So I was staying at the Ritz-Carlton downtown and the concierge pointed me to Blake's (because apparently, that's the only gay place they know). At Blake's, the lovely drag queen at the door told me about Bellisima, and tada, I found my way to a "lesbian" bar.

It was pretty damn empty the first night I came, but I had such a great time talking to the bartenders that I decided to come back the next night. The female bartender (I forgot her name... Michelle? Erica?? I don't remember!) made me a most delicious drink (I think she called it the Fantastic? I don't really remember the name but it was most definitely awesome if not fantastic.). Afterwards, the two bartenders and I decided to hang out and we wounded back at Blake's. Overall, they gave me a pretty good impression of Atlanta's LGBT scenes. The next night they had an Elvis show going on, and it was pretty damn awesome!

I will definitely be back again.

I completely love Bellissima. It is the first place I think of now when I think of girls in the ATL. It happens to be 10 minutes from my house, but that is hardly ever a factor in how far I'll go to have fun. (read into that as much as you want) The owner Anna is super sweet and doesn't have creepy promoter vibe (yay) and the Bartender Phillip has turned my long time virgin drink choices into exciting new variations. he always has good suggestions for people. The Tapas are fantastic and I love having the option of getting something to eat when my boold sugar drops at 1am and I am still wantiong to dance the night away. Oh and that 's another thing.. it's a club where you can trust the cleanliness of the kitchen and it's not bar food, it's delicious.

Because I have now performed there at least 5 times, I know Anna brings in many  different talents and themes to make it interesting, from live bands to sought after djs to fetish  and circus theme nights with performances and live shows. It's always a pleasure to perform in her club and the audience is a feel good mix for me. Queer, classy, and a mix of lifestyles and genders all ready to have fun.

I have been to this bar on several occasions with some friends of mine. Let's get all the labels out of they way, shall we? My friends were lesbians, and I'm a straight guy. So what was I doing in a "lesbian" bar?

Having an excellent evening!

This bar certainly caters to the gay scene in Atlanta (and more specifically the lesbian crowd) but they are absolutely welcoming of anyone that wants to drop by. And I don't mean that in a "we'll take your money but wish you were not here" kind of way.

The staff, the patrons, and everything about this place is stylish, welcoming, and accommodating. It is, indeed, a beautiful bar, with table seating, lounge seating, and even a pool table in the back, but the whole place radiates a classy / elegant feel.

They usually have a DJ, but also offer live music from time to time. The music is well-suited to the size and atmosphere of the space, and is not so loud that one cannot have a conversation.

The bar is well stocked, the prices are about what you would expect from Atlanta, and bartenders are competent. The owner and management staff are on the floor and very involved with the daily operations of the establishment, which is most likely why it has been so successful in the less-than-one-year it has been open.

The only negative was that the bathroom lines can get long on a busy weekend, but that's really a minor inconvenience and true of many places.

In conclusion, this is a stylish and classy bar that caters to the lesbian crowd but is welcoming of anyone that wants to drop by for a drink, a dance, or a game of pool.

Ok, so I expect a gift basket for being the first person to review this place, because it's surprising that a club this nice should not yet be spoken for on Yelp. First, when I went, there was no cover. Very nice. Second, I asked the bartender to make me a drink involving gin and he made this thing called a gin blossom, which was really quite good. Third, in the back they have a pool table, board games and jenga (my favorite!) Fourth (yes the list goes on) the decor is perfect. The space is huge and they have good seating for groups, ample room to dance etc. The only complaint I have is that the music could be less mainstream gay dancey and more eclectic urban edgy, but still. Amazing. It is nice to be in a bar that doesn't feel like a hoedown could happen at any minute. I mean, I love hoedowns, but sometimes class is wanted. But seriously, of all the lesbian bars I have been to, from NYC to SF, this is BY FAR the one I would be most proud to own. Literally beautiful. The atmosphere gives people something to live up to. So Atlanta, can you bring it?
