I called Bella Capelli after reading their reviews and checking their website out. They had a $20 off new clients coupon for Sara and Michelle (I think they vary the coupons but that is a total score). So I called to make an appointment and made one for a early evening appt with Sara. I tried to make one for the evening, as I work until 7, but decided I could come in early and leave early. The receptionist who made my appointment was super nice and went so far as to talk to Sara to see if she could stay later and she agreed to see me at a later time as a special favor. This was especially nice and I totally appreciate people going the extra mile. I embarrassingly showed up late (thanks to an hour long commute that is normally 45 minutes) and Sara was totally gracious and forgiving. Then I found out it was her birthday!! She stayed late to see me on her birthday! What a sweetheart.
She consulted with me about my hair, which had been really jacked up by another hairstylist I found on Yelp (who had good reviews, but shouldn't) and Sara said she could fix it. After the usual shampoo, rinse, repeat and a quick haircut and style, my hair is EXACTLY how I wanted it the first time I went to the other stylist (who I had gone to twice to try and get it right). Not only is it edgy, but it's easy to style because she then showed me exactly how to do it at home. I am so grateful I found my stylist in the Bay Area!! I have gotten a lot of compliments on my hair and now am proud to show it off instead of hide the weird chunks missing that were caused by someone else. Also, she said if I refer someone she will give both of us $20 off a haircut. That's just amazing. Dude, Yelp freakin rocks.
Carolyn Nelson is my stylist at Bella Capelli's. She did my hair for many years and then I moved north for a while and ended up going somewhere else. Fortunately, I am back in the area and she is now my stylist again and I am always satisfied with her work. I really find her strength is in color and she is also thorough with my cut. She's also great to chat with while I'm getting "beautified".
She also never fails to offer me a drink and everyone else in the salon is equally friendly and upbeat. I've also had Allison do my hair when Carolyn was on maternity leave and she also did a great job. It's definitely a "go to" place for hair with very talented people.
I know 5 stars is a rare review to find, but this is a rare find in the salon world. I went based on these reviews here, after a series of horrible haircuts and a disaster the last time that led to my hair basically being ruined.
So I made an appt earlier in the week for Carolyn. I went in and explained my situation (that the last stylist had bleached my hair to do highlights when bleaching wasn't necessary and then cut my hair with a razor.. I gave her the benefit of the doubt when I was there but now my hair was dry and coarse and horrible). I'm also pregnant and trying to grow a short style out because I can't be going to get my haircut every 3-4 weeks like I used to.
She was awesome! She actually listened to me and gave suggestions about how to bring my hair back to good health and how to best grow it out. She did a deep conditioning and gloss treatment to revive some moisture and the cut is awesome. I asked for just a bare 1/4 inch, if that, trim and thats exactly what she did. No more than i asked for. She also trimmed my bangs to where they weren't overpoweing my face as my hair is growing out.
And she was totally affordable! I actually found myself wishing I had tipped her more after I left. I asked for some suggestions for good shampoos (hair killer before her had sent me off with Paul mitchell stuff that basically didn't do anything for my hair. I might as well have just been washing my hair with straight water). Also a deep conditioning treatment for once or twice a week and she wasn't pushy for the most expensive stuff and even still it was cheaper than the Paul Mitchell crap.
All in all I'm so excited. I've been here 4 years and this is the first place that A) I could get into without making an appt 4 weeks out and B) the gal actually heard what I had to say and gave me what I asked for. And more! Since she saved my hair with that treatment. It looks back to being soft and shiny again!

I just got my hair done by Robyn and my Pedi by Dina... I really like this place... the staff was super nice. Robyn and Dina both made me feel comfortable and at ease...
Robyn gave me partial highlights and my hair turn out perfect just what I wanted... I'm coming back to get my hair cut by her!!!
Dina gave me a complimentary mani since I wanted to try out the gel overlay .... that was sweet of her... She also did a wonderful job with my pedi....

Where do I begin? This salon has it all. The salon is bright and open with plenty of parking. There is no hassle coming or going from your appointment. I am so relieved to not have to stress about parking when arriving for my appointment.
I have had the pleasure of such stylists as Michele (the owner and my main stylist), Robyn, Alison and Sarah. All professional and state of the art stylists. I have also seen Laurie for waxing. Amazing. I will never go to another salon again. Bella Capelli has it all.
How do you pick a salon? It is something so personal, and good be the best experience you've ever had....or the worst!
I've always had a hard time finding someone that could deal with the texture of my hair (very thick, very coarse with a wave/curl depending on the length). I even had a stylist once tell me that I had the most difficult aspects of every hair type, talk about discouraging!
My mom had been going to Bella Capelli and suggested I go see Alison. I was definitely skeptical at first.....do I really want my mother's stylist???? BEST thing I did! I love love love Alison. Not only does she work wonders, but she is a sweetheart....very easygoing and fun.
She was great the first time I went to see her...."30th birthday donating 10" inches" cut....could've been extremely traumatizing but Alison was great. I've been faithfully going back every six weeks. She gave me a great style, has great products, and I wouldn't trust anyone else!
Thanks to yelp I found this place and love it! I've only been here once a few months ago and had ALLISON cut and color my hair. She did an amazing job! She used some hair color that I guess is less damaging on your hair and it really did the job, it looked better than it has ever been. She did the exact cut I was looking for and gave me tips on how to style my hair. I also ended up buying this hair serum by Eufora that she used on my hair, and ever since I've been using it my hair has been so shiny and incredibly smooth, it is MUCH more healthier than it was before.
I have an appointment with her next week that I am really looking forward to. I don't even need to get my hair colored again, it still looks amazing. I definitely recommend going to this salon. It seems like every stylist here is very talented.
Lori is an amazing aesthetician...best waxing ever. A friend referred me, and I am forever in debt!
She is very experienced, professional, and really this is the best wax treatment I have ever had.
I never would have found this place were it not for Yelp.
I have been looking for a salon that actually accepts credit cards, (most in the Campbell area don't.) I find that annoying, and it's kept me from returning to other salons. I know it's dumb, but what if i got there and I wanted more done to my hair than I had already taken cash out for? I realize some people may find my mini-rant unreasonable, but whatever, it had to be said.
Anyway....
When i called, I asked of they took credit cards, and was told some of the stylists do, and that i could be set up with one of them.
Fantastic! I made an appointment with Sara, and am so happy I did!!!!
She listened to what i wanted, and offered suggestions without being pushy. I appreciated that she didn't try to get me to buy a bunch of products until I specifically asked her for suggestions.
After i decided to buy something, she even told me if i was unhappy with it, i could return it anytime. How great is that? It makes me more likely to try new (and more expensive products than I normally use.) If i don't see any difference in my hair, no biggie, I can take it back.
We also discussed wedding hairstyles, and I loved her suggestions.
She's actually less expensive than the other place i was going, and I like my hair, and her so much better!!!!
This is a great salon, and they offer a myriad of services. If you aren't looking for them, you might not find them. I'd highly recommend them to everyone,

The stylist I went to the last time I got a haircut is now really popular (thanks to Yelp) and wasn't available for another week. So after reading good reviews on here about Bella Capelli, I decided to chance it and book an appointment with Sarah. This little lady was extremely polite, detail-oriented, and respectful. She asked all the right questions and told me what she was doing as she was doing it so that there's no hidden surprises. Her rates are really good, especially for this area. She made sure that I loved my haircut before I left and paid special attention to my bangs when I felt that they were still too long. I highly recommend her.
The salon is sort of hidden in the back of a building at the corner of Bascam so it can be easy to miss. I actually like the salon because of its relative simplicity. It's not fancy-schmancy or snooty and the prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back again!
I needed a new hair salon since I moved, and this salon is close to me. Based on other Yelpers, I decided to check it out.
The customer service when making my appt was great, and I was able to get an appt. quickly. My stylist was Sarah, and she was great. She made me a cup of coffee and took a look at pictures of different hairstyles that I brought in. She helped me choose an effortless cut that needed minimal styling or attention (which is what I wanted). The cut came out great and she was very detailed when cutting. I will definately not hesitate to try out color there one day.
Sarah used some nice products on my hair, and never pressured me into buying them. When I did ask about one product that I particularly liked, I was surprised at how inexpensive it was, since I was used to salon hair products costing loads of money. Her haircut was affordable, as well ($40), but other stylists charge different amounts.
The salon is really cute, and sells little things like jewelry, purses, gift baskets of goodies, and nail polishes. It is a full service salon, and offers many different services, although some of these services are pricier than I've seen at other places.
I already made my next hair cut appt.!
Robin is amazing!!! not only is she a color goddess and amazing with the cuts...but she is hilarious! i have the best time with her. I have been seeing Robin now for 3 years or so and i swear by her. I moved from San Jose to Sf and I still make the drive to see her every 8 weeks!!! She is worth it!
Robin accepts check or cash!!! but you can use your credit card for any products bought at Bella Capelli!!!
It doesn't get better than Bella Capelli. Michele, the owner, is an unbelievable person, hair stylist and business owner. She's my hair dresser and aside from doing a perfect cut and color every time, she makes me feel just perfect every time I'm there.
I go to this salon for both my hair and my facials.
Hair - Carolyn Nelson does an excellent job!! She does great highlights and awesome hair cuts.
Facials - Lori Sexuar is amazing! Not only does my face look great when i leave but she gives the best neck and shoulder massage ever!
I have received so many compliments on my hair since Sarah colored and cut it for me last week. The salon is relaxing and peaceful, they offer you beverages and make sure you are comfortable. In fact I really appreciated how Sarah checked to make sure I was comfortable several times (under the dryer, getting my hair rinsed/water temperature, combing out my hair,etc) I was pretty unclear on exactly what I wanted because I wasnt quite sure myself - I just knew I didnt like the way my hair looked when I walked in the salon, but I sure loved it when I walked out. If only I could make it look as good at home as that "just walked out of the salon" look!
The salon also has many other services including mani/pedis, facials, hair removal,etc. AND lots of fun gifty items to buy! So much fun!
The owner Michelle is really sweet and caring and you can tell the staff is happy there as well as all the repeat customers.
I highly recommend Bella Capelli Salon and I will be shopping there for holiday gifts because they have gift cards and gift baskets full of great and practical gifts.
Although I have not had a haircut or color or anything done here YET (I am going in for a haircut today) - they have REALLY great service! I emailed them because I was looking for a salon that can do perms and they called me the next day to schedule a consultation with the leading lady of the salon! I thought, WOW! Usually people would give you the one with the least experience because they don't really know what kind of customer you are - so they give you just an okay person - but when I found out I got a consultation with the owner/head stylist - I was very pleased. Also, when I went in for the consultation she answered all my questions and helped me get rid of all my fears about getting a perm and wondering if it's going to turn out the way I would want it to or not. She spent a good amount of time with me until I was completely satisfied with my visit and I definitely was! I scheduled to do my perm the DAY BEFORE I go to New York!!!!!!! I'm still kind of worried, but I just have to let it all go and realize that a new hairstyle for me will be good :)
My coworker's daughter works here so that's how I first found out about the salon - later, I found out another coworker of mine goes to the salon for her haircuts and they're always so chic and very clean looking.
FYI: If you want to go to this salon and you want a haircut next week - THINK AGAIN! This place is packed and it's always busy, so I suggest making an appointment at least like 2-3weeks ahead of time. I'll update later when I get my haircut today!!! :)
If you girls AND guys want to have a great experience, this is the salon for you. I have been coming here for three years and I LOVE Janna Krause. She is an expert on color not to mention stylist...a person high recommended. This salon only hires the best.........treat yourself and check it out.
Sarah is the best. This is the longest time I have kept the same stylist. I love the way she cuts my curly hair and does my color. She listens to what you want and doesn't try to make you something you aren't. The whole staff at Bella Capelli is a great group.
Sarah @ Bella Capelli gave me a fabulous new look. She was very patient and attentive listening to what I wanted and made very solid suggestions to make it work best for me. I am looking forward to my next visit!
I only came here because my guy Gabriel from Marisol's in San Jose was in Mexico. I called and they were able to see me right away and gave me whoever was free for a cut. I got Fermin Vasquez who was a nice guy. The cut was just a cut from very long, one length hair to long layers but he kept my length as I had requested.but it was nothing spectacular. The only thing I didn't really like is he kept pushing me back because I guess I was slouching a bit. We all slouch when we're getting a hair cut but to continuously push me back (in a very annoying way, not really rude but ANNOYING) because he couldn't have the decency to move himself rather than moving me bugged the hell out of me. I am paying you $55 dollars to cut my hair, the least you can do is work with me not keep shoving me back. Anyway I guess I should have gotten one of the other ladies everyone raved about in the previous reviews but I won't ever know because I won't go back. I will just wait until Gabriel is available.
