Before heading to a show at the Gothic, we were looking for a place to get some food.  'C'mon Yelp, don't fail me now,' I thought.  It did not.  Beirut is excellent food at a very inexpensive price.

I've been to Middle Eastern restaurants before, so I know the best place to start is with whatever fresh squeezed juices or smoothies they have.  I ordered the Cantaloupe juice and am still thinking about it.  It was divine.  My friend ordered a Strawberry Lemonade and it was one of the best we had all tasted.

Then cheese pies (which looked like little boats) and hummus and pita tided us until dinner.  The hummus and pita were excellent, the pita tasted as if it has just been prepared.  For dinner our table of four split the Meat plate, the Vegetable plate, and the Falafel plate.  Nothing was bad.  My favorites from the plates was the marinated chicken, which was so tender and flavorful, the refreshing tabouli, and delicious baba ghanouj.  Even their salad vegetables of chopped tomato, cucumber, pita, and onion was incredible.

Basically, the food simply outstanding.  The prices were quite reasonable (we all left, with tip, 15 a piece).  Service was slow, but who cares with food this good.

Beirut was suggested to me by a biker buddy who recently got back from Iraq.  He told me that the hummus was the best he had found in Denver and was comparable to the hummus in Iraq.  He also told me that I could find the type of coffee that I had in Saudi Arabia and have not been able to find anywhere else in Colorado.

First off, they did not have green coffee.  Secondly, their hummus was superb, but their baba ghanouj was heavenly.  There is an airy, smoky taste delicately woven throughout the bite of baba ghanouj.  I asked the waiter, who also turned out to be the owner, and he said that they put walnut in their baba ghanouj.  This may be the most delicious baba ghanouj I have ever had.  Additionally, the pita is freshly made to order, so it comes out hot and tasty.  This was the best experience.  The shwarma chicken and the lamb & beef shwarma were three to three and half stars.

The knafeh and baclava for dessert were fair.  I have definitely had much better.

The owner was such a nice man.  After working for years at Damascus, he and the owner of Damascus started Beirut Grill.  Wonderful food and I recommend it.  Be sure to try that baba ghanouj and PM me to tell me what you think of it.

The decor is quite quirky (lots of beaded lampshades and stained-glass lanterns, tasselled table cloths etc), the server was friendly and super attentive, and menu prices seemed pretty decent. The food, however, really wavered between two and three stars.

The complementary hummus (or "homos" as they call it) was ok, and the pitas were fluffy, warm and plentiful. My Meat Combo seemed like a fantastic deal at $13.95 but, sadly, I was rather disappointed with everything on the plate. My biggest complaint is that everything was really really dry, and kinda tasted like it might have been sitting around on a hot plate for a while. The meat wasn't the greatest quality either (the chicken kabab was especially chewy and fatty. The mystery meat shawarma (lamb or beef? I don't know) was VERY dry and gristly). Nothing was terribly flavorful either. I can't think of anything I would want to try again.

He fared MUCH better with the Vegetarian Combo ($11.45). The tabouleh and fatoush were crisp and fresh, the falafel were crunchy and nicely-cooked, the homos and bab gan were above average, and the rice was fresh and buttery. He said the dolma was one of the best he's ever had - moist and stuffed with rice and spices with only a thin wrap of grape leaf.

As far as my neighborhood goes, I'll stick with Damascus Grill. Otherwise, I guess I'll continue making the trek to Colfax for my Middle Eastern fixes.

I drove by this place many a times and always appeared kinda empty.  Well, I had a craving for some of middle-eastern food and decided to give this place a whirl.  WOW- authentic and yummy!!

Having quite a few palestinians friends and attending parties, I've been fortunate to experience what real authentic middle-eastern cuisine should be.  The kabobs (esp. the beef and chicken) were tender and flavorful.  The pitas are melt-in-your-mouth.. The hummus, baba ganoush, dolmas, and falafel, also fresh and seasoned perfectly.  The shawarmas, dead-on.  I really couldn't ask for anything more.

The only drawback is the price.  It was more expensive than I'm used to, but for the quality and quantity, I found was to be well worth it.  I will definitely come back.

The sauteed mushrooms, dish after dish of hummus and the Baklava! I love this restaurant because the regulars are known and the staff is always nice and cordigal when it comes to what you really want on your plate. From the kabobs to the chicken, to the lamb and rice. Everything is exquisitely made, without the outrageous pricing. The flatbread, made in-house, and always warm when served. Be aware, individuals may fill up on the non-stop hummus and flatbread before the entrees are even served. Wonderful fruit shakes, there is one made with Mango that again, is filling, and as a returning customer, its a must. The must welcoming part of the restaurant is the low-key, wholesome feeling, that one can walk out of the restaurant knowing fresh food was served with love. Don't forget the in-house made Baklava! Honey-nut goodness that is displayed at the cashier's desk, don't forget!

Gotta go for 4 stars on this one. It was a pleasant discovery that we stumbled upon on a drive back to Denver. Oh, if only Beirut Grill were closer to home.

When I dine at Middle Eastern restaurants, I'll periodically order combination plates so I can sample many items. I'm delighted I tried the combo at Beirut. The fatoush was "to die for." I kept wondering why I'd never tasted it before on visits to Ya Hala or Shish Kebob Grill. The fatoush was a combination of tasty tomatoes, crispy cucumbers, pita-like croutons lightly topped with a perfectly blended dressing.

Loved, loved, LOVED the tabouleh with a perfect hint of mint. And the hummus and baba ghanoush were creamy delights served up with fresh, fluffy, and warm pita bread.

One item fell short on my list - the lentil soup. No restaurant has come close to the yumminess that is Ya Hala's lentil soup. In Beirut Grill's lentil soup, I could've sworn I tasted butter. Now, I wouldn't normally be opposed to a warm buttery flavor but the butteriness was a little overpowering. I'll skip it on my next visit. There's plenty other dishes on the menu to fill me.

Overall, a very delicious dinner. Beirut Grill has moved to the top of my list of fave Middle East restaurants in the Denver area. I look forward to returning and trying other dishes.

Cool things about Beirut Grill:
1. They painted their ceiling in a checkerboard pattern, cool!
2. Big, exotic plants that look like they could eat you if you didn't pay attention.
3. Our server smelled like soap. I usually don't want the people who serve me food to smell like anything, but this guy smelled like he scrubbed himself crazy with a bar of soap, and I appreciate that.
4. Mango juice made from real mangoes!

Unfortunately, I was not impressed at all by the food. The appetizer of cabbage leaves and meat was sad and squishy, the kebabs were bland and the salads were wilty.

The tea was warm and the service was friendly, so I'd be willing to return and hunt through the menu to find something tasty.

If you've ever eaten at Damascus out on Colo. Blvd, then you will like Beirut Grill.  Why?  Because it's the exact same menu and food, but at a much less crowded and hectic location!  At Damascus the service takes forever, the waitstaff is running into each other, and I endure it all because the food is delish.  At Beirut Grill, the food is still delish, but you get quick service and a much calmer atmosphere.  In fact, the same waiter has waited on my sister and me each and every time; he always remembers us.

I almost always get the veggie combo because I love the fatoosh, hummus, and rice.  The hummus is creamy-thick and the rice....omg, the rice!  The babaganoosh is a little different than what I'm used to, but I still eat it all up.  For those who aren't veggies, the meat is also good, from what I've tasted.  My sister ordered the chicken shwarma and it was very tasty--rich and cinnamony.  Most importantly, the pita bread is fresh and hot and homemade and has crack in it.  The hot mint tea is wonderful for washing the whole kit n' kaboodle down your gullet.

Downside... it's located in a grim little strip mall, with a drabbish interior.  They have tried to spruce it up with some paint and decor, but it can't really hide the fact that all the furniture is second-hand.  Doesn't bother me, but if you're hoping for ambiance you will be disappointed!

Sometimes I wish there were two sets of stars, one for the restaurant, and one for the food. This place gets 5 stars for the food and 2 stars for the restaurants.

It's not that the restaurant isn't nice, it is. But, there is apparently a war zone in Englewood that I didn't know about, and this place is right in the middle of it. There was crazy homeless guy that wandered in and yelled at everyone. Rather than try to get him to leave, all the staff hid in the back until he left. Lame for two reasons, we had to listen to the guy until he left and the staff disappearing into the kitchen held up getting our food brought out. Then, there was the teenage girl who had to run outside to heroin-spat three times while she and her boyfriend waited for her takeout. It just wasn't a very pleasant place to be that evening.

When we finally did get our food, it was fantastic. I think my entire meal was $15 and could have been shared with a family of 4. I had the Meat Combo, which was fantastic. I heard compliments down the table about the King Combo, especially the Falafels.

So, I would highly recommend this place...... for the TAKEOUT. Call in your order ahead of time and just drop in to pick it up. There is no reason to spend any more time in this neighborhood than you have to.

I love this place!  I used to think Jerusalem was good, but Beirut (and it's sister, Damascus) kick Jerusalem's butt.  FRESHLY made pita and some of the best hummus and babaganouj anywhere. Meat dishes are a little hit and miss but the veggie plate is always top notch.

Ok so this place isn't super spectacular, but I enjoyed my meal. I got the chicken schwarma & "homos" (say hummus - their spelling, not mine) meal and it was pretty darn yummy. The atmosphere of this place is probably about a -2 though, it's too bright and too open, too much stuff going on. But the baba ghanoush and hummus were tasty and the service was snappy AND OMG the FRESH pitas are to die for, warm and lovely! I'd go there just to eat their pitas and hummus honestly...

I love mediterranean food. And when I want it, nothing else will do. I've been to Beirut Grill twice. The first time I went (a couple of years ago), I had a bit of a tour, with stuffed grape leaves, falafel, meat & spinich pies... I was one happily stuffed customer when I walked out. It was my first experience with this type of food, and I found myself craving it the next day. I've since eaten at a few different places, but went back to Beirut Grill last night. I ordered the "Homos" & Shawarma plate (chicken). I was fulfilled; however I've had better Chicken Shawarma (House of Kabob, CO Blvd). Their hummus and pita bread is great though, and I'll go back to this charming, quiet little place just for that.

Calling this a four-star restaurant might be very slightly exaggerating, but I feel I must to compete with those wildly overblown Jerusalem reviews (you know what I'm talking about).

ATMOSPHERE: While this restaurant is in a strip mall and you aren't likely to forget it, there are real tablecloths, glasses made of glass, and ceramic dishes. And it's clean. The booths and chairs are a bit mix-matched to the fun gold walls and middle eastern textiles.

SERVICE: Super friendly although laid back. Great for enjoying a leisurely lunch with friends, probably not a good idea if you've only got a minute before your movie starts.

FOOD: Fantastic and amazingly cheap. I got a falafel sandwich ($3.45) and some tabouleh ($2.95). The most expensive thing we ordered was some shrimp appetizers ($4.95 -- still under $5). Platters were more ($8-$9 or so) but could apparently feed an army for a week.

Those shrimp appetizers? They actually elicited a moan from my man. If you knew him, that factoid would make you grab your keys to drive over to Beirut Grill right now. He doesn't moan easily.

The Baba Ganouj was also really good. The pitas were warm and soft. I could probably make a lunch out of the pitas alone.

Good for vegetarians, good for carnivores.

I can't wait to go back and try more things!

Please give this little restaurant a chance! They are fairly new and need and deserve your business. Bookmark now!!

I would go to this place on a regular basis and it was always empty. I kind of felt bad for the folks that ran it so i tried to drop by when ever i was in that part of town, that was until one of the waiters stole my Iphone! I couldn't believe it! the Owner was less than pleasant with me about the whole situation too.  So now I will join the rest of the world that doesn't go to Beirut grill.

I agree with Carrie on this one.  I would go here instead of Jarusalem more often if it was open later.  I stumbled upon this place for the first time after a night at Table Steaks.  It was 10 minutes before they closed, but they were more than happy to fix me up with some shawarma and some baklava.  I will definately be back. Check it out the next time you think you want to go to Jarusalem,  as long as it's early.

As mentioned, while stuck in the corner of a strip mall -- with most of the adjacent storefronts vacant -- Beirut Grill has a nice atmosphere inside, great service, and wonderful food.  The Pita is homemade and ours arrived warm and doughy with homos/hummus.  Yum!  Our two entrees were delicious and we had some left over to take with us.
