'd be able to assist me in the department. I love it when I don't even have to ask for help!  I think people should learn social cues... don't hunt me down asking me if I need help, but then again... don't leave me waiting for assistance until I'm blue in the face.

THIS REVIEW IS STRICTLY FOR THE GEEK SQUAD CUSTOMER SERVICE:

Dropped off my laptop 2 weeks ago because the OS stopped responding. CRYSTAL from Geek Squad had taken in my laptop. I left my Kaspersky disk with them so they could install it while they have it. When I came in today to pick it up, my invoice didn't say anything about Kaspersky being installed, CRYSTAL had to go find it in the back. Then they said they're going to have to charge a labor fee for installing Kaspersky, when I told her that she said it was free since I have the Geek Squad insurance 2 weeks ago when I first dropped it off. She tried to deny that it was her who took in my laptop and I had said nothing about installing. Why would I leave my Kaspersky disk if i didn't want you to install it? "I probably said hi to you when you first came in, but didn't take in your laptop." No bitch, you filled out all the paper work when I came in and went over the questionaire on the computer with me so I'm pretty sure it was you. Stupid.

PLEASE GET A BETTER GEEK SQUAD STAFF THAT KNOWS HOW TO HANDLE WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSE TO AND DOESN'T TRY TO MAKE EXCUSES. LAME CRYSTAL.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE GEEK SQUAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. AND ALSO GOOD FOR ANYONE WHO IS BUYING THEIR 'BLACK TIE GEEK SQUAD PROTECTION PROGRAM"

I Contacted Customer Service regarding a NEW fridge that we bought that is not working. Our food is now all spoiled. I Spoke to a representative and informed him that we have small children and need to have someone come out right away to fix this issue. The representative indicated that he would mark this as an emergency and have someone call us back to get them out there today ( Monday 11/14/2011). No contact was made. My husband contacted Geek Squad again after 3 hours had elapsed and spoke to "Dusty". He inquired about the service appointment and stressed the importance of getting someone out ASAP. Dusty said the only available time would be between 8-12 Tuesday 11/15/2011. My Husband said he would need to check first with his wife and call back. Giving that my husband and I both work my husband contacted me to see if I was able to be available during that window time.
I contacted Geek Squad Customer Service. Explained the above to a girl and she proceeded to check on the next available time and said she would get back to me. As I was on hold she picked up the phone as I could hear talking in the back ground and my call was disconnected after being on hold for almost 10 mins. Now being furious I called back and was transferred to "Dusty" I explained the situation to Dusty and also explain the incidents above. Dusty went to put me on hold and failed to do so. I was not on hold. I proceeded to hear Dusty and his female co-worker mock me. "This lady I talked to before the one with the fridge, oh yeah she kept saying it's an emergency I want to speak to a manager".
Dusty came back on the phone at which I informed him that I was not on hold like he thought and I do not appreciate to be mocked nor was it appropriate by him and his co-workers to treat their customers this way. I demanded to speak to a manager. I spoke to a manager and explain the situation; she was basically unsympathetic and offered no real help to the solution. She indicated to me that she would send an email and have someone contact me first thing this morning. The only call we received this morning was from a technician in which was coming to fix our fridge. My Husband cancelled the technician from coming out.
LG sent out a Technician and ordered our part faster than Geek Squad could even get their technician out. Our Fridge will be fixed by Weds (11/16/2011) by LG the manufacturer. Geek Squad has not contacted me as promised per Agent Axxxx. She informed me that someone would contact me as soon as possible regarding my issues and complaints and possible compensation. We purchased this LG Fridge on 08/28/2011. We paid $2,532.81 TOTAL. The geek squad protection plan was 4 years for $369.99.  I do not feel secure after this occurrence that I am protected nor do I feel that Geek Squad has provided me with the best customer service. This incident is absurd and if I would have know I was going to be treated in this fashion after spending all this money, especially in these difficult economic times I would have stayed with COSTCO. I have never ever had any issues or problems in Costco. Best Buy's Geek Squad need to take some Lessons regarding customer service.

I don't understand how Best Buy manages to get such poor people at this location.

The many many times I've been here I usually have horrible customer service experience.  It used to be that if you didn't like it, you could take your money elsewhere (like circuit city). That's not the case anymore.  Now, you can take your money to Fry's and get an even worse experience.

The cashier was not polite, helpful or friendly (even though I've spent over 10k in that store this year and she knew this after looking up my account).

To make matters worse, while exchanging an item for something else, I had to deal with another set of morons who stare right at you but walk away even though you're chasing them down to help you.

I especially like this Best Buy location because of their outstanding customer service. I came here to upgrade my mother's cell phone and the customer service representative was very patient and knowledgeable. My mother had insisted on getting a touch screen smartphone, so I chose one for her. After using the phone for a few days, she realized that she was not tech savvy enough to use the phone. She claimed that the screen moved way too fast for her and that it made her dizzy. LOL. I brought the phone back and another representative was just as patient as the first one. The entire exchange went very quickly and smoothly.

Another time I came here to get some headphones and the representative who helped me was very helpful. I had an idea of what I was looking for and I liked how he sensed that. He kept just enough distance for me to not feel like I was being watched and just enough for me to be able to ask him questions.

Some items are more expensive than others at all Best Buys, but they price match, so no worries.

Just because we were passing time before we get our table at the Boiling Crab next door, a friend of mine and the kids went to Best Buy across the complex.

This one is along Curtner, like I mentioned, really close to Boiling Crab. Just like any other Best Buy, their products' locations are listed by the overhead signage. I immediately dart for the TV location and start checking out the 65-inch plasma TV and 3D HDTVs.

Soon, a Best Buy staff comes and starts accommodating our questions regarding the televisions. His name is Paul, Asian-American guy who appeared to be very knowledgeable about HDTVs and terminology. Like how plasma works and how different it is from LED. Very friendly dude. He didn't mention anything that made us feel compelled to buy the dagnammit TV just because he has literally told us the story of the manufacture. LOL.

Later on, I go through their DSLRs and note that they sell Canon 7D and 60D! That is super awesome! The Best Buy in Sunnyvale only has the Rebel XSi, last time I checked. Due to this, I almost made a decision that this is the Best Buy I will start going to more often.

Staff is very friendly, as each time I would go to another department, a staff member would be so accommodating with the questions and inquiry I have... or my friend. Their products are well-organized (although I wish I was able to test my iPod on their Bose portable docking system to trial it).

So this review isn't very in depth but I tried to cover the areas where I felt appropriate to review.

By the way, it took 4 weeks to get a remote from samsung, another 2 to get a cable, and was constantly being told our stand was on back order until August in which someone offered us a switch out t.v. for the same or next best thing. We got our newer model t.v. 2 weeks later. we also received our stand for the old t.v. the following week. HALF A YEAR LATER! I still can't stand driving past this best buy..... but have successfully ruined their reputation with several friends and family! :)

Meet my new favorite Best Buy.  Customer Service here was better than at other locations that I have visited and the people actually know what is in stock and where to find it.  The best part about this location is that it is close to the freeway with fairly easy access and it is located in a park of The Plant where there is ample parking!  Win Win Win!

This Best Buy location is well stocked with your general selection of electronics but one thing that has me going there less is their small selection of music CD's. The place has condensed their music section since I have been there, which is not too much of a problem unless I could only buy from these types of stores. That is just my take on their selections. Service is helpful each and every time. Keep up on the ads for great reasons to swing by.

One would be hard-pressed to find a more unenthusiastic bunch of employees than these guys.

I came here in search of a new set of computer speakers and was hoping that they would have test units available. Well, they did, but only about four or five different systems, half of which weren't even working. In addition, the selection was incredibly limited, as were the selections in headsets, peripherals, and other computer components. Then again, it is Best Buy.

What irked me the most was how flat-out boring these employees were. Okay, I understand that I am relatively young compared to the middle-aged men who typically frequent electronics stores to fulfill their midlife-crisis needs by buying the largest television that they see, but I still expect SOME emotion when being greeted and addressed by employees. Instead, all I got were dull, monotonous, extremely quiet and listless "hello, welcome to Best Buy..."s or "Can I help you with something...". I swear, everyone here sounded like either a zombie or a stoner. These guys make the guys over at Fry's Electronics seem like the cast of Glee.

Maybe the employees I ran into that day were not the best and the brightest that they have on their staff, or at least I hope so, for their sake. That + the typical high prices of BB (why go to BB when you can go to Newegg or Amazon?) = I won't be going here unless I absolutely have to for some reason.

Best Buy is the place to go! This is the only one in my area. I'm very pleased with their customer service. I've bought all my IPhone 4 cases here along with some screen protectors. They helped me pick out some great cases. ("Otterbox  defender series" I recommend you get that for your iPhone 4 because it gives maximum protection).

I had the OtterBox case for about 10 days and I wanted to return it for a different color because i didn't really like the one I had. So I went in and talked to customer service... No questions asked they just told me to go pick out the one I wanted and BAM! quick and easy exchange.

5 stars for the great customer service and wide range of iPhone accessories.

    +1 for being Best Buy

I've been to multiple best buys and by far this one is my least favorite. It wasn't the aesthetics or cleanliness of the store -- although it did feel like i entered an electronics garage sale. I give that benefit of the doubt just because it was Christmas Eve.

Anyway, it wasn't busy but it seemed as if all hands were on deck. Problem is they were on deck but I don't think they were really there. I understand that Best Buy proudly advertises that they don't get paid on commission and i really like that, but at least put a little effort into your work. I accompanied my friend who was purchasing a camcorder. After studying the camcorders ourselves, we finally made a decision. Yes, we made a decision without the help of the sales associates standing around.

We then proceeded to contact a sales person so that he could grab us the camera. After he did, he brought us over to the register and rang the item up. Where are the add-ons? Suggestions? Bags? Service plan offer? Alright i understand that some people don't want to be asked those things, but sheesh at  least ask about one? We ended up asking him to add on the service plan for us since we were familiar with the protection.

On the way out the LP guy checked the receipt and gave it back to us without a single word leaving his mouth. JEEEEEZ merry christmas buddy!

I was in retail and i enjoyed engaging with my customers -- makes them want to come back and makes me feel so much more productive. Coasting sales associates don't deserve my money going into their paychecks.

Sorry to be so mean -- at least i know i won't be returning to this location.

    I love Best Buy!

I was so happy they opened this place, I was tired of driving all the way to the one off Almaden. Plus, this one is so much nicer to get to and park at. I spend so much time here and have bought so much stuff here, they should pay me an hourly wage. Whats not to like about being able to find all your electronic needs in one place that has exceptional customer service. They ask if you need help and if you don't they gladly go about their business and if you do they tag along with you till you tell them your done with them or they walk you to the register with your goods.

All in all I recommend this place to anybody and everybody who is looking for an electronic something.

If you're buying something off the shelf that you can pick up and check out, go right ahead.  This experience is about as unremarkable as for any standard retailer.

If you're buying something bigger that needs delivery and/or installation, hide the women and children.

If something goes wrong, the manager will try to screw you out of the deal you got and tell you that the best he can do is send you home with some lovely parting gifts.

But don't worry -- if this happens, just send the Best Buy president a quick email and someone from corporate will take care of you.

Yeah, that's right -- someone 2000 miles away actually does the thinking for the manager at this store.  Because if brains were water, he'd be severely dehydrated.  Or dessicated.  Or mummified.

I went into the store yesterday to do some browsing.  I wanted to replace my personal laptop that's been broken for months.  The only thing that kept me from getting one was my undecisiveness.  I wasn't sure what laptop brand I wanted and if I wanted a laptop or PC.

The sale associate, Jessica M. was awesome!  She wasn't pushy about trying to sell me a computer.  She answered all my questions about the laptops and PCs.  Not once did she even look like she was annoyed wtih me, because I definitely took a lot of time deciding on which computer to get.  She also rang up the total price of the computer that I wanted to get at my request.  Being in finance, numbers speak for themselves so I wanted that visual total.  She stuck with me all the way through to the end of the purchase and handing off to the Geek Squad.  I felt really comfortable with my purchase when she helped me. This is not the first time that I've wandered into this same Best Buy just to browse.  I've gone several times and been helped by other sales associates, but to me if they aren't answering my questions and I don't feel comfortable buying a particular computer, I'll walk out empty handed.

So, moving on to the Geek Squad part of my purchase.  I had them install everything on my new toy.  The guy that I spoke to said that it usually takes about 3 hours to install and burn copies of CD's for me.  It was past 6:30pm, so that probably meant that I would have to pick up my computer the next morning.  They actually finished everything and called me on my cell to let me know that I could pick it up.  Of course, I went and got it.

I had an issue with my computer this afternoon after I set it up.  If you buy a PC/laptop from Best Buy, definitely purchase the Geek Squad support.  It was so easy to click on an icon and instantly have an online chat with a Geek Squad agent.  They fixed the issue remotely, so I didn't have to lug this computer back to Best Buy and it was done within hours.

About 2 years after purchasing my 13" macbook (which I LOVE, but is too small for working with multiple windows and softwares open), I realized I needed more "screen real estate" to work on. After coming to the conclusion that the 27" iMac was wayyyyy too much screen for me, I decided that the 21.5" was perfect for my needs.

I believe the Apple expert I talked to was named Catherine (she has really awesome colorful highlights in her hair). This Best Buy really knows how to choose their Apple experts because she was super knowledgeable, just like the previous Apple guy who helped me with my macbook purchase 2 years prior. She was able to answer all the questions I had, as well as suggest things that were very beneficial to me. I would highly recommend buying your Apple products here, if you want to avoid the overly-crowded Apple stores.

On another note, at this location, you may come across 1..2...3...or 5 employees asking you if you need help with anything. To some it may come off as annoying, but to me that shows great customer service.

I don't know why I ever bother with places like Best Buy. They do have a great selection and the staff is certainly more likely to be helpful than at Fry's, but sometimes you just get the wrong product and taking something back here can be a nightmare.

15% restocking fee gets kind of steep if the product costs $1000. Sometimes you just can't get an adequate trial of high-end electronics products in the store and when you get home it's just not right. SHould I have to pay $150 for that?

Not that I condone the big box Costco, but their return policy makes it hard to shop at a place like Best Buy.

2 stars for selection, no stars for anything else...

My BF and I went into Best Buy with a sole mission. BUY A NIKON D5000.  We went straight to the camera department and started reading up on all the packages they were offering.

There was an employee there, standing right there, maybe 7-10 feet away from us. Watching us. Not once did he come over and offer his assistance. Not once did he ask us if we needed help looking for anything. NOTHING. I understand that a bunch of 20 something year olds walking in looking at fancy cameras doesn't always equal a sale. But hey, you're there to help us, not gawk at us.

Eventually someone did come by, mostly because my BF pulled too hard on a cord and an alarm went off. It wasn't the same person who was just watching us. He turned off the alarm, and asked if we needed help. So my BF bluntly said, "We're here to buy a Nikon D5000". That definitely lit up his eyes and he held our hands the entire way. Told us about his packages, what was good, what would help us. This specific location was out of the camera itself, so he did a search of close by locations and made sure we had a camera on order to be picked up.

I really cannot stand when people assume, because of our young ages, that we aren't worth the time. I would've given them 1 star, but since the 2nd guy DID eventually help us (although only because we set off an alarm, both at the store, and in his head about the D5000), I'll allow 2 stars.

With this Best Buy, it's hit or miss.
One day you'll have excellent service, and the next you'll be lucky to find anyone who will want to help. Then again, it really all depends on who's working that day..

I've been to this location a good amount of times where I'll get people helping left and right, and there are other times where I just see workers sitting around, and waiting for you to ask them for help. As I said, it really all depends on who's working.

This Best Buy is a good size, they have a big Magnolia Home Theatre area, and a big appliances section. Most workers are pretty knowledgeable when I ask questions about things. And, they usually have things in stock. This is probably because they're never really super busy. Which is actually a plus.

All in all, a pretty okay best buy, with okay service. I really love the convenient location, spacious parking, and lack of foot traffic.

I like this Best Buy. They have excellent service. More on that later.

I came here with my mom to help her purchase a new flat screen TV for my dad. I knew some of the basics when looking for a new high definition TV, but more than one sales guy on staff was able to help me.

None of them tried to pressure me into talking my mom into buying anything more than she needed. They were honest and asked the right questions when it came to the needs of my dad (and my mom.

We ended up leaving with a 52-inch flat screen television with 1080p and 120hz type resolution. I don't imagine my dad will be watching Blu-Ray movies or playing PS3, unless I bring that stuff over. So a TV of that size and caliber is more than enough to watch soccer games.

I'd come back here again if were in the market to make a large purchase. And since I can see myself buying a new flat screen TV soon for myself, I will be sure to stop by here to see what they have in stock.

    R.I.P. my dear Canon SD750.

You've seen many places from the Bahamas to New York to Rome...as well as some things you probably shouldn't see with your virgin lenses. You've captured many moments of drunken debauchery that would otherwise be forgotten. I bid you farewell but as they say, life must go on.

Scene of the crime: WET nightclub in San Jose
    Culprit: vodka/pineapple

As I waited for a couple of days for my vodka soaked camera to perhaps dry out in the sun, I came to terms with the fact that I would soon be in the market for a new one. Stopped by Best Buy (I love that this one opened up in the shopping center so close to me) to peruse the options. I knew Canon was the way to go but the sexy, slim Casio S10 caught my eye http://exilim.casio.co...

I had never bought a Casio camera before so was weary of how well the pictures would turn out. Luckily the sales guy working the electronics department was super helpful with the questions I had. He seemed very knowledgeable about pixelation, shutter speed, ISO, and all that jargon. I mostly use it for just point and shoot needs but I was curious to see how they would look uploaded to a computer versus just seeing them on the camera lcd screen. So he helped me snap a couple pics and uploaded them to a mac display nearby. And then I proceed to ask..sooooo, how well does it take night pictures? (because well, a girl's gotta take pics at the parrrrties!) So he kindly offered to go outside and take some pictures in the parking lot to upload those to the computer. A+ for his extra service and help..thanks Carlos!

And so Casio...who I will so affectionately call Cassie..we begin a new adventure where you will see more than you would ever imagine. But please, don't shield your eyes...because I need you to capture all the moments that I won't remember the following morning!

I came into Best Buy yesterday evening because I needed to replace my cellphone and wanted to find out what my options were.

The sales rep I encountered was not the least bit helpful, gave me incorrect information, and was actually quite condescending when I asked clarification about Best Buy terminology. He quoted me inflated prices and when I showed him their advertised prices off of their website, he was quite aloof.

The experience was extremely frustrating, especially when you added it on top of the stress of losing my phone.

Needless to say, I'm headed directly to an AT&T store in hopes of some true customer service.

    Whoa!

What's going on across the street from Oak Hill Cemetery? There's this gigantic strip mall that just randomly appeared out of nowhere.

So it's Friday, the end of a hectic week. I get home at 7:45 and think to myself...we need a tv in the bedroom and a DVR and a little DVD player. I'm wound up, annoyed from traffic so there is no way I'd go anywhere near the BB on Stevens Creek.

Here we are at this new BB and it's super chill, shopping is easy and the service is great.  It takes like 30 minutes to decide on a TV but as for the other stuff...that's another story.  This week has been too long to spend an entire Friday night in an electronics store.

After eating at Applebee's, Kelli and i decided to head over to Best Buy to get either a new camera or repair the one that was broken.

So unfortunately Kelli did not purchase the protection plan for her camera, so we had to look for a new one.

While browsing through the camera section, we saw the iPhone display. Since Kelli has been wanting one for a long time, we decided to go and check it out.

We were approached by Lyndel and he was very helpful. He found a refurbed one so that Kelli can save money and we even got a great protection plan for it. While the process was long, he was patient and took the time to help us find accessories for the phone and a new camera.

Very professional and very attentive service. I will be going there again with another friend so that Lyndel can have her get a new phone.

Went to this Best Buy on my trek to find a keyboard with a working F key so I could write my Yelps!  They had a decent selection of keyboards, nothing really on sale, which kind of surprised me, but I guess keyboards don't really make great Christmas or Hanukkah gifts, so they don't really hit the sale items.

Wandering around the store for a while, I found the keyboards.  Only about half were on display, which is annoying since it is really difficult to decide on a keyboard without trying it.  Finding two I liked, I grabbed one to try it and I guess we'll just see how that goes.

At least I can Yelp again!

From my family cellphones to my home entertainment ... Alexia mobile manager always ready to help with whatever I don't understand with my new HTC phone. To Dennis Lawson to expert and sincere tv options... Chris was also awesome helping me deciding on what MAC book I should buy... make sure you stop by and shop them before going anywhere else!

I rather drive to Santana Row to get better service. The sales associate here are no help... they are there for the bucks, not for the service.

No one helps you with finding a product or assisting you to find the right area for a product.  I can't believe they would hire those people there especially at a such established corporation.

1 star for having a good location.
1 star for having a big parking lot for all the scary parkers.

I'm loving the new location, it beats Santana Row's with the traffic and all!

I went to this Best Buy during Christmas weekend and totally thought it was going to be packed, but it wasn't!  I got to take my time looking for some last minute Christmas presents without feeling too smothered by people.

The organization of the store isn't too bad, everything is pretty much right there.
