I got ice cream here after eating dinner at Santana Row. The service was really good, so the line moved fast.
I got the chocolate fudge brownie, which is chocolate frozen yogurt mixed with brownie. I thought the flavor was really tasty.
5 stars for great ice cream!
I have never taken an advantage of the free scoop of ice cream until now! Thanks for the free scoop and the semi-short line! Kiwi Strawberry Sorbet....YUM!

Who doesn't like ice cream??
Dessert with Grandma and a 10 yr old make for an interesting time. Once that sugar kicks in, you've got a hyper kid and an annoyed group of adults! LOL
What made this experience extra special while enjoying my Coconut walnut cup were all the funny things that happen on SR Friday nights.
Pontiac Man was an older Indian man in a brand new pontiac convertible. He was blasting some silly music and was waving and hopping in his seat. At one point a silly passerby-er jumps in his car and parties with him. Everyone around us takes pics and joins in on the pointing and giggling. (10 yr old LOVED this)
Grandma Jan made an oh so funny comment on all the middle aged men in fancy cars. She whispered to us, "You know, in Arizona, we call those cars, Penis Cars!" hahah
Finally, the cherry on top of my sundae, after being so upset about a mediocre dinner, my love for Grandma Jan increased ten fold. She leans over to me and asks, are you still into journalism? (I had no idea how she remembered)
After 10 years of knowing someone and sharing your goals and dreams as a young 17 year old, the human bond between us was just like savoring the sweetness of your favorite ice cream. You never forget it.
Can't complain for getting free ice cream yesterday! Man, they don't skimp on the scoops either. My friend counted that they gave us 3 scoops each..crazy! I ordered the chocolate peanut butter swirl and my friend got imagine world peace (lol to the funny name). Mine wasn't too shabby..it had peanut butter chunks and tatsted yummy. The world peace one was pretty good too..it had chocolate chunk shaped peace signs haha. Overall, the girl was very quick at serving us considering she was the only one working at the counter. She was very generous with her scoops so I can't complain at all! :)

Well, it's Ben and Jerry's so the ice cream is going to be good. But that's not what you're asking is it?
This is a tiny place employed by mostly teenage eye-rolling drama queens. I'm pretty sure I've never seen a smile on anyone working there. We'll at least a smile directed at me. There was some back/freezer-room shenanagans with a girl riding on a guy's shoulder and I'm pretty sure she was smiling. SHE-nanagans. Fabulous word. She-was-nanaganning on that guy's shoulders. That was LAME. Sorry. I'm just saying, don't expect stellar earth-moving service.
But since it is the only ice cream place on the ROW, so it's good to go. I mean, take the ice cream to go. THAT's what I'm saying.
I know it's a seasonal flavor, but..
Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice Cream rocks.. YUM!
Service is pretty slow though..

I couldn't help but notice the aroma of fresh waffle cones coming out of this place. it was like a waft of irresistable temptation luring me in. I think we've all had their ice cream before, but their fresh waffle cones are to die for. Honestly, their ice cream is nothing new. But when in a fresh waffle cone, it becomes something else. Please, no calorie counters.

I love the free ice cream they gave out the other day. My favorite flavors are the sweet cream and cookies and the triple caramel chunk. Friendly service. Great place to go after eating at one of Santana Row's restaurants!
I work at Santana Row and one Sunday, I decided to come in here on my break to get a smoothie.
...there was a LONG line...I said, eh whatever. It should move fast. I look behind the counter...there was ONE worker. Yes. Count 'em. ONE. WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?!
There was another lady behind the counter with kids...she was kind of a tease because I thought she worked there...and was going to help speed up the line. Yeah...no. She kinda just stumbled out. When someone started to order from her...she mumbled "oh. I don't know how." WTF?
So, I waited for like two more mintues...and I took off. Hell no...I don't plan on going back there.
Let me just preface this by saying that I adore the Ben and Jerry's ice cream--deeelish!
HOWEVER,
I was appalled by the lack of customer service at this location. The two male workers (I can't call them gentlemen, 'cause they weren't), spent their time hanging out in the back and making unprofessionally derisive comments about the girls they knew. One worker helped an elderly man in front of me, and when he stepped aside and I stepped forward to order, the worker WALKED AWAY to go dish with his buddy. I had to say, "Excuse me, can I get some assistance here?" for the guys to help me. Not only that, but when I ordered a pint of Americone Dream, the guy didn't know what it was. I had to point it out in the freezer case.
So don't get me wrong---LOVE the ice cream
HATE the lack of customer service
I didn't work in retail for 3.5 years to be treated as if I were invisible.
Chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate fudge brownie and Cherry Garcia are my favorites, I love ice cream from this chain. I just got an ice cream machine so I'm going to get their ice cream recipe book. mmmmmmmmmmmm :-p
My once in a blue moon indulgence when it starts to heat up in the Bay Area. I love the Cookies and Cream that doesn't seem to come in the pint sizes at the grocery store. It lives up to its reputation so I don't need to do quite an in depth review. Great ice cream and their frozen yogurts and sorbets are also quite delicious. They have a free scoop day sometime in April that brings people out in the masses.

I'm a recent convert to Cherry Garcia Frozen Yogurt.
Yeah, you read that read, Frozen Yogurt. It tastes just as good as the original Cherry Garcia (which is to say dern good in my book), but with only 3 grams of fat versus 14 in the original. So you get to splurge and put off that heart attack. What else do you want in a $5 ice cream cone?
So why this Ben & Jerry's location? Well, an evening ice cream just fits down here between the balmy San Jose weather, the many nearby restaurants and the well-manicured, self-contained world that is Santana Row.
And seriously, try the frozen yogurt. Health nut tip: my sources report that the sorbet is a notch healthier while still quite tasty.

Delicious!!! You can smell the waffle cones cooking as you walk in. They have this amazing brownie sundae. Get it!
Cannot complain much about a place that serves you ice-cream...the scoop makes your heart melt, and that makes me give them a 5-star...I love most flavors here...any chunky, chocolate or sherbet flavors...

This scoop shop does not have my two favorite flavors, Chubby Hubby and Half Baked, but I GUESS I'll just settle for a scoop of Chocolate Therapy or Coconut Almond Fudge Chip or NY Super Fudge Chunk... oh what the heck, any flavor will do. They offer a 10% discount for Santana Row employees, which comes in handy when you want to buy a cake to share with your coworkers.

Two single scoop ice cream cones for $10. Worth it? Well lets say if you love great ice cream yes. This stuff is good. Really good. Hmmm. Safeway is just down the street and I probably could have taken home a PINT of this stuff for much less and just gorge myself to death. Toota-loo!
You just can't go wrong with Ben and Jerry's especially the Cookie Dough Ice Cream...
Hmm thinking about it makes my hips a bit wider already.
Summary: Good ice cream. Not much else.
Service: Its a small palce with not many employees, so its rather slow. The server was friendly however.
Food: Can't go wrong with Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
Price: Expensive for ice cream if you ask me. But its normally $5 a pint, so $4 for about a scoop and a half isn't too unreasonable.
Cleanliness: Clean enough to get by I guess. I wouldn't sit down and eat there.
Atmosphere & Decor: Music is usually very loud. It has a very local feeling to it with the bulletin board and music and handwritten signs.
I came here for the free ice cream cone I'd heard advertised in April, so I can't comment at all on the price. It took me a while to find the place (I hate the numbering in Santana Row and the lack of directories) but once I got there, I was impressed with the speed of service considering the crowd. They were also quite friendly! I like the unique flavors Ben and Jerry's has- things you just can't find anywhere else. The other truly notable thing about Ben and Jerry's is their environmental responsibility. I grabbed some reading material (pamphlets) off the wall while I waited for someone, and I was impressed that they cared about sustainable agriculture and the more environmentally sound paper they use. We need more companies to follow their lead!
Can't complain about Ben & Jerry's, except that I can never decide on what to get. The Wavy Gravy in a waffle cone made my night.
i'm here for one thing and one thing only! to tell you how FABULOSO their ice cream cake's are...mainly because of their yummy brownie cake topped with a hunk of ice cream! oooh yeah! okay okay, i like all ice cream cakes, who doesn't?! but if i could choose, i would choose you b&j!
the 5 stars are also due to their new ice cream waffle cones in a box! i was at safeway and the ice cream aisle happened to call my name *wink*. i saw b&j cherry garcia waffle cones and decided to get some for the hubby (since he's likes cherry and i don't). i wanted a bite just to try it and long story short, i ended up "stealing" it and gobbling it up! man...THIS CHERRY THINGAMAJIGI was UBER GOOOD!!!

This place is probably one of the ONLY reasons why I ever go to Santana Row. Service is great and the flavors are always awesome.
I could live here, I don't know what I would do without my occasional pint of cherry garcia :)
Well, chunky monkey....where is your waffle...cone that is.
