Went to Bedlam today for the first time got my cut done by Excel. I have to say it's the best fade I ever got. Definitely, worth the extra money. Salon-quality, quality products, got my har washed and styled nicely. Will be back!

I think what stood out is how much time Excel spend on making sure hair looks perfect and not just rushing through, also drying it to see how it looks prior to washing then drying again then styling. A lot of other places would leave imperfections in the place and mask it with the product at the end.

This is a a few weeks late but better late than never, right? Emily and PJ are my go-to when I need anything done to my hair. I've been coming here to see them for years. I usually see Emily. In this case, I needed to trim my extremely damaged hair. :( Ideally, I should've went shorter but I told Emily that I wanted to keep as much length as I can. She washed my hair with the most wonderful smelling products and cut off all the fried black ends of my hair before straightening. I was so happy, it was exactly what I wanted. The last time I trusted anyone else with my hair, I left disappointed. Lesson learned. I won't be going anywhere else! I come here feeling confident that she will do what's best for my hair. I can't wait to let my hair grow a bit so I can have her fix my stripy highlights.

I'm never disappointed when Lisa does things with my hair. I recently had brassy highlights from a different stylist and she managed to fix it. She toned my hair and gave me a much needed head massage.

I waited a month for my appointment since her schedule was packed with other clients. The day I got my hair toned, I received so many compliments. People also said how they liked how much volume my hair had. I usually wash my hair every day, but Lisa advised me to wait a couple of days to wash it. I'm surprised it wasn't oily and still had volume after the third day. She used some great products in my hair. To be honest, I didn't want to wash it because she did a really good blowout. I can never recreate a blowout like hers.

This is coming from a very particular and discerning client that's searched far and wide for a barber that has a love for their craft and can build rapport with me and guide me towards the right cut in a healthy way.

Nick Leonard is such a barber. He's literally the best barber I've ever had. Along with all the cuts he's given that got me to a great place with my confidence and style, he's treated me with the utmost respect every time, creates a comfortable and chill environment for me, and has set the bar so high for hair design.

Highly recommending Nick and all the amazing folks at Bedlam.

You always do my girls up real good... including my kids. So my wife had a hard time deciding of when to cut our kid's hair. My first daughter, we waited until she was 4 years old, and we put our trust in Lisa to cut her hair and we decided to donate the 12+" to Locks of Love. Most recently, we did the same thing with my other daughter after 3 years of age. Lisa gave both my babies a beautiful/fashionable haircut and style which included a hair wash and head massage. They've been getting compliments on their hair ever since...and to this day (its already been a month).

Lisa is also my wife's stylist and she comes back feeling like a million bucks every time!

For those of you who decide to wait around for your SO, there's a starbucks a couple doors down and you're in the heart of downtown SJ so i'm sure theres a bar really close by.

I found out about this salon from a friend's recommendation and I am so glad I decided to come!

I had super damaged brown/blonde ombre hair from having a friend bleach it (natural hair is black). I had wanted to achieve a lavender color, but my hair kept breaking and the color turned green instead of purple! Fed up, I booked an appointment with Chelsea for a color correction. Chelsea was super nice and not judging at all (I was afraid she would lecture me on how damaged my hair was). She worked on my hair for 7 hours (my hair needed a lot of work!!) and patiently trimmed, bleached, toned twice, dyed, and trimmed my hair again all for the total of $230! Plus she gave me a sample beauty product & gave me some dye conditioner mix to keep the color vibrancy in my hair longer. :-D

I am definitely coming back!

There are hundreds of places to get a haircut in San Jose but I truly feel that Bedlam is the best salon in San Jose. The haircuts & services are pricey (for me because I'm frugal) but I think that they only hire the best hair stylists and barbers so that justifies the prices. Every single client who walks out the doors always comes out with an amazing hairstyle like it came straight out of a high end fashion magazine. And I have seen many people come out of the doors since I go to the gym across the shop which overlooks the front door.

I have been getting my hair & bangs cut here for over three years and have gotten cut by Victoria, Lisa and Steph. All my haircuts here have been the best haircuts I've ever had in my life. Each appointment is nothing short of amazing from the wash (& scalp massage), cut and style. Before I found Bedlam, I tried out a different a stylist every time, at different price points and they were always just whatever haircuts. But these Bedlam stylists, I feel that they really mastered their craft. On top of the haircut, the stylists and owners are all very nice, have very good soft skills, relatable, well mannered and very stylish. I feel comfortable going here and honestly don't even like getting haircuts or any other beauty/pampering services.

Also, every time I get my haircut I never really have style in mind but they always give me a flattering style that frames my face. A style that I could wash and wear it to work, and style if wanted to. For each haircut, the stylists take their time to make suggestions, ask questions, show me how to style my hair different ways, and tell me about the different products they use. They are all very knowledgeable at what they do.

My boyfriend has also been getting his hair cut by Victoria for over three years. He has tried many many other barbers / stylists in San Jose but the skill level that Victoria posses with the clippers is way above any other barber I have seen. Every few months, my bf likes to change up his style and each and every time Victoria is able to consistently give him a perfect fade, taper and a timeless haircut. She has truly perfected the art of barbering.

There is another hidden gem at this salon. The best barber in San Jose works here. Many people know him from when we was working at Crewners back when it was a one chair shop. But now he is at this better salon. You can see on his barber Instagram that he cuts business owners, vice presidents, artists, soccer celebrities, venture capitalists, world famous breakdancers, designers, teachers and everyone in between. If there was one thing that could make this salon even better I would appreciate it if they offered all natural, plant based shampoo, conditioner & hair products.

I'm disappointed. Usually, I get my haircut with Stephanie but the times didn't work out.

Instead, I scheduled an appointment online for 8am this morning (08/11/2017) with Lisa. Prior to scheduling, I called 2 days before to confirm that these times were accurate because 8am is earlier than the typical hours. Having gotten confirmation that it was accurate, I scheduled. I was excited because I have a busy schedule and I saw this opportunity to get a haircut before my 3 year anniversary weekend with my boyfriend.

This morning I arrived at 8:03am. The only person working, I assumed, was Lisa and she was still cutting wet hair. I understand that appointments run over. However, by 8:15, I was getting concerned. I am in the service business, myself, and I had a 9:30am scheduled. It would take me 15-18 minutes to get to work on I-280N. I needed to be out the door of Bedlam Beauty & Barber by ~9:10am to make the happen. By 8:20am, with the client still in the chair, I realized I could not get my haircut done and I would have to leave. (The previous client had yet to check out. With ~50 minutes, I figured I would need a 30 minute haircut to get out on time. Then I have to weigh whether that was worth $95+ and it isn't). At 8:23 or so, the client before me started the check out process and I asked for a parking validation and left.

Lisa's face was full of regret that things ran over and later, I received an email saying the client was late and coming from out of town. I understand there really is no good way to handle a situation like this -- if Lisa denied service to the first client, she might go and write a 2-star review about how she was denied service and I might not have shown up. However, I scheduled, I showed up and I didn't get a haircut.

Additionally, before I scheduled, I had seen that Jacob had availability this weekend. I tried to see if there were any other times and unfortunately, everything had been booked up. Like I said, I'm disappointed.

I had a great experience with Bedlam and will definitely be back! First of all, the atmosphere has a really nice vibe to it- unique decor, spacious, and clean! And from day 1, the staff has been very communicative via email and returning my inquiries over voicemail.

After an initial hair consult, I set up my appt with KC. She is absolutely amazing! I had read other yelp reviews about her expertise in color, and surely, they were right! She worked efficiently, was very detail-oriented, demonstrated skillfulness in getting the exact color I wanted, and frequently checked in with me. Not to mention, pleasant to talk to, which makes the hours go by. All in all, I would definitely recommend her for your color needs!
