9 reviews for Bertucci's Italian Restaurant
Came here on a Friday evening - 2 adults, 2 children, and an infant. We were told the wait would be about 20-25 minutes, but was closer to 15. We ordered the Mussels Caruso (in red sauce) app and Pucillo pizza. The mussels were a little salty, but still good. The pizza was pretty tasty.
Our server was friendly and attentive. He was neither clueless nor a prick as is sometimes the case at chain pizza places.
Kids loved the cold dough that came out with their mac and cheese kids' meals.

7 of us met up for dinner last night at Bertucci's and I've gotta say that I really liked several things about it. First off we went around 8pm so most of the annoyances others had experienced were in bed for the night. We ordered a caesar salad, the ultimate bertucci pizza, the sporkie pizza, and a bottle of sangria. So, best sangria I've ever tasted. It was better then the sangria I drank in some of the villages in Spain. The salad was average but the rolls they give you are spectacular. The pizzas were top notch brick oven delights. I especially liked the sporkie, which was sweet Italian sausage with ricotta cheese. Everyone was really pleased and I'd definitely go back when I'm in town.

Bertucci's is one of my favorite restaurants because it has my single favorite restaurant food. We eat here 10-12 times each year. The service is normally good and the atmosphere is family friendly.
The lunch includes all you can eat rolls and salad, which is a good deal. The rolls are usually hot and soft and the dipping oil is good. The salad is nothing fancy with few ingredients, but it is normally fresh and you can help fill yourself up on this instead of stuffing yourself with the typical sides you would normally have at a restaurant - fries, onion rings, etc. Be sure to get the dressing on the side, because the salad often comes swamped with it.
My favorite meal is the Carmine pizza. It has a sauce that is darker and tastier than most pizza places. It is not covered in cheese, but has dollops of fresh mozzarella. It IS covered by very good caramelized onions. A splendid pizza from a chain restaurant is unusual, but for me, the Carmine fits that bill.
The pizzas are, well, awesome. The pasta dishes are good and the bread is really good. The service was decent (but we did come at an early hour). The open kitchen was a lot of fun. They've got what looks to be a full bar.
I have to say that I like Bertucci's. It's a good fake Italian chain restaurant. It will definitely be on my short list for when I'm in Columbia ... which I hope isn't too often!

We've been to this Bertucci's many times and this time we were sorely disappointed. Let me explain by way of splitting out the 3 stars into:
Food: 5 stars
We were there for lunch, and ordered the large Bertucci pizza, which is cheese and pepperoni. The crust was thin and crispy, the sauce was just right and there was very little grease. It was served hot and fresh.
Lunches at the B also come with bottomless salad and rolls, of which we partook of with gusto. I always doctor up the "Italian Butter" aka oil with a few herbs in it, with salt, pepper and parm, so it's much tastier. The salad is good too, just the right amount of dressing and a perfect blend of veggies.
Service: 1 star
We had a very poor waitress. I won't publish her name, as the manager insists that she's usually one of their best wait staff, which I really, really hope means she was having an off day and not that the rest of the wait staff suck that much worse! ;-)
She was very short with us, and seemed put out by requests for refills and more salad. (BTW, I HATE asking for refills, it should be automatic...) And it was not busy at all, so there was really no excuse for her attitude.
I spoke with the manager as we were leaving and she apologized and said she would speak to the errant waitress, but that she was normally very good. Either way, she didn't get a tip from me.
Overall, I won't judge the Bertucci's by this one experience. We'll come back again, as the food is good. And maybe we'll have better luck with the service next time, too.

Good pizza. If you do takeout and ask for rolls, check them before you leave. They like to put the old rolls (hard as baseballs) up front for takeout orders.
This place has okay pizza - some are certainly better than others. We usually get the Quattro pizza which is pretty good. I will say though - this place is "family friendly." So if you don't like a place with kids I wouldn't go here. And obviously, the food isn't super healthy, but hey, it's a pizza joint.

Some other reviews (not yelp) said the pizza was really good at bertucci's so we went there and asked what was the most popular pizza. The waitress said the ultimate bertucci is good (each quarter of the pizza has a different topping either sausage, meat balls, ham, or chicken) so we ordered that and we were not disappointed. Of the three meat toppings I would say the sausage ranked the best and the meat balls probably came in at the bottom but still decent. The service was quite good. They also serve very tender rolls (almost the best rolls were it not for the lone star steakhouse in Tustin, CA which has similar rolls but with a sweet glaze. The lone star steakhouse in Columbia may or may not serve the same rolls, we went there for lunch once and they served some dark rolls that were mediocre.)

sorry guys i went to a awesome snadwidch place in baltimore but i forgot the name. so in meantime, here is a franchise pizza place near columbia, my hometown. good pizza. tonight i found out they are also kid friendly. my friend's little one displayed a tantrum by screaming his toungue out several octave. and several times. but people around did not seem to mind much. my vote to good pizza and kid friendly patrons and restraurant.
