Heidi is AMAZING! She is the only person i trust to wax my eyebrows. i have extremely thick and bushy brows but she makes them PERFECT! She has been doing both mine and my sisters for the last 5 years. I pray she never leaves! If your nervous about having yours done GO TO HEIDI! You wont regret it!

Love love love getting my brows done at the Benefit Brow Bar. They're fast and so good! I've been going to Tammy for a few years now and she does an amazing job. She's helped me grow out my brows from what used to be little lines to actual shaped brows! They have great brow fillers there that actually match my brow color and skin color (I'm really tan and have a hard time finding a color that doesn't look like it has a red undertone). She does a great job with my make up after I get my brows done so I don't look lobster red.
Love it and will continue to go here and refer people! -

I came here twice to get my eyebrows done by Hannah. She did a great job with my eyebrows. They came out really even and not too thin like I asked. She doesn't try to push products on you either while she's doing them but I'm sure she's knowledegable about them if you ask. It's $20 to get them done which is expensive but your eyebrows do turn out gorgeous. I'm not sure if all the girls do this, but Hannah took a stick and lined my eyebrows up with my nose and showed me how even the angles were with my face so everything was symmetrical. They turned out great and I loved them. They do your eyebrows for free if it's your birthday too! When they're done waxing and plucking them for you, they apply some products on your face to reduce the redness for free. Definitely try it if you're willing to shell out the $20. It's been almost two weeks and I still love how my eyebrows look :)

I love Lorena! She is so down to earth, easy to talk to, and does AH-MAZING WORK! I always go to Lorena at the Macy's at South Coast, one weekend I was at Fashion Island so I stopped into the Macy's there and had my eyebrows waxed by a Benefit girl. I was not impressed with what they did. Lorena for weeks was trying to get my brows to grow in thicker and this Macy's Fashion Island Benefit girl just waxed them all off. They were too thin and made my face look fat.
I went back to Lorena after a few weeks of letting my brows grow out and I promised her I would never go to anybody else.
Also, as an FYI....you can get your eyebrows waxed for FREE when it's your birthday! I didn't know that and Lorena told me and I was able to get them for free, which I was totally excited about!
The service at the Benefit Bar at South Coast is hands down the best!

Tam has moved! she is no longer at Benefits! She is now at Diva Salon & Spa. The address is 2781 W. MacArthur, Ste. M Santa Ana, CA92704.
way cheaper then Benefits too! only $18 for eyebrow waxing! call 714-432-7044 or call her cell at 714-383-2089
i am loyal to Tam and will go wherever she goes! Too bad for Benefits! -

My review for benefit is all over the place, I have had the most difficult experiences with them I dont know where to even begin.
Make up wise i would say 3/5 maybe even four because I like it, however there is better.
the makeup girls, most of them are friendly actually a couple who have been there the longest are super sweet and have done my makeup for me for a couple events.
But as far as management goes, more like a 0/5 for sure. All management cares about is money money and hmmm more money? Its pretty annoying. They are always changing management, everytime I go in there, there are always new people and the people that were there two weeks ago are already gone, its just a huge mess and they really need to get there shit together...management that is. Ive called corporate a few times because I was so frustrated nobody bothers talking to you.
AS far as brows go, well it was the only reason I was coming here because Ive been going to the same lady, TAM for about six years now, and she is no longer there so I will no longer need to be making any trips to the benefit counter.
I know Tam had ALOT of customers, in fact I am not sure how benefit will manage anymore without her but if you are looking for Tam to do your brows because I sure will always follow her, visit her at Diva Salon off of MacArthur and Fairview, Its a really nice and quite salon, not hectic like the mall or girls trying to get you to buy makeup when all you need are your brows done -

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet!!! Specifically the Brow Bar. I suffer from unibrow syndrome, and sadly... there is no cure. However, frequent visits to the Brow Bar help reduce the symptoms, and I always leave here feeling a little more "normal" with TWO perfectly shaped eye brows.
I lucked out early on, and found Lisa who does an AWESOME job EVERY TIME! She's very nice, takes her time... even pulls out the tweezers and scissors to make my brows look great! If she doesn't have any clients waiting for her, she'll touch up the tell tale red streaks, otherwise she'll send me off to one of the girls at the counter. YES, the girls at the counter want you to buy something, but I've never felt like they are being overtly pushy, and still do a great job touching me up even if I politely inform them I won't be buying anything.
So my recommendation is to not put your highly noticeable brows in the hands of some lady in the back of a nail shop, take the time, spend the extra $5 and to head to the brow bar! -

Lisa for the best eyebrow wax. EVER.
Mind you, I'm really quite picky about my eyebrows and I even "try" to do it myself in between visits just to save money but after a few weeks I always find my way to Lisa. I've gone to a few other girls at the same brow bar but the results just aren't the same!
When I first started going to Lisa (in 2005) I told her what I wanted & she did exactly that and exceeded my expectations! I didn't know my eyebrows could look so good! I know $20 is way more than what the waxing lady at your local nail salon asks for but I swear to you that the experience is worth it!
When the waxing is over with, they cover you right up with some of Benefit's amazing products (I'm a big fan) so that you don't walk out of there looking like a damn tomato. -

This is the ONLY place I go to to get my brows waxed. I like getting them done here because they do such a good job waxing and trimming my eyebrows. My eyebrows are pretty long and some people really don't know how to trim, but the ladies at the Benefit brow bar really know what they're doing.
I've done my eyebrows with a few of the ladies here. Lisa is my favorite. She takes her time and knows that I'm a poor student so she doesn't expect me to come in all the time. She even gave me some tips on how to manage my brows in between the waxing. I like her the best because she's very sweet and we have nice conversations while she's doing my brows. Hannah is alright. I like the way she shapes my eyebrows, but I feel as though she sometimes rushes through and doesn't clean up my eyebrows as nicely as I would like (she leaves stray hairs sometimes...and heck..I paid $20..there better not be any hairs where they shouldn't be!). Tam is good too. She's pretty thorough.
Overall, I like my experience with the brow waxing. My one gripe about the experience is the pushy sales people that push items on you when they touch you up after the waxing (I get pretty red, but that's because I have super sensitive skin). They seem to think it looks nice and natural to have makeup spackled on in thick globs. Sure it makes me not red anymore, but dang do I look like I have an inch of makeup on. They always try to suggest products to me, and i'm always saying no. Remember to be strong!!! Don't let them trick you into buying stuff by making you feel bad. -

I actually went to Macy's to find some new pair of jeans and noticed the Benefit Brow Bar. Typically, waxers are found in salons rather than in the middle of a department store, so I must say my curiosity was peaked. I mean how convenient!
After watching the waxers in action for a bit, I noticed at neither one of the clients seated were sporting thin shapeless eyebrows after their consultation. I must say that sold it for me. I am so picky about my eyebrows and have been to several different places to get them done (many of them on yelp), but have never really been satisfied on how they turned out. They were always too thin, shaped incorrectly for my face shape or one eyebrow was longer than the other (HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN??). After signing up at the main Benefit counter, I was told whichever waxer was available next would take me. I assume if you know the name of the person you prefer, you can ask to wait for them. I noticed in their appointment book they had client names with the waxers names next to them. Although I was called within 15 minutes of signing up, I would recommend that you make an appointment if you can. It appears they get very busy quickly.
A woman named Hannah did my eyebrows and she did an amazing job! I love my eyebrows now!! Although she was quick with the wax she took her time with the tweezers and I think that's why the shape and look of my eyebrows are now perfect. I had a little bit of redness from the wax and Hannah had one of the makeup artists cover it up with their Benefit products. Cost Breakdown: $20 for the wax and $5 for the tip.
Felt like a million bucks after wards and it was well worth the $25!! -

I really like the Brow Bar at Macys. The ladies are super nice. My first time I had Tam, 2nd was Tammy (confusing much?! haha), 3rd was Lynn. They did a good job and gave good advice on reshaping my brows and letting certain parts grow back in - I tend to get tweezer happy. I liked how they filled in my brows with the Brow-Zing. I finally realized that that stuff does wonders! Anywho, if they aren't busy the Benefit Makeup Gals give you a little makeover and I can try the latest products.
I also went here for their Sugarbomb Makeup Event and I loved it! Free Makeover, Free Samples, Cupcakes, Candy, it was so fun :)
Def this place has a soft spot in my heart but it is getting harder to fork up $20 plus tips for a Wax, hence I tried threading for the first time (Review below). -

I love the brow bar and the brow divas/professionals! They always do a really great job getting my brows back to normal no matter how much I screw them up at home.
Be warned though, they will try to sell you make up when your brows are all finished. Don't get me wrong --I love their makeup and I use it all the time, but I hate sitting in Macy's with a ruddy post-waxing face. Call me superficial! All I want after a wax is a medium Nordstrom's iced coffee sitting on my forehead.
My advice (if you really need to escape) just say," oh, I have all of that at home and I'm very happy with it," or go with the more truthful," 2009 downsized my makeup budget. I'll buy the new gloss with my future lotto winnings."
Can't wait to try to the new brow bar in Cerritos! Costa Mesa is a little far for me. -

This review is for Benefit Brow Bar only.
For brow design and waxing service, Heidi is the best! She does my brow for the past 5 years (from Lancome counter to Benefit counter) and nobody can replace her. Even I moved to LA already, I still make special trips to get my brow done by her. My brows stay in shape for 2-3 months. I had sent all of my friends (different age and ethnic group) there for brow service and everybody loves her.
If she is not available, you better wait for her next availabilities. I learned a hard lesson on Sunday. A different person did my brow and it was the most painful and irritated experience ever. I forgot her name... she is a skinny lady about 5' 1" with long dirty blonde wavy hair and wears black frame eye glasses. I won't let this person put anything on my face next time. My skin around my brow area turned all red and red bumps developed. I still had irritated skin with red dots on my brow 3 days after my brow wax. It was one horrible brow job. -

My sis-in-law and I took my 13 year old niece to get her eyebrows and make up done here. The brow artist was great- she was gentle and really delivered what we requested. Given that my niece is young, we didn't want a lot of brow waxed off- just a clean-up and thinning but certainly no arch yet! She got her make up done as well and did a great job: some tinted moisturizer, blush and mascara and she was all set. Didn't give them 5 stars due to the lack of privacy!

I went here to get my make up done for an event and it was the best! I brought a friend with me and it was such a great experience. It's the busy holiday season and I never know how these cosmetic counters are going to be, but wow, did we have fun! My make up looks great (not too much) and the girls even took pictures of me and my friend in their adorable pink Benefit Santa hats. We enjoyed the whole experience. It's a fun, relaxing atmosphere at this Benefit counter. Very nice girls here. They all had cute glasses on, very cute. I met Brooke, Rebecca and Tracy Biddle did my make up. She was super fun and fast. She did an awesome job. I will be visiting this Benefit counter more often.

DO NOT LET LYNN DO YOUR BROWS! I told her I wanted to keep them thick and natural, and she did the exact opposite. they are slightly asymmetrical and she trimmed more off of one side than the other. I don't like how they always try to aggressively sell you make up after you get your eyebrows done. I have had okay brow experiences here in the past but I think this is the last time I'm going to bother this place. Go to a professional!

Whenever my brows are starting to look like Bert's from Sesame Street I head over to the Benefit counter at Macy's. I've had Hannah every time. She's really sweet and I like her style. She suggests other stuff that you can do in terms of waxing, etc. but she's never been pushy.. and I feel like the makeup people at Macy's in general are extremely pushy. It's like $20 to your brows done.

i've been going to the brow bar in macys for over 6 yrs now. HANNAH and TAMMY are my favorites! i can always trust that they won't screw up on my brows. I've tried getting my brows done somewhere else at a spa that i normally go to for massages, but i was really disappointed afterwards. went straight to benefit brow bar the same day and asked them to fix my brows! haha. never again will i stray.

Review from Nikki A.

This place is such a hit-or-miss. Sometimes my brows look AMAZING when they're finished: fuller towards the nose, narrowing into that perfect arch that doesn't make you look "astonished." Sometimes--like right now--I walk out of there, take one look at my brows and head over to Sephora to buy some overpriced eyebrow kit because my brows are practically nonexistent!
The brow lady, Hannah, was super sweet and seemed very attentive. I specifically told her, "Not too thin." I've been growing my brows out since January and I finally felt that there was enough there to shape. And what happens? I take a look in the mirror and my brows are a scribble. I feel like it's 1991 again ... except it's not and I just look like one of those girls who still thinks drawn-in eyebrows are super cool. Match that up with dark burgundy lip liner and the shoulder pads that are back in style and voila! I'm a walking time warp! Awesome!
I must say that I've had excellent experiences at the Benefit Brow Bar in San Francisco and Glendale. And like I said initially, I've visited the Costa Mesa location in the past and have been completely thrilled with my eyebrows. I think it really depends on who you get and what kind of day they're having. This is the second time Hannah has practically waxed off my brows. I should know better and request one of the other girls next time.
Regarding the pushy salespeople, it's their job and I just sit through their pitch. Yes, I already have these Benefit products. Okay okay, I'll try the Benetint and come back after I test it out in different lights. It's your standard makeup counter experience. Smile, nod, say "no thanks" and move on. -

No, no no no no NO. They are positioned at the top of an escalator. I stepped off and the gal literally GRABBED MY ARM as she pitched me. She's lucky I didn't deck her for the attempted purse-snatching I thought was taking place.

On my way to see my eyebrow specialist, Heidi at the Benefit counter at Macy's/South Coast Plaza. Lots of holiday events to go to. I just got a new short haircut...so now the brows have got to look awesome. Heidi is literally the best. I've been trusting her to do my brows for over five years. So glad she is now at Benefit! Yay!

I decided to get my eyebrows waxed here since a co-worker of mine kept talking about it. I went to Hannah a few times now and I like her work. Someone finally evened out both sides of my eyebrows and took out all the little baby hairs. I went another time and got Lynn since Hannah was out. I liked what she did too. She trimmed by eyebrows nicely. I like the convenience of getting my eyebrows done while shopping. It's $20 for eyebrows and $7 for the lips. It becomes much more when they sucker you into their cosmetics when they are doing your touch up.

five starts for LISA at the benefit brow bar. i've been going to her for THREE years and she is the BEST! now..five stars for LISA.
BUT
i say about two stars for the actual benefit counter at macy's, the girls that work there are too pushy. i don't mind them showing me new things but once they get started they spakle a hundred other things on your face hoping you'll buy everything. news flash! it's too much. i have no idea what the hell or how the hell to apply ALL that crap. just show me a few things. dear lord. -

so i love Benefit Make up! I love the brow wax, but their sales people suck. I have really really blonde eyebrows, i know this and i have dark hair so when i dont wear brow make up it appears i as though they dont exist. Well i walked into macys on a saturday no make up was looking to spend money on something new. When i walked into the make up area at benefit one of the sales girls grabbed my are and told me she had something for my eyebrows........DUDE she had soo much make up and she was touching me. I was just cutting though. I left i was soo shocked. I really do love the makeup line im going there now With make on hopefully i wont get attacked.
