Personally i try to avoid this place asmuch as possible. This place is just screaming get your own apartment and buy me! There are way too many good things here. I always leave disappointed that i dont have a place of my own .

my recent purchase a soup mug? I'm not sure what it is.. it looks likea cup but its big enough to hold a soup or oatmeal, regardless im super excited...

i agree with others they are pricey... therefore take a picture of what you like and look around or even better find some proof that some other place is selling items cheaper than BBB, and theyll compare =)

go savings!

Oh BB&B, how I love thee

Your low prices allow me to continuosly moisturize my situation and preserve my sexy.

Your Dove soap allows me to stay clean and fresh. Your mouthwash lets me walk the streets without dragon breath. Your wax strips keep me smooth and hair free. Your Micro SD card lets me download all the useless apps I want for my phone. Your facial moisurizer keeps my skin well balanced. Your cute bins filled with tiny bottles of products allow me to carry around my favorites in my bag,in mini form. Your flushable wipes allow me to...er..well you know.

Please don't ever go away, for if you do, I shall become a hairy dragon-breathed, ashy, stinky heifer with skid-marks

Overpriced bed linens? check
Snuggies for dogs? check
Good deals on things like hangers? check

I prefer to go somewhere less....overfuckingwhelmingscaryasscluttereddomest icshitwithasweetcartescalator... but that's just me

It's big, very big, but also a bit confusing and unorganized. Finding what you want might require the help of an employee, and thankfully, they're quite friendly it would seem. They're always like "Hi!", and I'm always like "Grghaa.. hi". Because I'm awkward. Depending on what you're buying, it can swing between inexpensive and pricey. They're always passing out those 20% off coupons in the mail though, so..

For whatever reason, there's also a cafe on the side and a small organic market in the middle of the store. I don't get that, I really don't.

It'll do, pig, it'll do.

For flimsy plastic organizational units, shower curtains, bedding, tiny plastic funnels for your flask*, and big boxes of Tampax, you could do worse than visit the Triple B. Their drugstore section is surprisingly well organized and priced to move, but the sheer size of the store and overwhelming cluelessness of the poorly trained employees may incite anxiety attacks. And what's with the gourmet grocery section?

AVOID AT ALL COST DURING THE LAST WEEK IN AUGUST AND THE FIRST WEEK IN SEPTEMBER. As a former NYU student, trust me on this one. If you're not stampeded by freaked-out parents, you'll be buried in a sea of pink shower caddies and bottles of T.G.I. Friday's Margarita Mix.

*Seriously. It's really hard to find tiny plastic funnels.

Like all others, this BBB has all your essential Bed, Bath, Kitchen, Bedroom, etc. needs.  However prices are a little steep so I only come here when I've got a coupon.  This is one of the largest ones I've seen so you chances of finding what you want is pretty good..

This location is gargantuan with three level as I felt lost.  Service is very attentive and friendly as wherever I went there was a sales associate willing to assist my shopping needs.  Customer service in today's ailing economy is vital as business is slow.  There is also a health & beauty department, which I felt like I was in CVS or Duane Reade.  Thankfully, Bed, Bath & Beyond accepts their own coupons received in my mail past the expiration date.  The 20% coupons helped my shopping needs in cooperation with my budget in today's unfortunate ailing economy.  There are separate escalators that shopping carts can take a ride enabling patrons to shop freely from level to level within the store.

On another note, to my complete dismay I was disappointed with their selection of bed linen as I just bought a new bed.  Bed, Bath & Beyond does not a good selection of pattern bed linen as everything was solid yet extremely bland colors.  I was seeking a simple floral flat bed sheet with matching pillow case only to receive disappointment.  In addition, they do not have a lot of floral pattern bed set (comforter, bed skirt, pillow cases, flat sheet, and fitted sheet).

For such a large store, the selection is sorely lacking. For every item I was looking for, there were maybe two options/brands/variations max. I like to have options especially when I have limitations based on space or size. You would think that I could find a small round laundry basket but they only stock large rectangle laundry baskets. Um, what city am I in?

I've been here twice in the last week and both times it was 80 degrees. I'm always cold so for me to complain that I'm hot indoors means it's stifling for the average person.

I am amused that there is a "Cafe Beyond" that serves coffee, cupcakes, pastries and has a salad bar and there's an organic market in the middle of the store. I'd appreciate those additions more if they stocked more of the basic items I was looking for.

When living in the burbs I never went to BB and B. Everywhere else was cheaper and home goods were not only sold at BB and B. Then I moved to Manhattan and my morals went out the window. I have tried to shop at local stores or go to Ikea but nothing beats the convenience of the BB&B locations as well as their delivery service (they have walked 7 flights of stairs before so I can't knock them).

This location has pretty much everything you need (they also have created a food isle?? WTF is that? They will take every single one of your Mr. Washingtons and not feel bad about it). They lack a furniture selections but are fully stacked with outrageously priced linens.

Staff here is extremely helpful and will help you find whatever you need...even bring you a cart if you have too much stuff to carry. The store is always clean and organized.

The downside of this location is that it is constantly packed.

My advice is make some Jersey or LI friends and have them drive you to normally priced homegoods stores outside of Manhattan.

This store has a funky smell i don't know what is it or why that is i don't know  i don't want to know...

They have a selection of things you might need or not need....

How come they cant stack on cheap basic stuff or something cheaper of the pricey version....

Organization of this store is kind awkward I had to run around the store to look for something until i asked someone and it was like hidden behind something else...

Amount of stuff - OK
Be ready to spend lots of time there... :(

This is just another Bed Bath and Beyond, but here's what you might not know about the chain...

Sign up for coupons online.  They will send you a 20% coupon in the mail every other week for the rest of your life.  Ignore the expiration date - they don't actually expire.   I used one from 2004 last week.  You can use up to five coupons per visit.  You can apply them retroactively if you forget a coupon at the time of purchase - just bring the receipt and coupons in later.

I am a huge fan of this Bed Bath Beyond location.

The most important factor: same day delivery until 11pm at night for $15.  So I can shop to my heart's content, and then go home and wait for a hassle-free delivery.

Also, this location opens at 8am on Saturdays, which is a good time to go if you want to have some time to mosey down the aisles with your cart before it gets really crowded.

They have pretty much everything you need for apartment living, including doodads and spacesavers that I didn't know existed before but now swear by.  In addition to regular Bed Bath Beyond fare, they also have a little crunchy granola grocery section and a big section with drugstore items like shampoo.  I find this handy b/c it enables to get two or three birds with one stone.

Some of the staff could probably use a little more training in being friendly and attentive, but maybe that's just a New York thing.

Bed Bath and Beyond is everywhere, from the suburban malls to the crowded island of Manhattan, and yet, I choose this particular location to receive five stars.  What makes this particular BBB a five-star establishment is simple.  From the moment you walk into the tri-level store, friendly staff greet you and ask if they can help you look for anything, then they either drift into the background or direct you to your product.  On several occasions, the staff would grab a basket and walk with me during my entire visit!  Can you imagine having your personal umbrella holder?  Well, it's like that, and it only happens at this Chelsea location!  I've been to the UES one and it's not like this at all.  For the shy shoppers, they will leave you alone if you want.  How helpful!  The entire store is organized and well-stocked, it's shopper's heaven.

When I moved to NYC five years ago, this was the first place I went to in the city. Please keep in mind that this is not your ordinary Bed, Bath and Beyond that you find in every shopping center. They sell products, especially designed for living in those tiny NYC apartments. I could seriously spend a hundreds of dollars in this store every time I visit, but I do my best to stay in control:).

The only negative is sometimes it gets very crowded and difficult to find a sales person to help you out. Be sure to also check out the cafe. The food is not too bad.

Be sure to bring those 20% coupons that you get all the time in the mail.

I think the people who work here are on something, like maybe the upper management is slipping some amphetamines into the kool aid in the water cooler-everyone is so NICE!

BBB is a dangerous place for me-I LOVE kitchen gadgets. Egg slicers, mandolins, blenders, panini press, food scales, tupperwares in all shapes/colors/sizes, measuring cups, spoons, meat thermometers, cupcake carriers, cookie cutters, you name it-they have it.

Who can resist their 20% off coupons that you can use 50 of at a time if you want to. They deliver, so if you are new to the area, go balls to the wall crazy and buy everything your heart desires and have it delivered home without the schlepping on the subway or in a cab.

Loves it!

Side note: If you register with BBB, after the wedding date you have I think 4-6 weeks after the wedding to purchase the remaining items on your registry for a % off (I can't remember if it was 10 or 20%)

Little known fact: I used to work at Linens-N-Things when I was in high school. Greater known fact: Linens-N-Things is exactly the same as Bed Bath & Beyond. They also take eachother's coupons! (which won't really help you at all, since Linens-N-Things is going out of business.)

Whew, ok. Now on to my review. First of all, this place is HUGE! GIANT! And it was especially weird for me, since it's basically like a much bigger version of the store I worked at in high school. Quite a trip.

The one thing that is nice is that the layout is friendly. It works out in such a way that there is a path that basically leads you around the store, and ends with the cash registers. And while it's easy to get lost, just find the magic path, and wander around a bit more, and you'll find the outside world.

Everytime I've been here, the place is crazy. And the one time I went were around the start of college season, it was INSANE. Won't do that again. It's the kind of store where there's a lot of associates to help people, but because there are so many people, the associates are ALWAYS helping people. You have to follow them around and wait your turn for help. But that's no fault of BBB, it's just a busy store. Which is good for them.

Bed Bath & Beyond has an extremely large collection of items to begin with, so going to this one is almost overstimulating. Who knew BBB sold fine china? Who knew Yankee Candle made that many fragrances? Who knew there was an iron that is also a grilled cheese maker? If it exists, it's at this Bed Bath & Beyond.

The lines to check out, obviously, can get very long at time. Also, the layout of that section of the store is absolutely horrible. If it's crowded, you'll never know if you're actually waiting in a line, or just part of a mob. My advise is to just stand behind someone, move when they move, and pray that you'll eventually reach a register.

For the most part, I feel like most people know what Bed Bath & Beyond is and what they sell. As a result, if you need something from BBB, you'll go there. But if you haven't been to this location before, I just wanted to give you a heads up.

Recently BB&B remodeled a large section of the store to stock organic products ranging from moisturizers to pet snacks to pretzel chips. This section is pretty good... large selection and good prices. I buy almost all of my face/hair/body stuff here because it's cheaper than most drug stores and grocery stores in the city (ie. Whole Foods, Duane Reade, etc).

If it weren't for this section, and the convenient bathroom located towards the entrance, I would surely never ever ever ever ever ever step foot back in this store. The people who work here HATE THEIR LIVES and they want to make everyone else in the entire world miserable. I have never encountered a less friendly, less helpful, less suicidal-loooking group of people. They all need hugs desperately.

So one star for the organic section, and one star for being the only place in NYC that I was able to find a beaker replacement for my Bodum french press.

How many college graduates does it take to find the lower level of Bed Bath & Beyond?
It takes 2, and about half an hour to do so.

As much as I love places like this, and usually buy/tempted to buy ridiculous home goods, dusting slippers for example. It just had too much. Lots of stuff in a huge space! Christmas items out already? It's not even Halloween.
But since it's down the street from my school and off the L, I know I'll be back.

The trip to NYC alone makes anyone hungry - at least if you're me. Stacey and I trekked to the city one weekday to find ourselves starving at arrival. After walking a few blocks, we could not find a place to eat. That shouldn't happen in NY, but it did. Who knew BB&B had a cafe? Call us crazy, but this is where we stopped.

First of all, they have the largest baked potatoes I've *EVER* seen. But beyond that, and more importantly (to me) they have the most wonderful cupcakes I've ever laid my hands (tounge?) on. I didn't expect much from a BB&B cafe...however, my baked potato soup was pretty good - especially because they gave me pumpernickel bread with it. Stacey said pre-made her tuna salad was good, too. Annnd, the service was really friendly!!

I suggest stopping here for a cupcake, though. SERIOUSLY.

Now, I dislike superstores and I really hate how the 100 foot ceilings in this place make me feel small and insignificant while looking for a replacement toilet seat ($10 btw), but this place is very well run. BBB is neat and the help is everywhere. I've bought just about everything for my apartment here and they have also added a really well stocked, if compact, beauty store which carries a surprising array of stuff.

Plus, being a designer, I'm super picky about just about everything that goes into my apartment so having the choice of 50 garbage cans may annoy some, but if you're anal-retentive like me it's a necessity.

If you are like me, I'll see you by the fan department - I'm the one inspecting Bodum glassware like a freak show.

This Bed Bath and Beyond is located in a stunning building;  they are dog friendly so go ahead and shop for a Hoover with Rover.  I love my creature comforts...fluffy Isotonic pillows, soft modal sheet sets, 100% Egyptian cotton towels, bamboo mats, Bodum French press, and Breville juicer to name a few.

BB&B has a wide array of merchandise priced reasonably, good sales and they deliver. They also have a ton of highly carcinogenic cleaning products ( most likely tested on animals)  that will kill you and the planet! I steer clear of these toxins opting to use vinegar  (great for cleaning /economical ) and natural cleaning products from Trader Joes and Whole Foods.

My absolute favorite thing about BB&B is their return policy.  You will receive a store credit even if you return an item sans box and receipt!  Shhhh....I returned my hand held shark ..no box...no receipt after 2 years ( I was never satisfied with it's performance) and I  bought me some nice wine glasses with the store credit.   They have a cute little cafe with some decent eats to boot.  If you enter before closing time (9pm) ...they won't kick you out... you can shop till you drop ...until 10:30 pm at least!  The sales people are friendly and they really go out of their way to help you.

***Public service announcement.***.....if you are in the neighborhood and you need to urinate go in and use the loo instead of whipping it out on the street!  Please don't forget to toss all the toxic products,  you just spent a small fortune on,  in your new shiny stainless steel garbage can!   Happy housewarming!

BEYOND ANY OTHER RETAIL ENVIRONMENT
How do they have so much stuff and how does it all look clean?
You will spend more than you have to but sometimes for the convenience its worth it.

example:
I was not able to get my bed in my apartment yet so I bought an air mattress after work at the place I knew they would have it. The place has the name Bed in it so it would be bad business if they didn't have one.

Once in a while you'll find great deals in here, especially when you're trying to hook up your apartment. George Foreman grill? Check. 20-piece silverware for $10? Check. Jonathan Adler shower curtains? Check.

So what if the big box retailers are moving in? As a lifelong Manhattanite I say it's about damn time!

- reasonably priced
- bright, clean, and large
- great return policy
- I'm big on touching things before I buy so the fact that they have samples of all the fabric is fabulous

You know they have what you need *somewhere* in the store, the problem is finding it. A map would be nice. I just go into BB&B when I know I have the time to wander around for an hour picking up things I don't need until I happen to find what I do need.

The sales people are extremely helpful and if one notices that you have a cart full of things (including a huge simple human trash can- who can resist?), (s)he will probably present you with the form that would allow you to have it all delivered home that night for something like $25 to Brooklyn (it's worth it, you'd be taking a cab for that anyway). If you do decide to just take a cab home, on your way out, they'll put a HANDLE on the box for you to make carrying easier.

One thing BB&B isn't the best for is appliances. If you need an air conditioner, suck it up and go to PC Richard. They may be incompetant, but they have a large selection. If you need something small, like a toaster oven, go to Target because you will definitely save. I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond looking for small appliances before going to Target and in most cases it was pretty shocking.

Bed, Bath and Beyond is awesome for curtains, bedding, the types of things you don't want to spend huge amounts of money on and want to have a large selection of things. Unlike Target, you'll be able to find prints that weren't inspired by the 80's/early 90's and you'll probably be able to find the size that fits your bed. Target always seems to have everything but what I need.

The best thing about BB&B is it's pretty multipurpose which is why they get away with charging a little more for certain things.

I think I have a love/hate relationship with this place. On  the one hand, they have everything you need for your home/apartment/space. For instance, I went in with my roomie, Susan C., and we asked an employee, "Do you have those things, those stretchy things, that keep the sheets on the mattress?" and he led us right to the darned things.

The downside is, this place is truly a confusing and overwhelming environment to be in. I have been to other B3s that have been WAY easier to navigate. Maybe it is the fact that they have two floors. I'm not sure, but this particular place sure does make it difficult if you just want to "browse."

For these simple reasons, this is probably the best, BB&B to trek to in the city:

1. It's centrally located,: While it's not directly at Union Square, it's not necessarily out of the way like the way up BB&B in the Upper West Side, or the way out BB&B, by the Queensboro bridge.

2. This store has everything and anything you could ever need at a BB&B: Small furniture items, mountains of bedding options, TOILETRIES (hello Upper West Side store?!!!) and anything else your brain can think up at a BB&B. I even found a simple sewing/mending kit here!

3. The People: So, my previous (probably problematic, but well intended and hopefully humorous) review on the UWS store parlayed on the people in that store, mostly reflective on the types of people I typically run into while in the UWS, whom I don't favor. This store, while quite crowded, has some really amazing folks, staff have been quite friendly and helpful and patrons are forgiving and quite conversational themselves.

I couldn't ask for more!

Love this BB&B and the Gays who come here!

Bed, Bath and Overpriced. That being said I am grateful it is there. There is a bathroom and it is a really nice trifecta being able to hit Old Navy and Filenes in the same 1/2 block radius.

I can find what I need here more or less.

Do NOT be drawn in by the crap they have by the registers!!! You do not need a gizmo to squeeze your toothpaste tube you can do it just fine with your toothbrush.

If it wasn't for the constant 20% off coupons I would never come here, but then again it seems they have a lot of ingenious things I could use.  The lure of Bed Bath and Beyond is made much easier when the store is clean, makes good use of the layout, has decently priced items, and a variety of good brands for people to choose from.  Service is great here, I've always had the help when I've needed it and been asked about it even when I didn't.

Unlike the other BBB that is located all the way on 1st Avenue uptown, this one is more central to the city and ultimately easier to access.  Another thing that is good about this place is that its clumped together with Filene's Basement, TJ Maxx all in the same building.  If there is a knock for anything, it would be the insane lines that build up at the cash registers.  They have like 10-15 machines, yet the wait is almost always unavoidable.

I go here regularly because of the 20% coupons and occasional $5 off certificate my FRIEND'S receive in their mail! What's with the hatin' BB&B?! How come I never get either coupons in MY MAIL?!

Anyways, it is a BIG store with a VERY BAD layout IMO! I don't like the way it's laid out at all because it's quite confusing and can be hard to find certain things. There are times when I lose patience and end up walking out without bothering.

I do like that it has everything I could possibly need in there and I do like the vast selection of bathroom products it offers.

The cashier's are all pretty friendly and the staff are helpful when you can grab the attention of one. I would rather go here than to Rite Aid, Duane Reade or Kmart because it's a bit cheaper with the coupon and has a much better selection.

I can always find everything I want here, and it gives me great decorating ideas. Too bad living in NY means I don't have a big enough home for most of it!

10 stars for the staff.  I've never had so many people say hello to me.  It was slightly scary - I almost forgot I'm in NYC.

I like that they have that section of shampoo/deodorant/other bathroom necessities - at prices far lower than Duane Reade.  As for the standard bed/bath/beyond stuff - it's ok, but I've never understood all the fuss.  Nothing super stylish, and prices are just average.  If there were a target in the city, I'd probably never set foot into BBB again.

I don't know the first thing about buying things for the home. I have no idea what interior decorating means even at the smallest level. I have no compunction or affinity for it, nor do I really care. I feel if you have the money, go ahead. Stores like Ikea, Target, and here make your place pretend that it's nice looking, but to me I'll take random furniture and pair it together and as long as I look like I have space, I'll take what I can get.

Needless to say, this place provided a lot of stuff over the years. Paired with the T.J. Maxx and such in a little mini-mall of debauchery, it's kind of confusing, when you first walk in it takes a minute or two to get used to it (it's a wrap around store). Once you go for a bit you'll understand where you are but not why you're there.

I've bought random things here: I picked up a beer pong table (not the usual but it's well sized), small garbage can and matching bath rugs; shower rings, anything shower related, small appliances, more garbage stuff, lamps, storage container, etc. I can't remember if I bought that shower curtain that has all those stupid sayings on it like "I'm cute" or "look at me" or "I'm gorgeous". But it would fit here. They've all been well priced, or there was always a cheap option, plus checkout was pretty quick as usual. It's so focused on a certain aspect of my life that I put no effort into that it's a perfect store for me to walk in and get everything I need.

Dang, this place is ginormous! I was happy to find everything I needed from this B,B,&B, and the people working there were generally helpful and friendly.

Bonus: Their delivery service is the cheapest I've seen yet -- all your purchases delivered to your home for $15 (most places do the same but for more $$).

I'm conflicted on how to rate this place.
Truth is, you can find just about ANYTHING here, including, but not limited to: appliances small and large, more kitchen gadgets than you could use in a lifetime, space bags, bean bags, bed in a bag, bags to store your bags in, Rachel Ray's cookbooks, Emeril's pots and pans, George Foreman's grill, ice cream makers, ice cream bowls, ice cream scoopers, pet treats, car fresheners, that tape you use to keep your slinky top from slinking off and everything you've ever seen advertised on tv... plus some more stuff that I can't remember right now.  They've also got, some eager, but poorly informed sales staff, lines 12 people deep, screaming babies, fighting couples and overworked cashiers...
That being said, it's worth a trip.  Write a list, avoid weekends, opt for delivery and pop a few valium on your way in.
