Had to get a new Belkin adapter. Best Buy in Mira Mesahad it. Better than Frys, but the dwindling DVD section does not make me happy because it used to be the place to go to get niche DVDs (Godzilla movies in my case).
They always seem to know when to open new checkout stands as the pace picks up. Been coming here since it opened...keep coming back.1 Previous Review:

The DVD section sucks now. Use to be the place to go for obscure titles. Not now.

I WOULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS IF POSSIBLE DUE TO BAAAD MANAGEMENT!
I have been a loyal customer of best buy for about 10years now. I purchase multiple flat screens, A/V recovers, Blueray and sound systems from year yearly for our small business needs.
While looking for a cable they didn't carry I decided to buy a Polk Audio 6000 Sound bar on a whim. Even though I know I can buy it cheaper online I like the good service I typically receive. Plus I like human contact.
BUT, Today I was told by the store manager Ken that he was not only going to give a small discount to honor a bum coupon but then further told me he was going to look into who sold me a A/V receiver a month ago and reprimand him for giving me a previous discount. After telling him he has horrible customer service skills (Which he does) he then asked me to leave "his" store because I was "not a good Customer and he didn't need my kind of business". NOTHING A STORE MANAGER SHOULD EVER DO! I would be out of business I ran it like Ken, He should go through anger management and customer service classes before being allowed back on the floor.
So for $38.62 I will no longer be using best buy to purchase my business or personal products unless Corporate makes it up to me...... -

Prices are high, customer service bites. I try to avoid this place, but since they sell Apple products and I was too lazy to go to UTC - I HAD to go back.
Gosh, that store is so over priced. At least their apple products are capped by Apple pricing - the other stuff, omgosh, you would think they thought it was gold.
Nordstrom pricing at Walmart service. lol -

Glad this best buy is here now! I am very happy to have an electronics store close to my house. They have everything I need. Sometimes though it can be a little tough to totally just check out the products and mess with them because a lot of associates question you alot.. but either way i know it's there job. They also have great best buy credit card and pay back terms!

Do not even bother with getting a Geek Squad extra warranty at this place. They intentionally sell you on one and give you the wrong warranty. I took back 2 Headsets and had the 2 year warranty in case anything happened to them. I asked the cashier if this covered breakage and he said yes it did. First set broke on the head band part. Took it in. Replaced, no issue. Second set... Same breakage but upon taking it in the CS rep said I had the wrong warranty. and the faulty head piece was not covered despite me having the exchange receipt.
Enter manager... She tells me that the warranty I got doesn't cover what I need despite the item being replaced once already. She doesn't know why they even sold me that type of warranty and admits the person who sold me the warranty made the mistake. Will not honor her employees mistake by replacing my headphones. Offers to refund the warranty but at a prorated rate??
Terrible customer service.
Shifty sales conduct.
Fry's will be getting my business 100% from now on. Which BTW is a lot cheaper than Best Buy and has a much better return policy. They at least honor their mistakes. I won't be recommending BB at all ever.
I really do hope their regional manager takes a look at these reviews. It's a bad thing when your CS department is this bad. -

Friendly service, BUT expensive prices...
Large selection for your entertainment and technology needs.
Plenty of parking.
Never too busy, unless during a huge holiday sale.
If you know what you want, you can be in and out real fast. -

Today I was reminded why why I have not shopped at Best Buy for over 5 years.
The consistent problems with this company are that (1) they hire people who are not knowledgeable about their products, (2) they are ALWAYS understaffed, (3) the customer service is terrible, and (4) despite the promise in the store's name that you can't find a better deal out there, they are over-priced.
I went into this store today to enquire about Serius Radio. There was only one employee working in the car stereo department and there were 8 other people standing there and waiting for him to help them and answer their questions. I saw another employee stocking a shelf and asked him to answer some questions i had about the product, but he saiud he didn't know anything and told me to wait to speak to the guy with the audience of impatient, foot-tapping pissed off people who were also waiting. I mean, why should customers have to wait to give a store its business?
So when I finally got to talk to this guy he was unable to answer my questions and was clueless about a basic product.
On my way out I told the guy greeting people at the door how much I hate Best Buy and why I will never some back. He told me that sometimes they send employees to other departments to cover for people who are out, and that often they are not familiar with the products. This store sucks. I mean, if you work at a store you should know ALL the products and be prepared to answer any questions.
I will seriously never shop at another Best Buy again. These stores waste the consumer's time, money, and insults their intelligence. -
Review from Eric L.
Semi-Knowledgeable staff with a slight tinge of pushiness for upgrading your cables to Monster cables.
I've ordered a few things for the in store pickup and the lines to pick up are effectively non existent but that didn't stop me from not being able to get in and out of there in less than half an hour. In a more coherent sentence, there were no lines but I still couldn't get out of there in half an hour.
Why? The person working the register gave me 2 separate sheets for the merchandise pickup (I ordered two items) and kept 1 saying that she needed it for her records. The security guard said he needed two sheets and told me to wait at the door until he confirmed I had paid for both objects. This... was unacceptable.
Another experience with them, I had pre-ordered a game and I did the midnight pickup. (I was REALLY BORED) The line was long and the line for non-pre-order pickup was longer. Needless to say the non-pre-order line got all taken care of and rung up before i could even get to the front of the line. Sad part is, I was in the middle of the line.
Worse part was that during the waiting, they had droves of employees asking if we wanted to upgrade. I'm sorry but WTF. All I wanted to do was just pick up my stuff and leave. Last time I do that. -

I wish I could give it NO stars. Don't take anything to Geek Squad and good luck with getting a store manager to call you back on a complaint.
I brought in my brand new Sony Vaio, purchased in Feb 2011 from Best Buy, for repair to Geek Squad in July 2011. The computer stopped working during a Windows update. I was told that it was probably a bad hard drive and they would send it to Sony to be repaired. I paid for a hard drive recovery to save my existing files. I was told that it would be a couple of weeks. The local store is very close to my house so I would stop by every week or so to check on my status, only to be told it was still at Sony. By the time Sept rolled around I was getting extremely impatient but the salespersons would always assure me and say that it's still there and sometimes it can take much longer. I even had a few say they would look into it and call me on cell. Each time, they would write down my number on the order. But then I would hear NOTHING.
This last weekend (Sat, Nov. 12th), I was in the store again to get my son some video games. I went to the counter and asked about my laptop. I told her it had been since the summer. The sales person said she would call me back. I told her that I have been told this over and over and at this point I wanted confirmation where my laptop was. She said it was at Sony and she would have to look into it. I left the store, again annoyed.
Surprisingly, she did follow up and called me later that day. She proceeded to tell me that my laptop had NEVER been shipped to Sony and that it's been sitting in the store the whole time. She informed me "out of courtesy, they would fix it in-house". She said there was no way of knowing that they never sent it because it was showing in the computer as being received by Sony. Furthermore, that they couldn't refund the back up fee since they had already done that (which I do not believe). It has been 5 months, so basically Best Buy has had my new laptop longer than I have.
I am a premier silver customer and this is how they treat customers that spend over $2500/annually. I hate to know how I would be treated if I wasn't. I even requested that the store manager call me. Not one word. I paid for the hard drive back-up back in July, expecting my laptop in a few weeks. Since then I had to recreate everything since I have been 5 mths w/o my laptop. I don't care that their system is so flawed and they don't do inventory checks on laptops sitting idle, waiting for repair. If they did either one of these things, my laptop would have been recovered and fixed in a timely manner. Or even if they screwed up, to be professional and courteous and apologize without saying "but..."
I am still waiting to hear from the store on when my laptop will be done. They have my home phone and cellphone. In the future, I will no longer be sending anything for repair and will try at all cost to avoid buying any electronics or anything at that Best Buy, if I do anywhere. Your company practices are beyond disgraceful in how you treat your customers and your process in which you run inventory on valuable items w/in Geek Squad is so far below standards. Apparently Best Buy has NO customer service training for the Geek Squad. -

Would be a zero if there is an option. Terrible customer service. Never showed any empathy or apologize when they make a mistakes. Sales price not reflected during check out making the payment process more painful. Manager is not helpful either.
What kind of manager yells at a customer.
I will never come back to this best buy. -

I really hate this place. I had a return that was unopened but 1 day past the allowed 30 days. They would not help me at all.
They caused me to be creative in the way I demonstrate my hate. I always buy things from them first. if I like it, I order one online and take the other back within 30 days. If I don't like it I just return it.
I only wish I could put a value on the total returns I have brought back to compare to a $27 network card they refused to accept back.
Eff you bb! -
Review from David H.
No problem making a return. In and out quickly. Just wish they would have more cashiers working the registers. Every time that I've been here they have like only 1 or 2 cashiers working the registers so you have to wait. Duh! Open a few more registers please!

If you're a true nerd, you buy computer stuff online since going outside means exposing your neckbeard in public and probably overpaying, leaving you less money for oreos, cup noodles and weed. That and your mom probably won't want to give you a ride either.
I've got gift cards here so I've been in a few times to use them up. The staff I have found to be mostly comprised of the fallout from dudes who got fired at the mall or the movie theater. If you know what you want and you check the ads in the junk mail or online, they have decent sales every once in a while. Plus, with circuit city gone, they are on the few remaining stores of it's kind. Still, meh. -

This review is for the installation/service department. Terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE!!!!
I bought a car alarm and had it installed here. I was being very flexible and told them I could pick up the car whenever it's ready. No rush. They give me a day/time and said it will for sure be ready by then. I SHOULD HAVE called first. Silly me to think they'd actually have the car ready by the time THEY picked. I bothered my friend to drive me from La Jolla to the far end of Mira Mesa only to discover that they hadn't even STARTED on my vehicle! WTH?!?! The service manager is making excuses. I'm pissed. Long story short, I have to leave and pick it up later after they call and assure me it's ready.
BUT the story does not end there. After I take the car home, I notice whenever I arm the car, the alarm beeps a second time and the hood icon appears on the screen, informing me that my hood is open. I check. The hood is tightly secured. ??? Turns out, THOSE IDIOTS were in such a rush to get the car to me that they installed the hood censor in a location where it wouldn't SENSE that the hood was closed!!! I had to be freaken MacGyver and fashion an extension of the hood so the censor would actually touch it and stop indicating my hood was open - the additional beep was rather annoying.
They fixed their mistake, but now I have an extra hole under my hood. But who looks under there anyway?!? =P This whole experience was just agitating. -

Last minute on a Sunday the alarm car instalation department saved me. I was having alarm problems with an alarm not even from them and they took me in and removed it for me and I only had to pay labor fee of 40. If I had gone somewhere else it would have been over 150. I didn't even know they had this department! Way to save my day best buy my car wouldn't be starting without you!!!!!

Samsung un55d8000 on sale at http://bestbuy.com but they don't show you the price until check out. The price was $1979.99. They are also running a special for a FREE Samsung bluray player and 3d starter kit with the purchase of the same Samsung monitor. They said it will discount your total by $530 at checkout. But when you enter the promotion, the cost of the monitor is now over $2500 plus the $349 for starter kit and $149 for the bluray player. Your new total is at $3000 minus the $530 discount, your price is the same as if you bought everything individually. Where is the FREE bluray player and starter kit is you increase the cost of the monitor by the same amount. The GM has no honor and horrible customer service and horrible customer relations. Never shop there again.

I had a terrible customer service experience at this store.
I needed to get a pricey item and so, I was able to print out a 10% coupon but it needed a Best Buy reward zone membership for it to work.
I went into the store and an employee asked if I needed help. This employee didn't look like she wanted to help me much- too busy talking to her supervisor.
I explained to her my situation and her immediate reply was, it's not going to work. It took several inquiries before she supplied the info, 'the computer system will not take it."
Her tone with me was very condescending. It sounded like she did not want to deal with me or explain why it would not take it.
I had to ask another employee if I started a memebership would the coupon work and he replied that it takes 30 days for a membership to be activated. -

Just another electronics store. I remember when you could actually find a deal at Best Buy. Occasionally I find myself in here from time to time if I cant find what I need at Circuit City, but typically if CC is sold out of something, so is Best Buy. I really wish they didn't have the security guard by the door. I can see how they'd want to protect themselves, but you'd think at an electronics store they could maybe have an ELECTRONIC device to scan people as they leave? A security guard just makes me feel untrusted and unwelcome as a customer.

First off I will never go to the Mira mesa best buy geek squad ever again and I recommend that all of my friends and family and everyone reading this do the same. From the start a man wearing a white shirt I'm assuming a manager named Adam who didn't identify himself until the 2nd time I asked was unpleasant from the get go. Then when I asked a simple question about USB ports he continued to tell me there was nothing he could do and "he didn't know what I did to mess it up" then when I had informed him 3 times prior that I had not had a service done through them he continued to ask a number I would be in the system and then told me he couldn't find it... Well of course you couldn't i already said you wouldnt. Then when i asked how to replace my battery he told me that because i had not purchased ny laptop through best buy there was nothing he could do. For a worker at geek squad he is definitely not representing them well. The geek squad needs to reevaluate their employees and hire some that can speak with customers and be helpful rather than rude, snotted and unpleasant employees.

So we decided to have a few drinks and go to Best Buy to buy an over-the-oven microwave. I'm glad we had the drinks first. There were a ton of employees milling around but difficult to get one to assist us .. finally Ben a good-looking young guy came over to the appliance section. He amazed us with his ability to hoist up the microwave off the shelf so we could look at the vent in the top, but disenchanted us with the promise we would get the appliance in "a couple of days." 18 days we will wait for our microwave!!!!!!! unfreakin believable. anyway, we decided to piss ourselves off even more and applied for a best buy credit card. Well, supposedly Mr. teen age long-hair huge holed piercings was doing a credit check while we stood in front of him for 20 minutes BUT turns out he was trying to figure out how to do a store refund on a CD. After someone else took over and processed our card, we then had to go back and find Ben. Ben was gone but we had someone else help us and again, yes 18 days for a $200 microwave. It was a decent deal and I wanted to go home to watch American Idol.
