Let me just start off with, I don't even like frozen yogurt.  So my friend wanted some frozen yogurt and I went in with her.  The place was nice looking inside, very clean.  I asked for a sample of the coffee flavor, because I am a coffee freak!  I immediately was SHOCKED by how yummy it was and ordered a small on the spot.  I didn't get any toppings, but they did look good.  The size small was pretty big, and definitely enough for me.  They gave me a punch card, but didn't tell me I would have received 15% off if I showed my student ID.  Bummer.  At least I know for next time.

I can't really compare this place to other chains, because I haven't tried those, but I wouldn't hesitate to return to Berrywild.  That's for sure!

If there were a froyo hierarchy, Berrywild would not be top tier.  But that I can choose whether I want my yogurt sweet or tarty and that my heaps of mango were ripened to bombtastic perfection render my accidental first time visit to Berrywild awesome.

(And yet, I've had better.)

Everything tastes chalky. The mochi is not as good as Red Mango or Pinkberry. The chocolate chips also taste chalky and too dark, or something. The strawberries were acceptable, but maybe frozen. I got the "kinda icy," which tastes like Pinkberry, but...chalky?

Bottom-line: CHALKINESS. Serious problem.

Ah Berrywild, how I love you on a sweltering summer day. Sometimes you are icy, sometimes you are smooth but you are always delivering that cool sweet treat love on every visit.

Unfortunately this location has a tendency to run out of some items and when your menu is literally 6 different flavors of fro-yo, it's a pretty big bummer to be out of 1/3 of it. Today there was no Banana or Green Tea. I love me some banana with strawberry and mochi topping. One time to our great vexation they were out of MOCHI and we had to walk two more blocks to Red Mango. Picky, you say? No, no let me just tell you mochi is one of the greatest food inventions of all time. Gooey, soft, gummy powdery sugary balls of smiles...

Anyway. Where was I? Ok, so yes Berrywild offers up some quality fro-yo and is as expensive as all the others. The icy tastes the same as pinkberry to me. The creamy has a more traditional softee taste. The fruit options are all pretty normal but then I discovered the Holy Grail of fro-yo toppings...they have cheesecake balls. Yes, my friend...little balls of cold cheesecake rolled in graham cracker crumbs. That should be all I need to say.

I was going to try Lula's but got side tracked by Berrywild. The weather was halfway decent and I wanted something cool. I walked into Berrywild and splurged for a medium Pomegranate with almonds and toasted coconut. The girl at the counter said it would be cheaper to get a third topping. I was slightly confused. Their pricing or specials make no sense. I went with it and asked for strawberry as well. I watched the guy make my yogurt and he did not put the toasted coconut on it. Instead he put the white shredded coconut. I interrupted and told the girl. "Um, I think he put the wrong coconut on my yogurt." I told that lady it was okay (God I am so  compromising) but then I was a little disappointed and started to whine. "It just tastes different. Can you put a little of the toasted coconut on it?" The guy obliged and I had one cup of a party in my hands.

Shredded and toasted coconut does taste different as well as has different consistencies. I found out I actually like them both on my yogurt. Thank you Berrywild. The tart yogurts are pretty good. For some reason I will always gravitate towards the Green Tea and Pomegranate here but not at Red Mango.

Is Berrywild better than Red Mango? Of course not. But it runs a close second.

Best yogurt, seriously. And this is coming from a froyo freak. I've had it all, Pinkberry, Red Mango, 16 Handles, Yogurtland, Daydream, Yogurt Station, you name it. I've tried it. This place is certainly in my Top 5. Prices are justified for the smooth creamy and actually cold yogurt, most places I've had the yogurt melts half way, etc etc. This place stayed cool until the end. Fruit toppings are extremely fresh. The dry toppings are packed so everyone is guaranteed a fair share, which means how ever many chocolate chip pieces are in your yogurt is the same as the next person who orders it. I call it, fair game. I'll be seeing you next time, Berrywild for your pomegranate!

I'm not quite sure if this location is the one I'm writing a review on (although it's on W23rd st)

It's a pretty decent price for the Wild Things (one type of yogurt three toppings = 5.50), a better price than Red Mango and Pink Berry.

The yogurt here taste better too in my opinion. The smooth ones taste like icecream but with yogurt flavor, and it's really appetizing. The icy ones are like the ones they serve in every fro-yo place, so I have no problem with that either.

The only flavors I've tried so far is pomegranate and regular, by the time I go to the store, they've already run out of green tea because it's so heavily demanded.

Either way I like Berry Wild, it's cheaper for me and it has fresh toppings.

The only thing I don't like is the sign, it's too 'wild' for me :D

a few days after i posted my review, the owner contacted me, apologized for the service (apparently, there were lots of new hires) and offered me a free wild thing on the house.

since i'm never in that area, i only got the chance to redeem that free froyo this past tuesday when i finished-up an interview a few blocks away. i know that i didn't follow instructions - his note specifically said to contact XXX - but i figured that i could speak with any manager on-duty and explain the situation.

i was greeted by a very impatient barista - not sure why because there were only three people in line, including myself, and i've seen that place get crazy - who clucked her tongue when i wanted to sample the passion fruit flavor, and continued to barrage everyone else, "is anyone ready to order?!" when i asked another guy behind the counter if i could speak to XXX, he gave me the rudest, most perplexed look, and said, "i don't know who that is." end of story. only when i asked the barista to speak to her manager did she turn sweet. sickly sweet ... TOTAL 180. she kept on asking me why i needed to speak with him.

hmm, i guess someone knows that they were giving shitty service.

apparently, the manager/XXX was on vacay and i couldn't redeem anything, but i went ahead and ordered a medium creamy with chocolate chips. props to management for storing the meltable toppings in individual cups. however, minus three stars for the crap ass service. listen guys, i do feel bad because you were genuinely concerned about my experience, but do something about your employees ... they suck.

i'm glad someone is taking the initiative to get customer feedback.  as i work in the service industry, i'm huge on customer service, and i can appreciate the fact that that the owner of berrywild would take the time out to come look at what customers think and improve upon the things that could be made better.  will check back there in the upcoming weeks to see if there's improvement :)

they run out of flavors. they run out of toppings. they run out of everything.

the good news? this place is much better than the nearby red mango. and their "small" size is much larger, for the same price. (they actually fill the cup. imagine that!)

the yogurt has a nice taste and consistency. nothing to write home about, but very satisfying.

i'm intrigued by their "yogurt balls". ha.

Yum!  Way better than Red Mango, which is way better than Pinkberry.

Service sucked it big time.. I didn't even realize there were these two kinds- smooth or kinda icy- because the guy couldn't wait for us to get out of there so he could continue.. sitting in his chair.

I guess I got the smooth style because it tasted almost like ice cream.. hallelujah!  I hate yogurt so I'm not sure why I get suckered into buying these $6 cups of crap.  This one, however, was almost worth it..

While I haven't had a chance to visit all the fro-yo chains that have popped up in the last few years this place is currently leading the pack.

What I really like is the options of getting either smooth(creamy) or icy(tart).  The icy is not as tart as Pinkberry which I like. The smooth is very similar to Red Mango.  Their sizes are pretty big here too, even the small is pretty filling, but if you are going to get a few toppings go medium.

Topping are similar to what you find in red mango and the fruit looks very fresh here. That's not always the case at some of the other fro-yo joints.

I'm loving checking these places out here at the end of the winter because I doubt I'd bother when summer hits and they start having lines out the door.

It was 4:00 in the afternoon and the weather a fairly chilly 48 degrees. Paradoxically, I turned to CK and said, "I want a sweet frozen treat!"

Without a second of hesitation she agreed, "I'll go!"

Our party of two quickly turned to four and soon we were in the elevator with our fate sealed: Berrywild, to ward off that pesky late afternoon lethargy.

The frozen yogurt at Berrywild is divided into two camps: "Berry Smooth" and "Kinda Icy". When we asked for an explanation the bloke behind the counter explained that the "Kinda Icy" was more tart. Tart equals terrific in my frozen yogurt book so I asked for a sample of the plain, which turned out to be exactly what I was looking for - not too sweet, very tangy. I ordered up a small and topped it with raspberries and mochi.

By the time I'd finished my cup I was ready to work for at least another three hours.

Berrywild: my new late afternoon energy remedy!

Back from lunch and feeling dreamy
Craving something cold and creamy

Saw Berrywild on twenty-third
And thought, "oh yeah, good things I've heard."

I snagged my usual combo of fruits
Rasps, and blues, and some mochi to boot.

Points for two versions, one smooth and one icy
I went for smooth, and it went down nicely

I guess you could say it was good, but not great
So I'll still hit Red Mango for my fun, frozen treat.

(Yeah, that last one was a slant rhyme.  Deal with it).

Yo, yo, yo ... another yogurt shop in da 'hood.

The icy versions (green tea or pomegranate) taste like Pinkberry.  I'm guessing the smooth versions (coffee, banana) taste more like ice cream.

Had the Pomegranate with blueberries, strawberries & almond toppings - just under $7 with tax.

Not too shabby.  Give it a swirl ... er ... whirl.

Bonus: Open 'til 9p for those later cravings.

So good. Berrywild has always been my favorite of the froyo chains-- and now they've added "yogurt balls" to the toppings menu and just became even better. If you're a froyo purist like me, treat yourself to an Icy Plain with a few passionberry balls. If you're feeling crazy, top with blueberries.

I went on my break this afternoon in search of something sweet, not sure of exactly what I was going to get.  I ended up on 23rd Street b/c I remembered there was a French patisserie there.  What I found instead was a girl handing out free samples of Berrywild yogurt.

I tried a sample of the brown yogurt (there was also white and pink), expecting it to be chocolate.  I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be coffee - and better still, it was thick and creamy!  Within seconds of my first lick, I stepped into the threshold of the shop.

It's obviously still brand new, and everything looked clean and untouched.  There are a few tables inside, but on a day like today, no one was going to waste the sunshine and warm Indian summer weather.

I liked how they give you a choice between icy and smooth yogurt.  Each kind had three flavors to offer.  I ordered a small Caribbean coffee (smooth) topped with cookie crumbles for $4.  The server was very generous with the cookie crumbles too!

Now, I should mention that I haven't really been swept up in the whole fro-yo frenzy.  I've enjoyed Flurt, Yolato and Pinkberry (in that preferred order), but it's not necessarily something that I crave.  And it's certainly not something that I'm about to start designating a portion of my paycheck for.

That being said, I really did enjoy my Berrywild yogurt.  It had a nice thickness to it and the flavor hit the sweet spot for me.  Honestly, I didn't even need the cookie crumbles for the extra flavor kick; I would have happily eaten it plain.  Now, that's something that I definitely can't say for the more sour fro-yos.  But I can say that I'm very happy to have a good dessert option in the work neighborhood!

*Please note that I'm not sure of the exact address number.  I assumed there would already be a Yelp listing, so I had to guesstimate by counting down from Lenny's, a few doors west.

Hey - I like this! Pinkberry not so much but Berrywild just seemed to do this tart yogurt thang a little bit better.

I got the Pomegranate flavor with blackberries and was tempted to add some blueberries on there too but the cheapy in me didn't want to have to pay $6 for a small yogurt. In addition to several other flavors, you can also choose between "Smooth" and "Kinda Icy". The difference being "Smooth" style is not as tart.

Would I go back again? Sure! I mean, who doesn't need a 4pm froyo break? Even in November.

Never crowded, and I can't figure out why.

I think they do a great job. I always get fruit toppings and Berrywild has good quality berries. Their yogurt is light and tart, without that funny sticky aftertaste that so many others have. I'd recommend it!
