San Jose, CA
I came to Best Buy for a pickup at the in store pickup line. I ordered my items on their website and Best Buy e-mails me a confirmation to pickup in the store. This saves me some money or shipping and I can usually get my items the same day I order online.
I was able to park in their private lot easily and make my way into their store. I recommend parking in the print lot and the store pickup area is close to the entrance.
The store pickup line was fast and efficient during this pickup. -

Yikes people hate this place!
I honestly haven't had a bad experience. All my experiences have been decent to good.
I do my research on the Best Buy website and Amazon to compare reviews and prices of course but in any case I already know what I want in the store.
I've bought:
- Kindle 4 Touch with cover- same price as Amazon but you get to play with it right away!
- Some DVDs but usually I get these at Target now
- Canon digital cameras- my point and shoot and DSLR
One particular better experience I had here was when I bought a Canon point and shoot because I thought I lost my camera. Used the camera for 5 days and someone found my camera! Went back into the store with my receipt and camera in the box and got my full refund!! I was surprised they didn't charge me a restocking fee but then again everything was in there and it was only 5 days.
Plus there is always close parking as this place is never busy. Score! -

My favorite Best buy is the one at Santana Row but I come here to check out deals and see what is what. Today was a tough day all around. The news that best buy was just refunding money wasn't sitting well with anyone including the staff who have no say in what the corporate decision.
It was just bad day and I am trying not to hold that against them but I want the Sony 32 G tablet and zero customer service.
I get it really I do its 3PM you are hungry you were suppose to take lunch at 1PM but the 1PM didn't show up but talking about it over and over while there is CLEARLY a customer standing at the tablets ( Moi ) looking for help is why you are not getting the coveted extra stars. -

Lies and scams!
I bought a LCD monitor at this Best Buy in April. I purchased the extended warranty after being told by an employee that it covered bad / stuck pixels for the duration of the warranty.
A pixel went bad yesterday. I spent 15 minutes on hold today trying to ask what would be done when I came into the store, and got hung up on. I went into the store with my monitor.
I was told that there needs to be 4 bad pixels in one square inch or 10 on the whole display to have it replaced / repaired. The person who sold it to me didn't share this fact with me!
I told the manager that the salesperson had told me that bad pixels were covered. He told me that their "employees are highly educated in this issue and always tell people that bad pixels aren't covered unless there are more than 4..."
After the words "employees are highly educated" I took out my handgun and proceeded to blow my brains out on the spot. Not really, but this was my reaction when the manager told me that Best Buy employees are highly educated in ANY field.
Long story short, their employees don't know how their return policies work. The managers don't care if an employee told you something. Don't shop at Best Buy, do your electronics shopping online or at Frys / Costco. Below is another problem that I had with this store years ago.
Years ago Best Buy offered me a "free magazine subscription" when I bought something. It ended up charging me on my credit card. This was a commonplace occurrence, and now they have to tell you when a recurring billing cycle will kick in after the free portion ends. Either way, this was a scam. -

GO TO THE ONE ON SANTANA ROW!
I went here with my SO to get a new computer. The guy walks up to us and was like, "So are you going to buy it or what?" Played it off as a joke, but was obviously serious.
I'm not sure if they are commission, but he said he wasn't. (Not sure if that's a lie too)
Told me my new computer came with trial runs of microsoft word and others- did not.
Told me that after signing up for a credit card I would get a $20 coupon- I did not.
Spelled my name wrong on the credit card information and when I corrected him said that I WAS THE ONE that needed to change it after going online and registering it.
Wanted to use the $20 on a game I got for my new computer, he said I had to come back to customer service and do it myself.
THEN I WENT TO THE ONE ON SANTANA ROW:
*Cue heavenly music*
I asked the lady there how I can fix all of this stuff. She completely helped me.
I ask if I got duped at the almaden store, she said, "yes, it seems so."
I think the employees were too lazy to do their job costing me money and happiness.
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR AN EASY TRIP AND EASY BUY, GO TO A DIFFERENT BEST BUY!!!! -

I ordered online, and one item was backordered, so I chose to do an in-store pickup.
When I got here, I had 2 employees ask my order number then wander around, gaze at the computer and wander some more. Finally I was told that they didn't have that item so I should call and cancel it.
At least I was credited the money by a helpful employee over the phone, even though the call took 22 minutes -
Review from Alea G.
This review is primarily for the customer service at the store, specifically the Geek Squad at the Almaden store.
Because this review is way TL;DR for most people here are the highlights:
- being talked down to by the Geek Squad employees
- being told that moving my laptop sometimes will break the hard drive
- getting two different diagnoses about my hard drive in a period of two days
- generally rude service by the store and Geek Squad manager (including when the manager asked if he needed to explain things in a different language)
- getting kicked out of the store when we go to civilly talk to them about it.
I bought my computer in April and when we did we purchased both the hardware and software support plans offered by the store. A few weeks ago, I got a virus on my computer and while I tried to fix it, it was something that short of reformatting the computer, I would not have been able to do on my own. Thus, I took it into Geek Squad this past Friday. When I went in on Friday, they looked up my account and told me that the plans that we purchased when we got the laptop only dealt with hardware. I bought it at the time and had them at least run the diagnostics to make sure that I truly did have a virus.
I picked that laptop up on Sunday and was told that my hard drive was fine, but that I did have a virus. Instead of paying the $200 they quoted for removal, I decided to take it home to find someone else who could fix it. Later that night, after discussing the issue with my dad, he said that we did buy the tech support plan, specifically knowing that they had virus removal services. We called the store and, lo and behold we did have the virus plan.
Okay, so we took it in on Monday and in that time, I turned on my computer only once for some Word formatting. They weren't exactly polite when we brought the laptop in, acting like it was our fault that they looked at the account on the computer and told me I did not have tech support. Nevertheless, we dropped it off for virus removal.
Tuesday they called me up and said that my hard drive was broken and that they needed to replace it. They told me that they did not have a 750 GB hard drive for my computer and that they could replace it with a 320 GB hard drive. Really? Because that's reasonable. The other option would be to buy a new one.
So I go in to talk to them about it. I ask them why after they tell me on Sunday that my hard drive is fine that it's suddenly broken a day and a half later. I'm told that while we customers won't understand it, sometimes laptops break when you move it. Really? I might not be that computer savvy, but I'm not a moron. I had to leave at that point for a bit because I was so absolutely upset about being treated like that that I couldn't even talk.
I went back to speak to them again, and for a while the person who I was speaking with (the same guy I spoke to on Friday mind you) told me that I only had the software support plan. ... When I contradicted him, he told me that they could send it to the main HQ but it would take 3-4 weeks at best to get my computer back. I told them to wait and came back again with my dad who being someone who works in the computer industry, would be far more knowledgeable.
Because 3-4 weeks is kind of ridiculous considering the situation, we wanted to see what other options there were. We went in to talk to them about it. The store manager was generally rude. What I did get was that the hard drive problem was probably due to some persisting problem that they had just noticed. Okay, even assuming that this problem has existed for a while (which was clearly not the story I got on Tuesday), why wouldn't they have caught that the first time around? Granted, I missed most of what my dad and the Geek Squad manger were saying at the time because I had to get the receipt for the service plan. By the time I got back, we were waiting for the store manager.
We explained everything about what had happened. At least with the lies or with their discrepant diagnoses, you'd expect some sort of "sorry this is what you're dealing with" response. No, instead he said that we could send it in and wait a month for my laptop or call corporate. My dad said that it was too long, he asked what other language we had to explain it to us in. After a few words were exchanged, he essentially kicked out of the store saying that he was going to call the cops.
He claimed that he felt threatened by us. Okay, first of all, my dad was being civil. Yeah, he was clearly upset as anyone would, but he was civil. He never raised his voice. He never used inappropriate language. Also, no offense to my dad, but he's old, out of shape, and a lot shorter than the store manager.
In general, I say go to a different Best Buy. This is not the first time I've had poor service from the Geek Squad there or various employees of that store. -

Got my iPhone 4S from Sprint three days after I cancelled my pre-order from BestBuy. I should have just went to the Sprint store in the first place.
If I was a douche, I'd go to Best Buy and make them transfer my contacts from my Blackberry to iPhone4S. After the ruckus, they definitley remember me. However, that's not my style.
I don't need to waste my time and money with this store.2 Previous Reviews: Show all »

The GeekSquad at this Best Buy had my camera for 3 weeks and when I called to check up on it, they couldn't find it. They eventually found it and I went and picked it up. They said they had replaced the lens and a mechanism that makes the lens work. When I got home and charged the battery and tested it, the lens still did not work.
Very unhappy with their service. -

I used to be a huge supporter of Best Buy stores throughout the country, but my last experience at this specific location off Almaden Expressway completely changed my whole perspective.
My wife and I just bought a house so we need to make a LARGE purchase of all new appliances and televisions. Not only did it take 2 and a half hours to place an order in the store till 9:00pm at night, but their "system" wouldn't let them finalize our order, so they told us they had our items saved, price matched and all (so we were getting a good deal), and a supervisor would contact us at noon the next day to finalize everything and schedule installation.
The next day comes, no call from Best Buy.
So we call them the next day on our way down to Carmel for our friends wedding to finalize everything over the phone. This process takes 2 hours over the phone on a Friday night when we were going away for the weekend! Their "system" still couldn't process our order for the first hour and a half, then finally everything gets sorted out as things were being double ordered such. We then find out we would be without appliances until Tuesday of the following week (fine).
Tuesday comes, they call calls us and ask to reschedule because they needed two people to help unload and install the refrigerator. So they said Thursday is the day.
Thursday comes along, they give us a window of 9-noon as to when we need to be there for them. They show up at 4:00pm (whole day of work gone). They install everything, all looks good, they leave, My wife opens the microwave to heat something up and she finds out that the door is bent and doesn't work properly.
So I uninstall the microwave, take it back to Best Buy on Almaden to have them change me out for a new one and try to get reimbursed for the $60 we paid to install the microwave. I get a boxed up microwave, but they cant' do anything for me regarding the $60 (not even store credit or anything. I mean it makes sense right? I only spend countless hours dealing with them trying to order appliances, spend over $8,000 at their store, waste a day of work waiting for them to install, find out a product that was installed was in fact broken so then I had to uninstall, take it back, then install again but I should at least get some sort of store credit or anything right?
Terrible experience and I store I used to once love. I would have gladly paid more at Sears to not endure all that -

Honestly 1 star is giving them too much credit! The worst customer service everrrr! Just absolutely horrible!!! Every single time my boyfriend and I have gone there every employee has noooooo idea what your talking about apparently. We've gone in there multiple times for different things and not one employee can ever help us with information on things, how things work, what we need, etc. They might as well have infants working because the employees have NO idea how to help you. They reallyyyy need to re-train all of their employees for whichever unit their working because everyones a f^@$ing moron there..... totally useless people there. Please fix because this has been a recurring problem there for over 2 years.

Review from Alena B.
This is my least favorite Best Buy and unfortunately it is the closest one to my house by far! The customer service has been so-so, but the parking is TERRIBLE. I cannot even imagine how this place will fare with the addition of WalMart behind it. It's impossible to get out of this parking lot and you are forced to turn right only and even then only on a green light. The result is that on weekends and holidays a cop has to stand out front and navigate traffic. For a while you could only enter from one door and every time I go there is always a new path designated as the only path you are able to take through the parking lot.
Beyond that we went here on a spree for washer/dryer shopping to compare models. The guy who helped us out meant well but knew nothing. we asked him what was the difference between two models and he went over and pulled the tags for both to compare and then just shrugged and said "i guess the color" when clearly they were different models/colors/manufacturers. I mean he obviously couldn't tell us which brand would work better or last longer. -

I've been to this BB probably over 30 times. It's always been clean and well organized. Recently I was having trouble with an online return and the manager took care of it. The staff has always been helpful. So, no complaints, a good place to shop.
Obviously, (by the look of the ratings), i am in the minority. -

Since I live close by, I always frequent here. I rarely buy anything here but somehow always end up looking there regardless. The management needs to go back and take some more classes. They are condescending and do not know the first thing about customer service. I have had numerous issues with management.
I will say, however, the normal staff is very nice and courteous. I have never had an issue with anyone but management. -

I always WANT to give someone in customer services the benefit of the doubt... But today was RIDICULOUS... my boyfriend is shopping for a new computer, so one would think when you are in the computer department, you would be helped immediately, as computers are a HUGE sale (especially since any sale is a big sale in this economy...) we waited at LEAST 5 minutes before anyone really looked at u (even though 3 people walked by in that time period....all trying to look busy... sorry guy with a scanner, your as good at customer service as you are at acting busy).... I think 30 minutes later we got the answers we needed about said laptop.... but we had to do pretty much anything short of knocking over displays to get someone's attention in the store. Sad, Best buy.... Read the book "hug your customers," It might make your job and life less miserable.
I will not go back if I can help it. -
Review from Crysal V.
First off, the parking sucks. You aren't allowed to take your first left, there are cones, yet the sliding doors that open right there work. Whatever it's weird. The layout is easy to find stuff which I can appreciate because if I need something specific I don't have to go through the whole store. The associates are nice and helpful. I suggest if you want to get an iPhone, to go with their service and also get the back up plan. Meaning that if your phone breaks, cracks, water damage, which is a bitch to deal with I would know, get their plan because if you have any of these and more problems, they give you a new phone! You pay for the service of course but if you tend to be clumsy, like I am, or too rough with your electronics, it's a dream come true. The geek squad is a classy touch.

I buy some Blue Ray disks here on occasion. This location is a little ridiculous when it comes to their set up. They have two entrances and the cash registers are in the middle of the two. They only use one side of the registers so if you park at one end, you will of course have a register on the opposite side. It is the worst set up for a store I have ever seen.

I hate electronic stores because I used to work in one and I know most of the people don't know what they are talking about. but when it comes down to trying to find things or questions, they most of the time know the answer and if they don't they find out. I have bought a Dynex 20in TV there years ago for 170 bucks with a built in DVD. Recently I bought a Dynex 40 inch, both great TV's well priced and issue-less. The last big purchase I bought a open box i-Mac for 899.00 Brand new and just missing the i-Life package which I didn't car about. This computer is fantastic, Im actually using it right now! The staff has always been pretty good there!

I like it when people give me time to look first. I was investigating their TVs and kinda already knew what I wanted. When I was ready to get questions answered Jason was very good about getting my answers and researching the things he wasn't quite sure about. He even walked me over to the computer area to help me with computer questions. I'll shop there again! and even ask for Jason to help me!

Whenever I find myself in a battle with what product I want. with a side by side comparison, their opinions ARE VERY HELPFUL.

Best Buy really should not be their name because its NOT BEST! I went in last night to exchange my BlackBerry which was malfuncting( not Best Buys fault) but what they were at fault was the fact that I went in at 7 and left at 8:45pm! To exchange a phone!
Heres the deal
Walked up to the cell phone area, both reps were both busy with customers which looked like in itself was going to take a while. I walked away to browse the store then come back 10 min later and they were still with the same customers. Finally oine girl asks what I needed help with and I told her and exchange for a blackberry. She leaves the other customers whom I assumed were all done to help me. We finally get my phone come back and she offers to transport all my contacts and apps from my old phone to my new one. Ok, I thought i've done this before it doesnt take long right? WRONG! she said it would take about 15 min and I was like geeze thats a while. So I leave come back and it still wasnt done. She said the BlackBerry software can take a while sometimes. After it was done she couldn't find my contacts on my phone anywhere!
We spent another 30 min getting help from another rep to find the contacts. I told the guy if this last try doesnt work give me my phone I have to go home now. The last try didn't work and I was left with all my numbers lost! Have to get them all back now.

The only AWESOME service I got was at the entrance! How sad is that?
The only reason why this place deserves 3 stars is the 2 SA's who actually greeted me, the parking, the exit is right off of 85, and this location tends to have more stock than other Best Buys. -

It's your typical Best Buy. You come here for a DVD and you might end up leaving with a new flat screen TV, sound system, and Blu-Ray player.
The staff is pretty friendly. Returns can be hell here after the holidays depending on who is working the customer service area. -

Ran some errands today, and stopped by here to check out cameras. I like how they have all of the models out to try. Received assistance quickly and the sales folks were very knowledgeable. After asking some questions about what we were looking for in a camera, they talked about the cameras they had there, but even talked about lenses that Best Buy didn't even carry. As we left, they said they didn't work on commission, and feel free to come back and ask for anyone's help. Four stars for good customer service!
Also bought our HDTVs from here awhile back, and utilized their wall mounting services - all very professional, knowledgeable and smooth.
I don't think Best Buy usually has the best prices, but they do have good service, and that still counts for something! -

I get frustrated just thinking about this place. The only time I really come here is on black friday when they have really good deals. This year when I went, we waited in line to pick up the vouchers for some laptops. After the hectic wait, I went up to pay for the items. Not only did they gave me the wrong item, they charged me for the wrong amount on multiple items. After being sent to the returns department, I had to wait an hr and argue to get correct item and MY OWN money back.
Oh yeah and dont believe those corny Best Buy commericials, the employees are not as knowledgeable or helpful as they put them out to be.. -

I went to 3 different Best Buys one weekend... I guess I was really bored...
This one was the most impressive to me. As I mentioned in an earlier review of a different Best Buy, these guys know there stuff way more than any sales clerk at Fry's.
Not knowing much about audio equipment, before going shopping for an AV receiver and some speakers, I did a little research online, and had an idea of what I was looking for.
I went into the audio department, put on my "May I help you?" face, and in about a minute, a sales clerk comes up and says "May I help you?" I asked him about different things about the different receivers, and it was interesting how he first started the pitch by using very basic words, until he realized that I knew some of the technical jargon and acronyms, and stepped it up to a level that I could understand without feeling like he was talking to me as a clueless newbie.
The thing that impressed me is that he basically told me everything I had read on audiophile forums on the Internet, which showed me that he knew a lot more than a general knowledge of the different brands and components. He also passed me onto the Magnolia people later on because I needed some components that were a bit more high-end.
The Magnolia people were also very helpful, and I was impressed that they weren't trying to sell me the highest priced item, but based on my requirements, were trying to sell me the best fit. The guy could have shown me a $750 sub-woofer, and told me how wonderful it was compared to the $399 sub-woofer, but instead, he told me that the $750 sub would have been way overkill for the type of room I had. I am pretty sure that the Fry's salesmen would have told me differently.
Maybe 5 stars is a bit much for a national chain, but I was really impressed with the sales staff here. Or maybe I am just so jaded that I expect every electronics store should have blood-sucking salesmen like Fry's. But I was definitely impressed with the service at this store, and I am going to stick with a 5-star rating. -

The staff here sucks. The only department that I need to give credit to is the car stereo installation department. They are a great bunch and amazing when it comes to customer service.
Management can be rude and if you need to call Best Buy to speak to a manager before you know it, the girl who might have answered the customer service line, is talking shit about you before you hang up.
When you complain to management about it, they might not do much about it.
I hate this Best Buy...its a disgrace that the service is like that, they should just turn it into a Fry's.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I consistently come back to this Best Buy because of the service in the mobile electronic installation department (car alarms and radio stuff). We recently had a problem with the iPod cord and because we purchased it and had it installed at Best Buy, we had it replaced with no service installation charge. They were also nice enough to check the car alarm to make sure the other problem we were having wasn't in the system itself. The technician recommended just changing the remote battery since the system checked out fine. Problem solved. People in the other departments are always pretty helpful as well.
Can't say the same for the Santana Row Best Buy mobile electronic department...There, they won't even pick up the phone to answer a question. -

Electronic wizard's dream store. I love this place and buy all my electronic needs there. Store is very clean and well laid out. Nice large signs to guide you.
The staff actually knows about the product (shocking, eh?). The associate in the computer section is especially adept in translating what you need to a particular brand of computer. I purchased a HP system with 1GB RAM, 160 GB hard drive, fast Pentium processor, and all types of ports to attach just about anything. Price was $620 which was about 4x less than I paid for a similar system with less capability 3 years ago.
Great DVD and CD selection. Plus, the TV section is one to drool over. All the new models are on display for viewing. Tons of phones and phone products also, along with speakers, sound systems, etc.
Also, a great feature is that they have "The Geek Squad" franchise right in the store. These guys and gals use sophisticated diagnostic hardware and software to analyze and repair your PC. They are honest to let you know when it would be less expensive to buy a new PC than try to repair your old one. Crashed disk recovery runs into the $500+ range. So, are you all remembering to back up ALL your files at least once a week, and have a PC Recovery Disk made of your OS? If not, you are banking on future trouble for sure.
BB has a nice reward program and I have used it to get some free merchandise.
For your electronic needs, Best Buy is the place to go! -
Review from Kenny P.
Frankly, I used to come in here all the time just to browse or even buy something. DVD, cables, ink, electronics, etc... To be honest though, their prices on most everyday items aren't really all that great. Their business name is almost an oxymoron that suggests you are getting the best prices in their store, when you really aren't.
Unfortunately, the proliferation of online vendors and the lesser need for a retail electronics store has really dropped in the past few years. So this place is one of the rare chains that is still around. It's main competitors: Circuit city, Good guys, and Compusa stores have closed in these past few years... so I'm curious to see what will happen to Best Buy in the future.
To be completely honest, you can easily deal with a lot of BS from the return/service department here. I had once taken an LCD screen that had problems back here so they could send it back to the manufacturer to be repaired. The people working here didn't do crap about it and left it on the repair shelf for almost a month. Terrible terrible customer service, they didn't even offer me a store credit or exchange. I was pretty disgruntled about this mishap and AM being NICE by giving them 2 stars.
I honestly haven't been back to this store in almost 2 years to purchase anything. If I need something, I will go elsewhere! There are MANY better places to shop and buy than here.Listed in: Spots around the "Den"

This is a really crappy Best Buy.
Dont come in here unless you know exactly what you want to buy, at what price before you walk through the doors.
This place is way overpriced when it comes to most things computer and electronics, especially when CompUSA is about 5 min away.
The staff doesnt really know what theyre doing at all, and have lot to learn about customer service. The guys wandering the floor, are only good for pointing you to a section but otherwise know jack about their products.
I ordered an item for pick-up from online. when i got there, they made me fill out forms for 20 minutes while they tried to figure out how to complete the transaction. It took about 4 employees (regular associate through the floor manager) in total about 30 minutes for something i could have picked up off the shelf in about 2. Going through all this every employee I was passed over to was inattentive and rude.
I live 5 min away, and would rather go anywhere else. Save your time, money, and self-respect. find another place. -

When this place first opened my friend went in to get a car stereo installed. The sleezeball car audio manager sold her over $1,200 in UNNECESSARY SHIT! Long story short - she wanted a satelite radio ready cd player with some replacement speakers...and she got stuck with a shitty head unit, an overpriced amp, speakers that sounded worse than the stock ones, and a five hundred dollar bill for Dynamat installation alone!
When I took her receipt back the day after they BLATANTLY RIPPED HER OFF, the sleezeball manager said that it "was her problem," and that "this is how we operate and we won't be able to refund any of her money." I berated this douchebag for over thirty minutes because I was pissed. This was supposed to be a basic car stereo install and they're putting Dynamat in her car...WTF? Now I admit that she was stupid for paying this type of money up front, but she just didn't know any better and trusted what they told her = BIG MISTAKE AT BEST BUY
When I told her what it should have cost (around $300-$450) she started crying and I felt really bad. She ended up going back after I did, and they did take the unnecessary items out of her car and refunded her money, but the taste that these guys left in my mouth is still very bitter. They straight up told me, right to my face, that they basically ripped her off and that was that. Well you know what? Now I'm telling everyone else what you told me - STAY AWAY FROM THE CAR AUDIO DEPARTMENT HERE! They'll rip you off...and they just don't care. -

Sales people are hard to track down ...some of the people are really knowledgeable . Place has a good selection of everything though. prices do seem alittle steep on some items.but u can find good deals
they push extra warranty service on you for everything too and they are usually dont cover much
better customer service than frys though -

First time I was here was for Black Friday 2007. I probably will never come back here until Black Friday 2008, as Best Buy is generally overpriced anyway compared to Fry's or http://Amazon.com.
On the other hand, Best Buy's Black Friday deals are indeed worth it, but only if you're buying a lot of shit. Don't be the two assholes behind me who waited in line all night to get $25 MP3 players or some shit. If you're not planning on spending over $100 I don't think it's worth the time and effort.
The store itself was ridiculous. Good selection, I guess, and much bigger than the one at McCarthy Ranch in Milpitas. Checkout ines on Black Friday were unsurprisingly antagonizing, but the staff seemed as helpful as they could be at 5AM. I messed up, got the wrong item that wasn't on sale, and the girl who fixed the transaction was really nice.
P.S. Apparently the secret to overcoming Black Friday waiting-in-line boredom is to bring alcohol and a tent. Just sit inside and drink--boredom solved! Just not too much, because when morning comes you want to be carrying shit out of the store, not BE carried out of the store. -

I LOVE BEST BUY! I have bought TVs, dvds, mp3 players, DS lite, PSP, wii, laptops, and other random stuff. I get a warranty with everything and i love how it works, if it breaks they fix it or replace it, its great no questions asked. The people are friendly and helpful I always find what i want and if not, they will help me find it at another store.
Today I actually had a horrible experience with GEEK SQUAD! The fat white guy was an idiot, when i think of geeks i think of intelligent people, well that wasnt this guy. He was overall useless and told me they wouldnt replace my camera! I love my camera its the best, it is the Panasonic Lumix TMZ-1.
The man that sold it to me in December 2006 (Santana Row) said if i bought the replacement plan if the camera wasnt working they would just replace it, like all my other electronics i have bought. Well for some reason they lied and they dont do that with cameras. So I was P.O. they took the camera and said it should be ready by 6/26/08 lets hope it done by then and it works if not i want to complain and get a whole new one.
Overall service is good except for geek squad never go to those guys, place is clean and organized, I love the sales they have, i recommend BEST BUY to any electronics, gamer, and computer lover out there. -

I'm a huge Best Buy fan and this one is pretty good. The staff may not know the entire inter workings of all the products but expecting them to have that knowledge is unfair on any consumers part.
I don't expect them to know as much as consumer reports and if your going in for a TV or computer DO YOUR RESEARCH.
The only problem I have is that the checkout stands can be a mess at times but there's always plenty of parking and with the exception of a Mario Wii video game that was out of stock all over the bay area, they have always had what I needed
