Wow this place has a ton of reviews, and they're almost all good!
What else can I say? It's relatively cheap $3.10 for a mini cup.
You can get all the topping you want.
Add mine to the list. -

What the hell? Who even makes mass-market lavender-honey frozen yogurt to begin with, much less SO GOOD and relatively cheap? Am I dreaming? OH MY GOD, AM I DEAD?
No, probably not, because I still have that rash. My point being, this place has terrific fro-yo in amazing flavors (I've also had the pumpkin and the gingerbread) with great toppings and at lower prices than Pinkberry ($3.60ish for a small with 1 topping vs. almost $5 for the same at Pinkberry, I think). The texture is smooth and rich, the yogurty tang is nicely balanced, the sweetness is just right, and the flavors taste natural and honest. And at 125 calories for a topping-free small size, you could do much, much worse things to your pants.
Run, don't walk. -

I think I often find any excuse to go to Berryline. It's delicious and better than ice cream. The rotation of amazing flavors is key. I think I had pumpkin froyo with pumpkin bread as a topping. Seriously?? Pumpkin Bread topping!
the original flavor still remains my favorite with either blackberries or mochi. -

Honestly up there with some of the best! Was brought here to be shown that Pink berry has competition in the fro-yo game. Glad I came, although I don't care for several of the flavors other than the original. Next time i'm in the area, I will drop in to try it again.

Review from Andrea B.
When my friend told me that this BerryLine had cinnamon peanut butter as its newest flavor, I made it a top priority to get myself right over to Harvard Square after work the next day. And it was absolutely worth the trip. The balance between the cinnamon and peanut butter flavors is perfect and goes with the tartness of the frozen yogurt better than I thought it would. Add my usual toppings - mochi and yogurt chips, and you've got yourself a frozen yogurt masterpiece.
So why not five stars? One thing that I've noticed in my total of three trips to this particular BerryLine is the mochi is always a little off. One time it was a little too chewy, another time it had too much flour on it. This is quite an important consideration, since mochi is my favorite and therefore most essential topping on my fro-yo. I've never encountered this at the other locations I've been to so far (Porter Square and Fenway). But it's still mochi and I still liked it, so it didn't detract from my experience too much.
As soon as you get a new flavor, I will be back, BerryLine. But since that won't be for about two weeks, I'll probably be back sooner.Listed in: My Boston Favorites, Fabulous Fro Yo!

What can I say? I work on Arrow St., so even if Berryline wasn't wonderful I would probably end up here on occasion anyway -- luckily that's not a scenario I've had to face. Over the course of the past year I've been to Berryline countless times and have never been disappointed with the quality of the product or the toppings offered, although a few of the special flavors haven't wowed me personally.
My one main complaint, and the only thing preventing me from giving a 5 star review, is that the flavors at this location very routinely stick around far past their welcome. While the flavors at the other locations tend to update about once a week, we've seen less popular ones (at least among my co-workers) like Lavender-Honey languish for weeks. Show a little love to your first location & let us experience the awesome-ness of Pumpkin Pie flavored yogurt!
Meanwhile, I'm pretty satisfied enjoying my original with Figs & Pumpkin Bread... but a girl can dream. -

Simply the best frozen yogurt that isn't loaded with hidden calories and added sugar. The fruit toppings are always fresh! Tip- get your stamp card, fill it up to earn a free yogurt. Flavors continue to change every two weeks or so, except for original which is delicious.
The only drawback is a portion of the staff and really rude and miserable. Others can be very pleasant and accommodating. -

I always need a cup of refreshing froyo in my life, and if you do too then you should give this place a swirl!
I always get the plain flavor (THE BEST HANDS DOWN) but there's something for everyone.
What's not to love??? Come get converted ice cream freaks! -

What is this, and how can I convince this company to come to northern Vermont?! My only past experiences with FroYo come courtesy of TCBY, but BerryLine is wayyy better. Fresh fruit toppings atop a small cup of a sweet but not too saccharine frozen treat...yum. I had the original flavor with strawberries on top, which was awesome. A friend had the ginger-blueberry, which apparently was also really good.
I will be coming back when I'm in Boston again. -

I had the most amazing frozen yogurt flavor here the other day - vanilla cardamom - blew my mind. They have much more creative yogurt flavors than PinkBerry.
I also recently found out that BerryLine was founded by a post-doc from MIT and one from Harvard. Since I've lived in Cambridge for so many years, I feel an allegiance to this local chain. http://www.thecrimson....
Since you get charged by the topping here, if you are gunning to have a cup of original flavored yogurt with the works, PinkBerry may be a more cost-effective place for you to go! -

Berryline is the bomb. I try to come to this location on weekends with my hubby. I'm always excited to see what different new flavors they have, and they always have something good. Of course you can't go wrong with the Original flavor...
I'm taking a star away just because the people who work at the Newbury location are a lot friendlier, and I've also gotten some skimpy servings here at the Harvard location. -

Berryline has extremely delicious frozen yogurt- if I was rating on taste alone, I would rate it above a 5. The only reason why it gets 4 stars is because of the size. The place is very small and gets crowed even if there's only a few people in the place. And there's about enough seating for 5 or 6 people, which is often full, so you have to find somewhere else if you want to sit and eat.
But overall, I highly recommend Berryline if you want a quick froyo fix. -

The peppermint oreo is by far and away the worst fro yo i've ever tasted.
That, and they only had 3 flavors total.
And the service sucked. -

I really like their original yogurt, but the flavored yogurts are hit and miss. The strawberry was sort of bland and the lemon basil had huge potential but was overly bitter and not lemon-y enough. The quality of fruit toppings are also hit and miss. It is, however, right on my route between work and home and great for a little something sweet when I need it.

Review from Steve B.
SO EFFING GOOD, and relatively good for you too! Sure, it has some carbs and stuff, but no fat and no high fructose corn syrup...plus, its in Cambridge, so its probably doing something great for the environment or saving blind kittens in Darfur or something too. I'm not a big healthy food guy, and cling to the "fat is flavor" mantra, but BL rocks the very foundation of that dogma!
I've been here 1-2 times a month for the last year since I began working down the street. I usually go for the "Original" flavor, which is a sort of fruity, tart, and sweet all at the same time. Its delicious.
They have a rotating selection of flavors, and today I tried the salted caramel...I was really impressed. It gave the salted caramel ice cream at David Burke's Primehouse in Chicago a serious run for its money!
I usually go for the mocci topping, which is a sort of sweetened rice paste item that has the texture of a gummi bear.
I always get out of there with a medium yogurt with a topping for less than $5, so its a reasonably inexpensive treat too!
The staff is young and super friendly. I'm looking forward to continuing to be a semi-regular! -

Review Update:
I decided to stroll back over here when someone told me that I should get the Caramel Apple Frozen Yogurt. I decided to get a small Caramel Apple with Pineapple, Strawberries, and Blueberries. It did not disappoint. I loved the sweet creaminess and the somewhat distinct flavor. The fruits were freshly good and just made the frozen yogurt even better.
I think the quality of service had depreciated a tiny bit compared to my last visit here. The enthusiasm was definitely lacking, but I guess I can understand that because they may have handled a lot of customers during a nice day. However, every time I come to this place, I did not encounter any significantly large queue. Another disadvantage this place has is that they usually have 3 frozen yogurt flavors to choose from, but I think they change them often. However, some flavors such as the Caramel Apple are so unique that you probably would not find a flavor this distinct nearby. Prices seem to slightly reasonable, and I think for the value, the prices are slightly less than Pinkberry or Red Mango's frozen yogurt.
Overall, this is probably going still be my primary choice for frozen yogurt in Harvard Square, and I still believe that it is a great alternative to Pinkberry or Red Mango. Even with the new Pinkberry that has opened down the streets in Harvard Square, it will not stop me from coming to this place. I just hope there really will not be any large queues any time soon.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I've been a Berry Line fan for as long as I've lived in Boston, but for some reason am just now reviewing it for the first time.
Actually, the reason that I am just now reviewing it for the first time is because recently I've been on a quest to find a tangy froyo establishment that I felt could rival Berry Line. I couldn't do it!
In the past month I've been to Chill in Cleveland Circle, Red Mango, and Berry Freeze in Coolidge Corner and none of them have matched the deliciousness of Berry Line. Chill came the closest, and was more affordable, but still didn't have the same feeling.
Berry Line's yogurt is the perfect amount of tart blended with the perfect amount of creamy. The toppings are unrivaled.
I've yet to try Pinkberry, but I really don't think it'll have anything on my old friend Berry Line.
As a colleague of mine sings, "Berry Line, Berry Line you can have it anytime. Berry Line, Berry Line have it in the winter time." -
Review from Ellie W.
Mm, blackberry fro-yo? I thought I had tasted all the flavors possible, but OH, was I wrong. There are plenty of toppings to choose from, you can't really go wrong.
I had the original with tazo chocolate, oreo chunks, and strawberries. Kind of a Valentine fro-yo mix in the middle of May. Without the fat! I don't know why people don't give fro-yo for V-day more often...beats flowers (you can't eat flowers).
Berryline does seem to give you a little more bang for your buck over Pinkberry and Red Mango, the other fro-yo kings in the area.
For a small (which is actually way more than enough), and three toppings, you only fork over $4.50. And you get to sit in a weird basement-like cove, slurping down your fro-yo like a proper obsessee. -

Good tart yogurt with fresh fruit. Healthy, refreshing, and yummy. Normally I rebel against such healthy fare, but its just undeniably good!
There are so many frozen yogurt shops popping up though and my palette has yet to distinguish key differences between them (e.g., Red Mango, BerryLine, bo-yo, Pinkberry, etc.). BerryLine is local and gets props for that. -

YUMMMMMM
If you've ever been to Mochi, this is essentially the same thing, without the do-it-yourself approach. They are, however, happy to let you sample anything you want before you order.
I got the nutella flavored fro-yo topped with white chocolate chips, waffle cone pieces, and pecans. It was orgasmically good. I mean, come on-- Nutella fro-yo. Does it require any more explanation?
I could eat this stuff every day, and the fact that is way better for you than ice cream helps a little. I'm interested to see what different flavors they get, as they rotate regularly. When I went they had vanilla, banana, and nutella, and all three were great, but I'd be stoked for some taro or honeydew or something even more exotic as well. -
Review from Brigid M.
For a no-guilt, frozen yogurt fix, BerryLine is where its at. Not some monster brand (eyes on you, PinkBerry), but a quaint local chain. This locale is nicely tucked in on the side streets of Harvard Square, and is completed by its hippyish staff.
I'm not gonna lie I can't taste the difference between PinkBerry & BerryLine, but what I do know is that the ingredients are more plentiful and the menu is less confusing. Ergo, BerryLine wins. -

Berryline's like Frozen Greek yogurt- nice and tart.
The toppings are fresh and plentiful and the portions are generous all around.
It's 3.75 for a small with one topping. Not bad.
The plain flavor is made with non-fat milk, cultures and cane sugar- it's 125 calories per 4 oz. serving. The only ones that have fat in them are the oreo, peanut butter and nutella.
Very refreshing and so different from regular fro yo but if you don't like tangy yogurt, you probably won't like the plain. -

Although quite partial to Pinkberry's abundant topping options, I found BerryLine to be quite comparable and not nearly as crowded on a Saturday night after dinner in Harvard Square. The yogurt is just the right amount of tart, the toppings were plentiful (which they should be if you're going to charge me for each one), and I had an overall good experience. Off the beaten path, but worth the extra block's walk. Yum!!

BerryLine is the frozen yogurt against which all fro-yo should be measured. It's amazing! The crazy flavors keep me coming back for more - lavender honey, coconut almond, and nutella, oh my! Even though the toppings are great, I usually just get my yogurt plain so that I can savor the deliciousness in its purest state. Oh, BerryLine, I love you so!

Who can argue with lines 5 or 10 yards out the door on any nice day? The treat matches Pinkberry for deliciousness but the independent, local feel is hard to beat. The staff seems to be having a good enough time, even when they're busy so they're a pleasure, too.
If you're touring the square and seeking a treat for your stroll, it's worth the wait. -

I'm a huge PInkberry fan, but I do like this place because the consistency and the tanginess of the "original tart" flavor is the same as Pinkberry's. (Red Mango is too creamy for my taste!)
Mochi is usually my favorite topping though, and the mochi here is kind of weird. It's too squishy and you can almost feel the starchiness of it.
However, the price of yogurt here is not as bad as Pinkberry's! But now that Pinkberry's in town, I wonder how the BerryLine chain will do... -

I really don't care for this ice cream. It's so bitter! Ick!
I have no problem with the service or the place itself however.
They do have cute paintings as decorations! -

Don't know why Pinkberry isn't around the area yet, but these guys are good.
No fat, filling, and cheap could lead to an eating disorder, but works for me. -

This is legit Froyo on this side of the Charles River.
Caramel Apple side by side with Original? hits the spot even on a BRISK New England night.
The best part about this place is that they ain't stingy about fruits. I got not one, but TWO scoops of blueberry and not one, but TWO scoops of mango.
The raspberry flavor ain't that bad either... -
Review from Terry C.
I was walking on cobblestones with my heels after work to BerryLine thinking, "This place better be worth it..." and it sure Was.
BerryLine is small and clean. They have a few tables and a countertop by the window for seating.
There was a line out the door but it moved very fast. The flavors for the night were Original, Oreo and Lychee. I tried the oreo and lychee. The oreo was too sweet and it tasted like soft serve chocolate ice cream. But the lychee was really good. I ordered the lychee froyo with 3 toppings (graham cracker, banana and mango) for under 5 dollars! They were very generous with the toppings unlike some other froyo places.
Also, BerryLine offers a good variety of toppings with a few specials such as Figs. And if you're a big mochi topping fan, i think you should definitely try BerryLine's. The mochi pieces are really big and yummy - chewy and sweet. -
Review from Josephine L.

I used to work literally across the street from this place, which was dangerously healthy (or unhealthy....Is fro yo actually healthy?).
Anyway, the product is good. The new flavor of the week is always interesting, like the guava frozen yogurt that I still can't quite get out of my mind and sob a little if I spend too much time thinking about how I won't have it again. The fruit is pretty much always fresh and nicely chopped up into bite-sized pieces.
But the service/clientele can really suck. Snooty, preppy, loud, obnoxious, entitled, mindlessly self-involved Harvard kids frequent this place at all hours of the sunset (when school's out) and the tiny space gets jam-packed without a single Urban Outfitter-attired body willing to just move the f**k over 2 inches so you can get your order. And it doesn't help that the place is often staffed by the exact same types of people, so no "treat the customer well" treatment here unless you happen to be the dude's buddy and know what Professor Edgarton meant in last week's chem lecture.
That is probably why, since moving less than a mile away, I have never felt the need to come back here. -

Ohhhh, Berryline. What can I say about you?
This place is NOT a on-the-way-to-somewhere-else place. This place is a DESTINATION. It is as good as it gets here. It's a little hard to describe the yogurt itself; it has a bit of a tang and usually surprises people who have never had tangy froyo before, but it is absolutely delicious. THey usually have original, and a couple of rotating flavors which change quite often, and a wide selection of fruit and dry toppings. I have already filled up my first Berryline 'buy 10 get 1 free' cards in a couple of weeks. I can't avoid it. If I'm near one I must go, hell, even if I'm not near one.
Berryline should pay me. I definitely advertise this place enough.
The only downside is that it can be quite pricey, usually what I get will come up to around $5. It never deters me, though. -

Love fro-yo and this place is so far the best I've had in Boston area. Nice and creamy, as compared with some other places that are more icey and less flavor. My favorite combination is original flavor with raspberries and mango, yum!

BerryLine is a wonderful little yogurt shop created by some local former students and located close to Harvard Yard.
When I want a quick little meal that feels like desert, this is where I come. They have regular unsweetened frozen yogurt (which is just the right amount of sweet and tart) as well as a variety of creative flavors like graham cracker and nutella! The toppings range from classic ice cream sundae fair to granola, homemade mochi, and fresh fruit.
One of the best parts is that the employees are always warm, human, and approachable; not salespersony or fake.
When I first came to Harvard from the west coast I was so happy to find this place and have the cashier strike up a friendly conversation with me about Santa Cruz, Ca and Portland, Oregon.
A little pricey, as everything in Harvard Square is, but awesome.
I steadfastly prefer this place to J.P. Licks. -

I LOVE Berryline. Their velvety smooth frozen yogurt is so tart and tasty. I had my first experience with tart fro-yo at Berryline, and I immediately fell in love! I love getting it with fruit toppings. Makes you feel like you're eating healthy ice cream. (Not that there's anything wrong with ice cream, which I also love. ;-) ) And the service is great - always friendly. Mmmm.....
But, uh oh, Pinkberry just opened. I have to try them because Berryline is the best fro-yo I've tried in Boston, so I'll have to see how they compare. Even if Pinkberry is better, I'll still love Berryline. :) -

Fro-yo girl here. I've been dreaming about going to BerryLine for years. I think I fell in love with BL when I saw the first pictures of the store (it's adorable) and then I heard about their unique flavors like banana, Nutella, pear almond, etc. You can't get those flavors elsewhere. The flavors of the day are listed on their website and each location (they have three) has different flavors.
Fro-yo flavors of the day:
* Original tart: very good, full of flavor, tastes like real yogurt, not too icy/not too creamy, sweet after taste, not that tart
* Apple cinnamon tart: Really good, like apple pie only tart and yogurt like, not that tart
* Pumpkin pie tart: Sweeter and creamier than the other two flavors, tastes real - real yogurt, real pumpkin
Fro-yo prices:
* S ($2.75)/ M ($3.40)/ L ($4.90)
The store looks like a tiny house and the walls are decorated with Halloween artwork. Very cute. They had about 18 toppings: nuts, chips, granola, cereal, candy. They didn't have as much fresh fruit (no pom seeds) and the strawberries looked like they'd been cut hours ago...but this is Boston where fro-yo options are limited and I'm thinking of CA fro-yo shops.
I asked for my fro-yo side by side (in fact I said I definitely wanted it side by side) but I received a swirl...and they didn't put much in the cup. The plain mochi tasted homemade (chewy and soft), and their flavors are really good, so that made up for the stingy portion of fro-yo.
I think they have a bonus card but they didn't offer one to me. They were friendly though. The fro-yo comes in a boring cup. It's not plain but it's brown with vertical lines. Free wi-fi. Limited seating.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.Listed in: Fro-Yo Girl Speaks, Beantown favorites

San Francisco, CA
Some gal behind me in line admitted that she'd visited three times that day. Eating the divine combo of original yogo, fresh strawberries and graham crackers I thought that I too might be able to subsist on this stuff! It's super fresh with a bit of tang like real yogurt, uber creamy with a hint of sweetness. They also have a flavor of the week that they aren't afraid to experiment with, acai berry and pomegranate, to name a few. You can also grab a cup of brew (coffee and tea) as well.
The place has been totally revamped and now looks gorgeous! Sweet job, Matt W and co! The walls are brightened up by local artist Bren Bataclan's colorful cartoons too, so cute. There's also a few tables out front to lick the day away in the sunshine or moonlight as they're open until midnight on the weekends!Listed in: Froyo for the win!

They haven't had raspberry for awhile but now they're back!! woo hoo!! The line is crazy long at this place but you know a good frozen yogurt when you try one. Even without the toppings, BerryLine does not fail to impress.
Note: Stay away from the mochi pieces, they are stinky, too chewy, and taste like flour.
