I've eaten here MANY times. I eat here at least once a month and have for a few years now. The pizza is really good. Love the bread as well. Service is usually good, if you have a large party they add a gratuity to the bill and aren't always clear to you that they did it. Now I know to look for it. They do have a dining card that I use to get coupons to use for future visits as well.
They don't really take reservations, and that can be problematic as well if you're looking to have a larger group in for dinner and would like specific seating.
Probably thought of as the best dining experience to have in the Beaver Dam area, though. I can't think of a better place to have a nice dinner. Several options available to my wife & I as vegetarians as well. -

I thought my mom would love the treat of a nice dinner, so we searched the internet for local great places to dine in Beaver Dam which is where she resides.
I recognized the name of this eatery and decided to give it a shot. Wow, what a huge mistake.
The hostess station was promptly pillared when you entered, and the greeting super sweet and friendly. The wait for a table at 7 pm friday night was a norm 15 mins. Mom and I decided to sit in the bar area and have us a libation. The bartenders were incredibly friendly and made a killer martini. At this point, I was very hopeful the rest of the evening would follow suit.
We were seated in large booth amongst the tight crowded dining room. Almost as if a walking area used to exist, but efforts were made to cram to capacity.
Out server was very good, patient and attentive at the appropriate increments.
The extreme sadness was the food.
We had both decided on the Friday Prime Rib, with soup(clam chowder) and potatoes. One roasted rosemary, the other butter parsley. My mom loves Calamari so after reading the menu where is stated the appetizer was "lightly breaded" we opted to indulge. This came out on a platter with a heavy dark coating, no tentacles as promised, and the dish was loaded with tiny popcorn like crumbs of just breading. larger pieces were stuck together and doughy in the conjoined areas. How this was allowed to make it to our table was beyond me.
The Clam Chowder was very runny, but had a nice flavor. No bragging here.
The Prime Rib was a generous cut, ordered Med Rare but came out Med. The parley/butter Potatoes were overcooked and disintegrated in your mouth. Yuck.
After eating only partial of the entree, we wanted to share a dessert and both were just tickled to maybe get a satisfaction from a decadent piece of chocolate layer cake.
Sure sounded incredible by their menu description. All it was was a dried skinny layered piece of cake, lying on it's side with a dusting of powdered sugar. It was chalky, and tasted like Hershey's cocoa powder. no moist ah ha moment, no nothing. one bite was all it took.
So thats it. Danni Ms. Manager on duty knew of all our disappointment and never came to discuss anything with us. Nice JOB!! You should be aware of what is being served at your place, listen and try to fix it.
No recommendation to visit here. take your money and run. -

The last couple of times we been there for dinner the food and service has been much better then it used to be. The waitress has been friendly, helpful and kept coming around to check.
This time we all got something that was a special. I got the pecan honey boiled walleye with sweet potato fries. Had just the right amount of sweetness and the fries were crispy but too few. M dad got the cajun pasta with shrimp. He said had nice spice. It didn't have him grabbing for water to cool his mouth down. Mom got the lemon tilapia. Nothing special but good. The time before I got the chicken/pear gorgonzola pizza. Really different. Liked the contrast between sweetness and saltiness. The balsamic glaze made it. Love the bread basket. The bread is flavorful and can dip it in olive oil.
Put when waiting both time ( not a very big waiting area. Really cold in the winter cause the door is right there. Bar isn't much better) the hostess were nice but their friends kept coming in to see when they get off. Wasn't a big deal, but come on. -

I had heard about this restaurant and stopped by on the recommendation of a friend. I was surprised that the menu wasn't strictly Italian. I chose spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti was cooked more in the true Italian form. The meat balls were a total surprise. Very soft in texture with a definite taste. Almost spicy in an Italian way. And they contained sausage. Excellent.

Great service, vast menu (Italian, steaks, sandwiches, etc.). I dropped in for a quick dinner meeting, had the kids with me--they took care of special requests and treated us like regulars.

Despite high hopes Benvenutos was the worst dining experience I've had in Beaver Dam. It was nearly an hour from the time we ordered until our food arrived. The staff was unapologetic and made token effort to remedy the situation after we brought up the length of the wait.
The food when it did arrive was sub par and almost tasteless.
Save yourself the aggregation and stop at Applebees instead. -

I echo, "as good as it gets for Beaver Dam". This place is where a lot of my friends and relatives go when here and they like it fine. We have had some fine meals here too. Nothing to rave about. A little crowded. If you want an ok meal with some better flavor than most places around here then go to Benvenuto's.

As good as it gets for Beaver Dam cuisine, which admittedly isn't saying much. But this charming Italian spot holds its own at its Madison locations, too, albeit the decor gets an upgrade. I've never had a dish I didn't like. Standouts are the Chicken Pesto Penne, caesar salad, the manicotti and the steaks. The pizza is also fantastic, being of the crispy thin crust variety. Butcher paper covers the table, which adds a nice down-home element to the otherwise pretty classy interior, and makes for heated matches of the Dot Game while awaiting the food. I've neglected the best part: Complimentary warm focaccia with oil and vinegar. Molto delicioso!

Not many choices for restaurant in Beaver Dam, Benvenuto's truely differentiates itself for quality. Typical pasta and pizza choices, yet all the dishes are flavorful and well prepared. This place definitely gets my vote.
