For a small mountain grocery store, this place is excellent! It has one of the best deli selection! It's incredible! I do agree though that if you are a true health nut or vegetarian, this deli doesn't have much for you and you'd be better off at New Leaf's. However, I can't deny that the deli at Ben Lomond Market is really good. Come one! Come all! Start stuffing your face and making your belly rountundus!

Overpriced, rude and unhelpful staff, and the bakery dept. is the worst I have ever known - what are they making stuff out of sawdust? The quality of the store was so much better a decade ago, I cant imagine what happened. Avoid and shop at New Leaf instead. (they have a better cheese selection anyway)

Up in the vallee the valley so Lorenzo. Uh oh folks will think Im drinking. Anyway, Ben Lomond Market, when you are up in the valley it is a great place to get grub. It is all local style with a great selection and BBQ that is pretty damn good. Good beer and wine selection.
Note: do not buy car additives here ( eg brake fluid etc) it is EXPENSIVE.  The people who work here are helpful and nice.
It is a great resource.

This place is excellent for a small mountain market.  It has everything you need, a great wine selection, fresh produce, good customer service, and it's of good size, overall.  There's usually parking, and enough things and space to spend a good amount of time walking the aisles and picking out what you want.

Love this store! I always feel good in this place. Maybe they pump something through the vents. Really feels local. Everything you need, which is cool for a smallish grocer, very nice produce and a full service butcher, good beer and wine selections. They carry some great breads which is hugely important to me. Amazing cheese selection. Lots of quality take-and-eat stuff if you are really rushed, and even prepared take-and-cook if you want to go half-way. They even have a nice little selection of veggie plants and ornamentals outside.

Pass by the chains in Felton and Scotts Valley and give these people your business. They deserve it.

Ben Lomond Market is my favorite stop for groceries on Highway 9 in San Lorenzo Valley.  Their produce selection is always fresh and high quality.  Their French Bread is fresh several times a day and is always soft and yet crunchy crust:)  Their deli food is actually very good and has made lots of weeknight meals, a Chinese chef and American style dishes both hot and cold....and a sushi chef on site. They also have a really good cheese selection and all the sliced meats and fancy olives and pickles to go along with it.

Nice little local market.  Fresh produce (both organic and not), good meats, solid gourmet cheese selection, nice prepared foods including wonderful grilled (outdoor onsite) whole chickens, local breads, good selection of both natural foods and mainstream brands and above all... good customer service.

Minus points for discontinuing my favorite premade pastry crust, not having bamboo shoots in stock (canned) and one strange/annoying cashier.

average market with a terrible deli counter ... if you're into  a healthy life style and eat organic meats and produce stop at New Leaf instead.
hint to the manager ...the music in your store is enough to drive your customers to suicide ... how  do the employees stand it ???

FYI if you like the concept of small & local businesses supporting other small businesses // this market along with the Scotts Valley buys about 80-90% of its wine from the a large wine & spirit distributor based in Florida. This is unheard of in this industry unless you are Safeway.
The reason they do this primarily is the distributor offers them 100% FREE "merchandisers" these are guys employed by the wine distributor who come by 2 or 3 times a week and stock the shelves. Again, unheard of in this industry ... this is against the law, but the distributor is so powerful with many senators on the "pay roll" , they have no fear. The market's policy for doing business here is very clear, you want your products in here / you gotta stock them. Only the multi billion dollar liquor houses can afford these merchandisers.
Next time you shop at this market, ask them to drop by your house and stock your pantry.
if you like the concept of shopping with a local business that supports other local wineries & businesses in the Bay Area .. look elsewhere .. Shoppers Corner has no such policy as do NO other small independently owned markets anywhere in Northern California.
