Great place to stock up on maternity clothes, nursing bras, baby gear, and diaper bag things. Excellent variety of nursing supports, babywearing, and other fourth trimester essentials. I found their prices to be competitive, and they were very helpful. If you are having trouble with your pump or with your latch, they will do a private consultation for a little extra fee. I still sleep in the sleep/nursing bras I bought here, even though my daughter is now weaned.
They recommended the breastfeeding support group at Verdugo Hills Hospital to me, which saved my life in the beginning stages of new motherhood. The LC, Miranda, is awesome, and the group is free. You don't have to deliver at that hospital to be a member. Check the website or call because they sometimes change the day or time. When I went, it was Fridays from 10-12. Okay if you are late, and it's fabulous support for your sanity.
I love the fact that Bellies, Babies & Bosoms is run and staffed by actual moms who have been down the parenting path themselves. Make sure you curb your wheels when you park.
I popped into this store last week because a friend floated my way a 20 percent coupon. I would have never discovered this place on my own, so I'm thankful for the friend referral. The store seems to carry a lot of the high end, highly rated baby products and gear. I liked that they had a separate room filled with women's clothing, nursing wear and more for the mama's. While I didn't purchase any mama clothing for myself, I did take advantage of my 20 percent coupon and bought a teeter toy and a beanie and mittens. As I said before, they seem to carry a lot of the highly rated baby products and gear, so if you read about something online, check out BB & B to see if they have it in stock, especially if you're the type who needs to see it and touch it in person in order to be convinced.
The clothes were definitely on the higher end side (too much for my wallet), but cute stuff. The service was excellent and they also offer all sorts of classes for moms.
Took the breastfeeding class. It was really informative and helpful. I found the teacher to be insightful and knowledgeable. They have really cute baby clothes as well as maternity clothes. They have a vast selection of nursing wear, sleepwear and bras. However, I found it to be a bit expensive compared to stores such as Motherhood Maternity. But I will go back and recommend this store to friends.
Truth be told, I have definitely not been enjoying my pregnancy. Don't get me wrong. I cannot WAIT to see our little man and hold him in my arms, but pregnancy does NOT look (or feel) good on me.
One of the most unpleasant aspects of my pregnancy has been shopping for gigantic clothing and bras. Good God, what happens when you start outgrowing maternity clothing?!
Desperate for yet another batch of bras that might just fit my soon-to-be milk producing breasts, I headed to Bellies with high hopes. I was not disappointed!
This place is fantastic. Tucked into downtown Montrose, it's an inviting little space jam-packed with all things mama/baby. I was greeted by two extremely pleasant and down-to-earth women who I grew more and more fond of with each passing minute. They understood my plight! They knew what kind of bras to bring me to try on! Better yet, there was ZERO pressure to buy anything, ZERO upselling, and ZERO attitude. I loved them!
I walked out of there with two new comfortable (and gigantic) bras, comfy PJs, a cute nightgown sort of thing, and a flyer for a free breastfeeding support class.
I'm not quite in the Montrose area, but found that this tiny gem was worth the drive. Why? Because the neighborhood joint that everybody keeps directing me to did not have my size nursing bra. Bellies, Babies, and Bosoms? They were stocked with a huge assortment of sizes, styles, and trained salespeople. They will give you a free fitting in their back room and listen to what you need and want, not just try to shove you into whatever is lying around or what other mommies buy. They also have a great intro to nursing complimentary class (may be with purchase, can't remember) . Soooo glad I took their class before giving birth because I knew what I wanted to do once the baby arrived so I could give the hospital staff proper guidance.
When I first got pregnant, I think I saw a flyer for Bellies, Babies at my yoga studio. Thank the spirits for that flyer! Over the course of the 40 weeks, I must have been in and out of here about a dozen times. First it was to peek at the ridiculously cute baby clothes. Then it was looking for a diaper bag (they have great ones!). Then it may have been for nursing bras (they help custom fit you and show you all the many styles and even order the right ones for you). On and on, again and again I came to Bellies, Babies, Bosoms. Now that my daughter is nearly two, I've not frequented the place as much, but I still head there for baby gifts for all my new parent friends. Their whole approach is holistic, natural and comforting - especially while you're pregnant! It's a lovely spot not to be missed!
