My husband is a huge fan. He says that the salon is beautiful inside, and very relaxing. The staff are friendly, and he always feels comfortable. They are pretty good about making last minute appointments, and he always is happy with his cut. I haven't gotten my hair cut here myself, but if he's happy, I'm happy :)

I was not very happy with my hair appointment. I arrived 15 minutes early and was told to wait until my stylist was available, 30 minutes later I was informed they would be running late, and that they would be with me shortly. Well, another stylist came over and said they would be helping me until my appointed stylist could get to me. Turns out, that they never in fact came to cut my hair, the interim stylist did the whole thing which was also, unsatisfactory. I wanted two inches off my hair with no frills layers, parts, etc. They cut less than an inch off, and took 10 minutes on the cut and and hour on the blow dry which was set on cold air. I thought at one point they were going to dry it and then cut it b/c there was no way it could take ten minutes to cut my hair. I even checked the floor to see if in fact there was hair down there, I couldn't see any; I am semi Convinced they pretended to cut my hair and then just blew dried it straight. I was already running late so I did not have the time nor the temperament to say something but I highly doubt I will be back.
Another thing which was alarming was I purchased a Groupon for hair services which was an $85 dollar value for $40, when I arrived there was a sign outside stating first time visit were $35 and inside hair cuts for women ranged from 45-$75; so I am a little confused, my deal was not such a deal at all and they either played Groupon and Myself or just myself, either or would not recommend. -

I bought a Groupon for a Keratin treatment and made my appointment about two and a half weeks in advance. I went through the online appointment request form, which sends my preferred times to the salon to which they respond with the e-mail. I originally requested an earlier appointment, but it was unavailable. I then asked for my actual appointment time, which was confirmed. Well and good.
My concern was from the lack of professionalism during these exchanges. There were no worries about spelling or grammar. The signature at the bottom said Sent from my HTC Smartphone. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's relevant to the rest of the story...
I left my last class at 4:05, walked to the parking garage, pulled onto the road by 4:17, and hauled butt to Southpoint. By some miracle I made it by 4:31. I approached the desk and, lo and behold, they had lost my appointment. I was told "the system crashed and none of the appointments were recorded." That's funny, because your salon seems plenty busy right now. I asked, "Why didn't I receive an e-mail? E-mail conversations aren't saved on hard drives, they're saved online." Even better, the e-mails weren't even sent from a computer, so I don't see how it would be relevant to a hard drive or network crash. But apparently, everything was lost.
My question is multi-tiered. First, how does a salon not have a backup system in place to make sure that something like that doesn't happen? Second, even if you don't have a backup, why would you not post a message on your website? I was on the website right before I left to make sure I got the location right.
I've asked for a refund, since my need was time sensitive and I now have literally no need for this Groupon.
