Okay, granted I've played in a lot of casinos in my life and the Belterra is a middle of the country (and no where) type of casino, so I'm probably being a little harsh on the Belterra.  But, damn why does the place have to be some cheap on freebies for players?? The only thing free are the soft drinks.  Now I can imagine that there's probably some state law that prohibits free alcohol - okay, but at least give us a free meal for dropping several Ben Franklins between the three of us.

After being brought up in the card rooms of greater L.A. (I miss you Hawaiian Gardens), I've come to expect certain things from poker rooms - efficient staff, high turnover, and interesting players. The Belterra Poker Room disappointed me big time.  It's very dark which makes me want to sleep, the staff are inefficient I mean why do I have to get my own chips, can they have one of the two floor managers get your chips? and the finally the players are sooo boring.  They all white guys who live in the area and know each other yadda yadda yadda.  I want a table with an efficient asian dealer, about five asians, two black guys, a middle eastern, a russian and me playing. All of them are talking in different languages, bitching at each other and the dealer is doing a superb job. Makes for fun entertainment.
